New King James VersionHolman Christian Standard Bible
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.1The one who lives under the protection of the Most High dwells in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”2I will say to the LORD, "My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."
Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence.3He Himself will deliver you from the hunter's net, from the destructive plague.
He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.4He will cover you with His feathers; you will take refuge under His wings. His faithfulness will be a protective shield.
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day,5You will not fear the terror of the night, the arrow that flies by day,
Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.6the plague that stalks in darkness, or the pestilence that ravages at noon.
A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you.7Though a thousand fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand, the pestilence will not reach you.
Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked.8You will only see it with your eyes and witness the punishment of the wicked.
Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place,9Because you have made the LORD--my refuge, the Most High--your dwelling place,
No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;10no harm will come to you; no plague will come near your tent.
For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways.11For He will give His angels orders concerning you, to protect you in all your ways.
In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.12They will support you with their hands so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.13You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the young lion and the serpent.
“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name.14Because he is lovingly devoted to Me, I will deliver him; I will protect him because he knows My name.
He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.15When he calls out to Me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble. I will rescue him and give him honor.
With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.”16I will satisfy him with a long life and show him My salvation.
