Then Moses went up to Mount Nebo from the plains of Moab and climbed Pisgah Peak, which is across from Jericho. And the LORD showed him the whole land, from Gilead as far as Dan;1Then Moses ascended from the deserts of Moab to Mount Nebo, to the summit of Pisgah, which is opposite Jericho. The LORD showed him the whole land--Gilead to Dan,
all the land of Naphtali; the land of Ephraim and Manasseh; all the land of Judah, extending to the Mediterranean Sea ;2and all of Naphtali, the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, all the land of Judah as far as the distant sea,
the Negev; the Jordan Valley with Jericho—the city of palms—as far as Zoar.3the Negev, and the plain of the valley of Jericho, the city of the date palm trees, as far as Zoar.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “This is the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob when I said, ‘I will give it to your descendants.’ I have now allowed you to see it with your own eyes, but you will not enter the land.”4Then the LORD said to him, "This is the land I promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob when I said, 'I will give it to your descendants.' I have let you see it, but you will not cross over there."
So Moses, the servant of the LORD, died there in the land of Moab, just as the LORD had said.5So Moses, the servant of the LORD, died there in the land of Moab as the LORD had said.
The LORD buried him in a valley near Beth-peor in Moab, but to this day no one knows the exact place.6He buried him in the land of Moab near Beth Peor, but no one knows his exact burial place to this very day.
Moses was 120 years old when he died, yet his eyesight was clear, and he was as strong as ever.7Moses was 120 years old when he died, but his eye was not dull nor had his vitality departed.
The people of Israel mourned for Moses on the plains of Moab for thirty days, until the customary period of mourning was over.8The Israelites mourned for Moses in the deserts of Moab for thirty days; then the days of mourning for Moses ended.
Now Joshua son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him. So the people of Israel obeyed him, doing just as the LORD had commanded Moses.9Now Joshua son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had placed his hands on him; and the Israelites listened to him and did just what the LORD had commanded Moses.
There has never been another prophet in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face.10No prophet ever again arose in Israel like Moses, who knew the LORD face to face.
The LORD sent him to perform all the miraculous signs and wonders in the land of Egypt against Pharaoh, and all his servants, and his entire land.11He did all the signs and wonders the LORD had sent him to do in the land of Egypt, to Pharaoh, all his servants, and the whole land,
With mighty power, Moses performed terrifying acts in the sight of all Israel.12and he displayed great power and awesome might in view of all Israel.
