Psalm 91
NKJV Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionNew International Version
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.1Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”2I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."
Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence.3Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence.
He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.4He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day,5You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.6nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.
A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you.7A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.
Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked.8You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.
Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place,9If you say, "The LORD is my refuge," and you make the Most High your dwelling,
No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;10no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent.
For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways.11For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;
In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.12they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.13You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name.14"Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.15He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.”16With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation."
