New Living TranslationNew International Version
Then Moses went up to Mount Nebo from the plains of Moab and climbed Pisgah Peak, which is across from Jericho. And the LORD showed him the whole land, from Gilead as far as Dan;1Then Moses climbed Mount Nebo from the plains of Moab to the top of Pisgah, across from Jericho. There the LORD showed him the whole land--from Gilead to Dan,
all the land of Naphtali; the land of Ephraim and Manasseh; all the land of Judah, extending to the Mediterranean Sea ;2all of Naphtali, the territory of Ephraim and Manasseh, all the land of Judah as far as the Mediterranean Sea,
the Negev; the Jordan Valley with Jericho—the city of palms—as far as Zoar.3the Negev and the whole region from the Valley of Jericho, the City of Palms, as far as Zoar.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “This is the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob when I said, ‘I will give it to your descendants.’ I have now allowed you to see it with your own eyes, but you will not enter the land.”4Then the LORD said to him, "This is the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob when I said, 'I will give it to your descendants.' I have let you see it with your eyes, but you will not cross over into it."
So Moses, the servant of the LORD, died there in the land of Moab, just as the LORD had said.5And Moses the servant of the LORD died there in Moab, as the LORD had said.
The LORD buried him in a valley near Beth-peor in Moab, but to this day no one knows the exact place.6He buried him in Moab, in the valley opposite Beth Peor, but to this day no one knows where his grave is.
Moses was 120 years old when he died, yet his eyesight was clear, and he was as strong as ever.7Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died, yet his eyes were not weak nor his strength gone.
The people of Israel mourned for Moses on the plains of Moab for thirty days, until the customary period of mourning was over.8The Israelites grieved for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days, until the time of weeping and mourning was over.
Now Joshua son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him. So the people of Israel obeyed him, doing just as the LORD had commanded Moses.9Now Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom because Moses had laid his hands on him. So the Israelites listened to him and did what the LORD had commanded Moses.
There has never been another prophet in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face.10Since then, no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face,
The LORD sent him to perform all the miraculous signs and wonders in the land of Egypt against Pharaoh, and all his servants, and his entire land.11who did all those signs and wonders the LORD sent him to do in Egypt--to Pharaoh and to all his officials and to his whole land.
With mighty power, Moses performed terrifying acts in the sight of all Israel.12For no one has ever shown the mighty power or performed the awesome deeds that Moses did in the sight of all Israel.
