Psalm 104
NLT Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationEnglish Standard Version
Let all that I am praise the LORD. O LORD my God, how great you are! You are robed with honor and majesty.1Bless the LORD, O my soul! O LORD my God, you are very great! You are clothed with splendor and majesty,
You are dressed in a robe of light. You stretch out the starry curtain of the heavens;2covering yourself with light as with a garment, stretching out the heavens like a tent.
you lay out the rafters of your home in the rain clouds. You make the clouds your chariot; you ride upon the wings of the wind.3He lays the beams of his chambers on the waters; he makes the clouds his chariot; he rides on the wings of the wind;
The winds are your messengers; flames of fire are your servants.4he makes his messengers winds, his ministers a flaming fire.
You placed the world on its foundation so it would never be moved.5He set the earth on its foundations, so that it should never be moved.
You clothed the earth with floods of water, water that covered even the mountains.6You covered it with the deep as with a garment; the waters stood above the mountains.
At your command, the water fled; at the sound of your thunder, it hurried away.7At your rebuke they fled; at the sound of your thunder they took to flight.
Mountains rose and valleys sank to the levels you decreed.8The mountains rose, the valleys sank down to the place that you appointed for them.
Then you set a firm boundary for the seas, so they would never again cover the earth.9You set a boundary that they may not pass, so that they might not again cover the earth.
You make springs pour water into the ravines, so streams gush down from the mountains.10You make springs gush forth in the valleys; they flow between the hills;
They provide water for all the animals, and the wild donkeys quench their thirst.11they give drink to every beast of the field; the wild donkeys quench their thirst.
The birds nest beside the streams and sing among the branches of the trees.12Beside them the birds of the heavens dwell; they sing among the branches.
You send rain on the mountains from your heavenly home, and you fill the earth with the fruit of your labor.13From your lofty abode you water the mountains; the earth is satisfied with the fruit of your work.
You cause grass to grow for the livestock and plants for people to use. You allow them to produce food from the earth—14You cause the grass to grow for the livestock and plants for man to cultivate, that he may bring forth food from the earth
wine to make them glad, olive oil to soothe their skin, and bread to give them strength.15and wine to gladden the heart of man, oil to make his face shine and bread to strengthen man’s heart.
The trees of the LORD are well cared for— the cedars of Lebanon that he planted.16The trees of the LORD are watered abundantly, the cedars of Lebanon that he planted.
There the birds make their nests, and the storks make their homes in the cypresses.17In them the birds build their nests; the stork has her home in the fir trees.
High in the mountains live the wild goats, and the rocks form a refuge for the hyraxes.18The high mountains are for the wild goats; the rocks are a refuge for the rock badgers.
You made the moon to mark the seasons, and the sun knows when to set.19He made the moon to mark the seasons; the sun knows its time for setting.
You send the darkness, and it becomes night, when all the forest animals prowl about.20You make darkness, and it is night, when all the beasts of the forest creep about.
Then the young lions roar for their prey, stalking the food provided by God.21The young lions roar for their prey, seeking their food from God.
At dawn they slink back into their dens to rest.22When the sun rises, they steal away and lie down in their dens.
Then people go off to their work, where they labor until evening.23Man goes out to his work and to his labor until the evening.
O LORD, what a variety of things you have made! In wisdom you have made them all. The earth is full of your creatures.24O LORD, how manifold are your works! In wisdom have you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures.
Here is the ocean, vast and wide, teeming with life of every kind, both large and small.25Here is the sea, great and wide, which teems with creatures innumerable, living things both small and great.
See the ships sailing along, and Leviathan, which you made to play in the sea.26There go the ships, and Leviathan, which you formed to play in it.
They all depend on you to give them food as they need it.27These all look to you, to give them their food in due season.
When you supply it, they gather it. You open your hand to feed them, and they are richly satisfied.28When you give it to them, they gather it up; when you open your hand, they are filled with good things.
But if you turn away from them, they panic. When you take away their breath, they die and turn again to dust.29When you hide your face, they are dismayed; when you take away their breath, they die and return to their dust.
When you give them your breath, life is created, and you renew the face of the earth.30When you send forth your Spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of the ground.
May the glory of the LORD continue forever! The LORD takes pleasure in all he has made!31May the glory of the LORD endure forever; may the LORD rejoice in his works,
The earth trembles at his glance; the mountains smoke at his touch.32who looks on the earth and it trembles, who touches the mountains and they smoke!
I will sing to the LORD as long as I live. I will praise my God to my last breath!33I will sing to the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have being.
May all my thoughts be pleasing to him, for I rejoice in the LORD.34May my meditation be pleasing to him, for I rejoice in the LORD.
Let all sinners vanish from the face of the earth; let the wicked disappear forever. Let all that I am praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!35Let sinners be consumed from the earth, and let the wicked be no more! Bless the LORD, O my soul! Praise the LORD!
