Psalm 91
NKJV Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionEnglish Standard Version
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.1He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”2I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence.3For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.
He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.4He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day,5You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.6nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.
A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you.7A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.
Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked.8You will only look with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked.
Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place,9Because you have made the LORD your dwelling place— the Most High, who is my refuge—
No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;10no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent.
For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways.11For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.
In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.12On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.
You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.13You will tread on the lion and the adder; the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.
“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name.14“Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name.
He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.15When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.”16With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
