New International VersionInternational Standard Version
"This is what you are to do to consecrate them, so they may serve me as priests: Take a young bull and two rams without defect.1"This is what you are to do to them in order to consecrate them to serve me as priests: Take a young bull, two rams without blemish,
And from the finest wheat flour make round loaves without yeast, thick loaves without yeast and with olive oil mixed in, and thin loaves without yeast and brushed with olive oil.2unleavened bread, unleavened cakes mixed with oil, and unleavened wafers spread with oil, which you are to make from fine wheat flour.
Put them in a basket and present them along with the bull and the two rams.3You are to put them in one basket and bring them in the basket along with the bull and the two rams.
Then bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance to the tent of meeting and wash them with water.4You are to bring Aaron and his sons to the doorway of the Tent of Meeting, and wash them with water.
Take the garments and dress Aaron with the tunic, the robe of the ephod, the ephod itself and the breastpiece. Fasten the ephod on him by its skillfully woven waistband.5Take the garments and clothe Aaron with the tunic, the robe of the ephod, the ephod, and the breast piece, and then gird him with the skillfully woven band of the ephod.
Put the turban on his head and attach the sacred emblem to the turban.6Then put the turban on his head, and place the holy crown on the turban.
Take the anointing oil and anoint him by pouring it on his head.7You are to take the anointing oil, pour it on his head, and anoint him.
Bring his sons and dress them in tunics8Then you are to bring his sons and clothe them with tunics.
and fasten caps on them. Then tie sashes on Aaron and his sons. The priesthood is theirs by a lasting ordinance. "Then you shall ordain Aaron and his sons.9You are to gird Aaron and his sons with sashes and tie headdresses on them. The priesthood is to belong to them by perpetual ordinance, and you are to ordain Aaron and his sons.
"Bring the bull to the front of the tent of meeting, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on its head.10"You are to bring the bull in front of the Tent of Meeting, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the bull.
Slaughter it in the LORD's presence at the entrance to the tent of meeting.11Then you are to slaughter the bull in the LORD's presence at the doorway of the Tent of Meeting.
Take some of the bull's blood and put it on the horns of the altar with your finger, and pour out the rest of it at the base of the altar.12Take some of the blood of the bull, put it on the horns of the altar with your finger, and pour out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar.
Then take all the fat on the internal organs, the long lobe of the liver, and both kidneys with the fat on them, and burn them on the altar.13You are to take all the fat that covers the entrails, the lobe of the liver, the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them and send them up in smoke on the altar.
But burn the bull's flesh and its hide and its intestines outside the camp. It is a sin offering.14You are to burn the flesh of the bull, its hide, and its refuse with fire outside the camp. It is a sin offering.
"Take one of the rams, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on its head.15"You are to take one of the rams, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on its head.
Slaughter it and take the blood and splash it against the sides of the altar.16Then you are to slaughter the ram, take its blood, and scatter it around the altar.
Cut the ram into pieces and wash the internal organs and the legs, putting them with the head and the other pieces.17You are to cut the ram into pieces, wash its entrails and legs, put them on the altar along with the pieces and its head,
Then burn the entire ram on the altar. It is a burnt offering to the LORD, a pleasing aroma, a food offering presented to the LORD.18and send up the whole ram in smoke on the altar. It is a burnt offering to the LORD; it's a soothing aroma, an offering by fire to the LORD.
"Take the other ram, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on its head.19"You are to take the other ram, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the ram.
Slaughter it, take some of its blood and put it on the lobes of the right ears of Aaron and his sons, on the thumbs of their right hands, and on the big toes of their right feet. Then splash blood against the sides of the altar.20You are to slaughter the ram, take some of its blood, and put it on the lobe of Aaron's right ear, the lobe of his sons' right ears, the thumbs of their right hands, and the big toes of their right feet. Then you are to scatter the rest of the blood around the altar.
And take some blood from the altar and some of the anointing oil and sprinkle it on Aaron and his garments and on his sons and their garments. Then he and his sons and their garments will be consecrated.21You are to take some of the blood which is on the altar, along with some of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it on Aaron and his garments, and on his sons and their garments. He is to be consecrated with his garments, along with his sons and their garments
"Take from this ram the fat, the fat tail, the fat on the internal organs, the long lobe of the liver, both kidneys with the fat on them, and the right thigh. (This is the ram for the ordination.)22"You are to take the fat from the ram, the fat tail, the fat that covers the entrails, the lobe of the liver, the two kidneys and the fat that is on them, the right thigh (for it's a ram of ordination),
From the basket of bread made without yeast, which is before the LORD, take one round loaf, one thick loaf with olive oil mixed in, and one thin loaf.23and one loaf of bread, one cake of bread mixed with oil, and one wafer out of the basket of unleavened bread that is in the LORD's presence.
Put all these in the hands of Aaron and his sons and have them wave them before the LORD as a wave offering.24You are to put all of these in the hands of Aaron and in the hands of his sons, and present them as a wave offering in the LORD's presence.
Then take them from their hands and burn them on the altar along with the burnt offering for a pleasing aroma to the LORD, a food offering presented to the LORD.25Then you are to take them from their hands and send them up in smoke on the altar on top of the burnt offering for a soothing aroma in the LORD's presence. It is an offering by fire to the LORD.
After you take the breast of the ram for Aaron's ordination, wave it before the LORD as a wave offering, and it will be your share.26"You are to take the breast of the ram of Aaron's ordination, and present it as a wave offering in the LORD's presence, and it is to be your portion.
"Consecrate those parts of the ordination ram that belong to Aaron and his sons: the breast that was waved and the thigh that was presented.27You are to consecrate the portion of the ram of ordination that belongs to Aaron and his sons: the breast of the wave offering that was waved and the thigh of the presented offering that was presented.
This is always to be the perpetual share from the Israelites for Aaron and his sons. It is the contribution the Israelites are to make to the LORD from their fellowship offerings.28These offerings from the Israelis are to be a perpetual ordinance for Aaron and his sons. They are presented offerings, and they are to be presented offerings from the Israelis out of their peace offerings. They are presented offerings to the LORD.
"Aaron's sacred garments will belong to his descendants so that they can be anointed and ordained in them.29"The holy garments of Aaron are to be for his sons after him so that they may be anointed in them and ordained in them.
The son who succeeds him as priest and comes to the tent of meeting to minister in the Holy Place is to wear them seven days.30Aaron's son, who is priest in his place, is to wear them for seven days when he comes into the Tent of Meeting to minister in the Holy Place.
"Take the ram for the ordination and cook the meat in a sacred place.31"You are to take the ram of ordination and boil its flesh in a Holy Place.
At the entrance to the tent of meeting, Aaron and his sons are to eat the meat of the ram and the bread that is in the basket.32Then Aaron and his sons shall eat the flesh of the ram along with the bread that is in the basket at the doorway of the Tent of Meeting.
They are to eat these offerings by which atonement was made for their ordination and consecration. But no one else may eat them, because they are sacred.33They shall eat these things by which atonement was made at their ordination to consecrate them, but an unqualified person is not to eat because these things are holy.
And if any of the meat of the ordination ram or any bread is left over till morning, burn it up. It must not be eaten, because it is sacred.34If any of the flesh of the ordination ram or any of the bread is left until morning, you are to burn what is left with fire. Because it's holy, what remains is not to be eaten.
"Do for Aaron and his sons everything I have commanded you, taking seven days to ordain them.35You are to do this for Aaron and his sons, just as I've commanded you. You are to ordain them for seven days,
Sacrifice a bull each day as a sin offering to make atonement. Purify the altar by making atonement for it, and anoint it to consecrate it.36and every day you are to offer a bull as a sin offering for atonement. Offer the sin offering on the altar when you make atonement for it and anoint the altar to consecrate it.
For seven days make atonement for the altar and consecrate it. Then the altar will be most holy, and whatever touches it will be holy.37You are to make atonement for the altar for seven days and consecrate it. It will be most holy, and whatever touches it will be holy."
"This is what you are to offer on the altar regularly each day: two lambs a year old.38"This is what you are to offer on the altar continually: two one year old lambs each day.
Offer one in the morning and the other at twilight.39"You are to offer one lamb in the morning and the other at twilight,
With the first lamb offer a tenth of an ephah of the finest flour mixed with a quarter of a hin of oil from pressed olives, and a quarter of a hin of wine as a drink offering.40and there is to be a tenth measure of choice flour mixed with one fourth of a hin of oil extracted by hand, and one fourth of a hin of wine as a drink offering for one lamb.
Sacrifice the other lamb at twilight with the same grain offering and its drink offering as in the morning--a pleasing aroma, a food offering presented to the LORD.41You are to offer the other lamb at twilight with the same grain offering and drink offering as in the morning. You are to offer it as a soothing aroma, an offering by fire to the LORD.
"For the generations to come this burnt offering is to be made regularly at the entrance to the tent of meeting, before the LORD. There I will meet you and speak to you;42It is to be a regular burnt offering throughout your generations at the doorway to the Tent of Meeting in the LORD's presence, where I'll meet with you to speak to you there.
there also I will meet with the Israelites, and the place will be consecrated by my glory.43I'll meet there with the Israelis, and it is to be consecrated by my glory.
"So I will consecrate the tent of meeting and the altar and will consecrate Aaron and his sons to serve me as priests.44I'll consecrate the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and I'll consecrate Aaron and his sons to serve as my priests.
Then I will dwell among the Israelites and be their God.45I'll live among the Israelis, and I'll be their God.
They will know that I am the LORD their God, who brought them out of Egypt so that I might dwell among them. I am the LORD their God.46They shall know that I am the LORD their God who brought them out of Egypt so that I may live among them. I am the LORD your God."
