Psalm 104
NLT Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationNew International Version
Let all that I am praise the LORD. O LORD my God, how great you are! You are robed with honor and majesty.1Praise the LORD, my soul. LORD my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty.
You are dressed in a robe of light. You stretch out the starry curtain of the heavens;2The LORD wraps himself in light as with a garment; he stretches out the heavens like a tent
you lay out the rafters of your home in the rain clouds. You make the clouds your chariot; you ride upon the wings of the wind.3and lays the beams of his upper chambers on their waters. He makes the clouds his chariot and rides on the wings of the wind.
The winds are your messengers; flames of fire are your servants.4He makes winds his messengers, flames of fire his servants.
You placed the world on its foundation so it would never be moved.5He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved.
You clothed the earth with floods of water, water that covered even the mountains.6You covered it with the watery depths as with a garment; the waters stood above the mountains.
At your command, the water fled; at the sound of your thunder, it hurried away.7But at your rebuke the waters fled, at the sound of your thunder they took to flight;
Mountains rose and valleys sank to the levels you decreed.8they flowed over the mountains, they went down into the valleys, to the place you assigned for them.
Then you set a firm boundary for the seas, so they would never again cover the earth.9You set a boundary they cannot cross; never again will they cover the earth.
You make springs pour water into the ravines, so streams gush down from the mountains.10He makes springs pour water into the ravines; it flows between the mountains.
They provide water for all the animals, and the wild donkeys quench their thirst.11They give water to all the beasts of the field; the wild donkeys quench their thirst.
The birds nest beside the streams and sing among the branches of the trees.12The birds of the sky nest by the waters; they sing among the branches.
You send rain on the mountains from your heavenly home, and you fill the earth with the fruit of your labor.13He waters the mountains from his upper chambers; the land is satisfied by the fruit of his work.
You cause grass to grow for the livestock and plants for people to use. You allow them to produce food from the earth—14He makes grass grow for the cattle, and plants for people to cultivate-- bringing forth food from the earth:
wine to make them glad, olive oil to soothe their skin, and bread to give them strength.15wine that gladdens human hearts, oil to make their faces shine, and bread that sustains their hearts.
The trees of the LORD are well cared for— the cedars of Lebanon that he planted.16The trees of the LORD are well watered, the cedars of Lebanon that he planted.
There the birds make their nests, and the storks make their homes in the cypresses.17There the birds make their nests; the stork has its home in the junipers.
High in the mountains live the wild goats, and the rocks form a refuge for the hyraxes.18The high mountains belong to the wild goats; the crags are a refuge for the hyrax.
You made the moon to mark the seasons, and the sun knows when to set.19He made the moon to mark the seasons, and the sun knows when to go down.
You send the darkness, and it becomes night, when all the forest animals prowl about.20You bring darkness, it becomes night, and all the beasts of the forest prowl.
Then the young lions roar for their prey, stalking the food provided by God.21The lions roar for their prey and seek their food from God.
At dawn they slink back into their dens to rest.22The sun rises, and they steal away; they return and lie down in their dens.
Then people go off to their work, where they labor until evening.23Then people go out to their work, to their labor until evening.
O LORD, what a variety of things you have made! In wisdom you have made them all. The earth is full of your creatures.24How many are your works, LORD! In wisdom you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures.
Here is the ocean, vast and wide, teeming with life of every kind, both large and small.25There is the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond number-- living things both large and small.
See the ships sailing along, and Leviathan, which you made to play in the sea.26There the ships go to and fro, and Leviathan, which you formed to frolic there.
They all depend on you to give them food as they need it.27All creatures look to you to give them their food at the proper time.
When you supply it, they gather it. You open your hand to feed them, and they are richly satisfied.28When you give it to them, they gather it up; when you open your hand, they are satisfied with good things.
But if you turn away from them, they panic. When you take away their breath, they die and turn again to dust.29When you hide your face, they are terrified; when you take away their breath, they die and return to the dust.
When you give them your breath, life is created, and you renew the face of the earth.30When you send your Spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of the ground.
May the glory of the LORD continue forever! The LORD takes pleasure in all he has made!31May the glory of the LORD endure forever; may the LORD rejoice in his works--
The earth trembles at his glance; the mountains smoke at his touch.32he who looks at the earth, and it trembles, who touches the mountains, and they smoke.
I will sing to the LORD as long as I live. I will praise my God to my last breath!33I will sing to the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
May all my thoughts be pleasing to him, for I rejoice in the LORD.34May my meditation be pleasing to him, as I rejoice in the LORD.
Let all sinners vanish from the face of the earth; let the wicked disappear forever. Let all that I am praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!35But may sinners vanish from the earth and the wicked be no more. Praise the LORD, my soul. Praise the LORD.
