Remember Yahweh Your God

1  כָּל־ (Every) הַמִּצְוָ֗ה (commandment) אֲשֶׁ֨ר (that) אָנֹכִ֧י (I) מְצַוְּךָ֛ (command you) הַיּ֖וֹם (today) תִּשְׁמְר֣וּן (you⁺ must be careful) לַעֲשׂ֑וֹת (to do), לְמַ֨עַן (so that) תִּֽחְי֜וּן (you⁺ may live) וּרְבִיתֶ֗ם (and multiply) וּבָאתֶם֙ (and go in) וִֽירִשְׁתֶּ֣ם (and possess) אֶת־ (-) הָאָ֔רֶץ (the land) אֲשֶׁר־ (that) נִשְׁבַּ֥ע (has sworn) יְהוָ֖ה (YHWH) לַאֲבֹתֵיכֶֽם׃ (to your⁺ fathers). 2  וְזָכַרְתָּ֣ (And you shall remember) אֶת־ (-) כָּל־ (all) הַדֶּ֗רֶךְ (the way) אֲשֶׁ֨ר (that) הֹלִֽיכֲךָ֜ (led you) יְהוָ֧ה (YHWH) אֱלֹהֶ֛יךָ (your God) זֶ֛ה (this) אַרְבָּעִ֥ים (forty) שָׁנָ֖ה (years) בַּמִּדְבָּ֑ר (in the wilderness), לְמַ֨עַן (to) עַנֹּֽתְךָ֜ (humble you) לְנַסֹּֽתְךָ֗ (and test you) לָדַ֜עַת (to know) אֶת־ (-) אֲשֶׁ֧ר (what was) בִּֽלְבָבְךָ֛ (in your heart), הֲתִשְׁמֹ֥ר (whether you would keep) מִצְוֹתוֹ (His commandments) אִם־ (or) לֹֽא׃ (not).

3  וַֽיְעַנְּךָ֮ (And He humbled you) וַיַּרְעִבֶךָ֒ (and allowed you to hunger), וַיַּֽאֲכִֽלְךָ֤ (and fed you) אֶת (-) הַמָּן֙ (with manna), אֲשֶׁ֣ר (which) לֹא־ (not), יָדַ֔עְתָּ (you did know) וְלֹ֥א (and not) יָדְע֖וּן (did know) אֲבֹתֶ֑יךָ (your fathers), לְמַ֣עַן (so that) הוֹדִֽעֲךָ֗ (He might make you know) כִּ֠י (that) לֹ֣א (not) עַל־ (by) הַלֶּ֤חֶם (bread) לְבַדּוֹ֙ (alone) יִחְיֶ֣ה (shall live) הָֽאָדָ֔ם (the man); כִּ֛י (but) עַל־ (by) כָּל־ (every word) מוֹצָ֥א (that proceeds from) פִֽי־ (the mouth) יְהוָ֖ה (of YHWH) יִחְיֶ֥ה (shall live) הָאָדָֽם׃ (the man). 4  שִׂמְלָ֨תְךָ֜ (Your garments) לֹ֤א (not) בָֽלְתָה֙ (did wear out) מֵֽעָלֶ֔יךָ (from you) וְרַגְלְךָ֖ (and your foot) לֹ֣א (not) בָצֵ֑קָה (did swell) זֶ֖ה (this) אַרְבָּעִ֥ים (forty) שָׁנָֽה׃ (years).

5  וְיָדַעְתָּ֖ (And you shall know) עִם־ (in) לְבָבֶ֑ךָ (your heart) כִּ֗י (that), כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר (as) יְיַסֵּ֥ר (disciplines) אִישׁ֙ (a man) אֶת־ (-) בְּנ֔וֹ (his son), יְהוָ֥ה (YHWH) אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ (your God) מְיַסְּרֶֽךָּ׃ (disciplines you). 6  וְשָׁ֣מַרְתָּ֔ (And you shall keep) אֶת־ (-) מִצְוֺ֖ת (the commandments) יְהוָ֣ה (of YHWH) אֱלֹהֶ֑יךָ (your God), לָלֶ֥כֶת (to walk) בִּדְרָכָ֖יו (in His ways) וּלְיִרְאָ֥ה (and to fear) אֹתֽוֹ׃ (Him).

7  כִּ֚י (For) יְהוָ֣ה (YHWH) אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ (your God) מְבִֽיאֲךָ֖ (is bringing you) אֶל־ (into) אֶ֣רֶץ (a land) טוֹבָ֑ה (good), אֶ֚רֶץ (a land) נַ֣חֲלֵי (of brooks) מָ֔יִם (of water), עֲיָנֹת֙ (of fountains) וּתְהֹמֹ֔ת (and springs) יֹצְאִ֥ים (flowing out) בַּבִּקְעָ֖ה (of valleys) וּבָהָֽר׃ (and hills); 8  אֶ֤רֶץ (a land) חִטָּה֙ (of wheat), וּשְׂעֹרָ֔ה (and barley), וְגֶ֥פֶן (and vines), וּתְאֵנָ֖ה (and fig trees), וְרִמּ֑וֹן (and pomegranates); אֶֽרֶץ־ (a land) זֵ֥ית (of olive) שֶׁ֖מֶן (oil) וּדְבָֽשׁ׃ (and honey); 9  אֶ֗רֶץ (a land) אֲשֶׁ֨ר (which) לֹ֤א (without) בְמִסְכֵּנֻת֙ (scarcity) תֹּֽאכַל־ (you will eat) בָּ֣הּ (in it); לֶ֔חֶם (bread) לֹֽא־ (not) תֶחְסַ֥ר (you will lack) כֹּ֖ל (any) בָּ֑הּ (in which); אֶ֚רֶץ (a land) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (whose) אֲבָנֶ֣יהָ (stones) בַרְזֶ֔ל (are iron), וּמֵהֲרָרֶ֖יהָ (and from the hills) תַּחְצֹ֥ב (you can dig) נְחֹֽשֶׁת׃ (copper). 10  וְאָכַלְתָּ֖ (And you will eat) וְשָׂבָ֑עְתָּ (and be satisfied); וּבֵֽרַכְתָּ֙ (and you will bless) אֶת־ (-) יְהוָ֣ה (YHWH) אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ (your God) עַל־ (for) הָאָ֥רֶץ (the land) הַטֹּבָ֖ה (good) אֲשֶׁ֥ר (that) נָֽתַן־ (He has given) לָֽךְ׃ (you).

11  הִשָּׁ֣מֶר (Take heed) לְךָ֔ (to it) פֶּן־ (not) תִּשְׁכַּ֖ח (that you forget) אֶת־ (-) יְהוָ֣ה (YHWH) אֱלֹהֶ֑יךָ (your God), לְבִלְתִּ֨י (by not) שְׁמֹ֤ר (keeping) מִצְוֺתָיו֙ (His commandments) וּמִשְׁפָּטָ֣יו (and His ordinances) וְחֻקֹּתָ֔יו (and His statutes), אֲשֶׁ֛ר (which) אָנֹכִ֥י (I) מְצַוְּךָ֖ (command you) הַיּֽוֹם׃ (today)— 12  פֶּן־ (lest) תֹּאכַ֖ל (you eat) וְשָׂבָ֑עְתָּ (and be satisfied), וּבָתִּ֥ים (and houses) טוֹבִ֛ים (beautiful) תִּבְנֶ֖ה (and build) וְיָשָֽׁבְתָּ׃ (and inhabit). 13  וּבְקָֽרְךָ֤ (And your herd) וְצֹֽאנְךָ֙ (and your flock) יִרְבְּיֻ֔ן (multiply), וְכֶ֥סֶף (and your silver) וְזָהָ֖ב (and your gold) יִרְבֶּה־ (multiply) לָּ֑ךְ (to you); וְכֹ֥ל (and all) אֲשֶׁר־ (that) לְךָ֖ (is to you) יִרְבֶּֽה׃ (is multiplied); 14  וְרָ֖ם (and is lifted up), לְבָבֶ֑ךָ (your heart) וְשָֽׁכַחְתָּ֙ (and you forget) אֶת־ (-) יְהוָ֣ה (YHWH) אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ (your God), הַמּוֹצִיאֲךָ֛ (who brought you) מֵאֶ֥רֶץ (out of the land) מִצְרַ֖יִם (of Egypt), מִבֵּ֥ית (from the house) עֲבָדִֽים׃ (of slavery); 15  הַמּוֹלִ֨יכֲךָ֜ (who led you) בַּמִּדְבָּ֣ר׀ (in the wilderness), הַגָּדֹ֣ל (the great) וְהַנּוֹרָ֗א (and the terrible), נָחָ֤שׁ׀ (with serpents) שָׂרָף֙ (fiery) וְעַקְרָ֔ב (and scorpions), וְצִמָּא֖וֹן (and thirsty land) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (where) אֵֽין־ (not) מָ֑יִם (there was water); הַמּוֹצִ֤יא (who brought) לְךָ֙ (for you) מַ֔יִם (water) מִצּ֖וּר (out of the rock) הַֽחַלָּמִֽישׁ׃ (of flint); 16  הַמַּֽאֲכִ֨לְךָ֥ (who fed you) מָן֙ (with manna) בַּמִּדְבָּ֔ר (in the wilderness) אֲשֶׁ֥ר (that) לֹא־ (not) יָדְע֖וּן (did know) אֲבֹתֶ֑יךָ (your fathers), לְמַ֣עַן (so that) עַנֹּֽתְךָ֗ (He might humble you), וּלְמַ֙עַן֙ (that) נַסֹּתֶ֔ךָ (He might test you) לְהֵיטִֽבְךָ֖ (to do you good) בְּאַחֲרִיתֶֽךָ׃ (in the end); 17  וְאָמַרְתָּ֖ (and you say) בִּלְבָבֶ֑ךָ (in your heart), כֹּחִי֙ (My power) וְעֹ֣צֶם (and the might) יָדִ֔י (of my hand) עָ֥שָׂה (have gained) לִ֖י (me) אֶת־ (-) הַחַ֥יִל (the wealth) הַזֶּֽה׃ (this). 18  וְזָֽכַרְתָּ֙ (And you shall remember) אֶת־ (-) יְהוָ֣ה (YHWH) אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ (your God), כִּ֣י (for) ה֗וּא (He) הַנֹּתֵ֥ן (gives) לְךָ֛ (you) כֹּ֖חַ (power) לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת (to gain) חָ֑יִל (wealth), לְמַ֨עַן (that) הָקִ֧ים (He may establish) אֶת־ (-) בְּרִית֛וֹ (His covenant) אֲשֶׁר־ (that) נִשְׁבַּ֥ע (He swore) לַאֲבֹתֶ֖יךָ (to your fathers), כַּיּ֥וֹם (as in the day) הַזֶּֽה׃פ (this).

19  וְהָיָ֗ה (And it shall come to pass), אִם־ (if) שָׁכֹ֤חַ (forgetting) תִּשְׁכַּח֙ (you ever forget) אֶת־ (-) יְהוָ֣ה (YHWH) אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ (your God) וְהָֽלַכְתָּ֗ (and follow) אַחֲרֵי֙ (after) אֱלֹהִ֣ים (gods) אֲחֵרִ֔ים (other), וַעֲבַדְתָּ֖ם (and serve them) וְהִשְׁתַּחֲוִ֣יתָ (and worship) לָהֶ֑ם (them), הַעִדֹ֤תִי (I testify) בָכֶם֙ (against you⁺) הַיּ֔וֹם (this day) כִּ֥י (that) אָבֹ֖ד (perishing) תֹּאבֵדֽוּן׃ (you⁺ will perish). 20  כַּגּוֹיִ֗ם (As the nations) אֲשֶׁ֤ר (that) יְהוָה֙ (YHWH) מַאֲבִ֣יד (destroys) מִפְּנֵיכֶ֔ם (before you⁺), כֵּ֖ן (so) תֹאבֵד֑וּן (you⁺ shall perish), עֵ֚קֶב (because) לֹ֣א (not) תִשְׁמְע֔וּן (you⁺ would listen) בְּק֖וֹל (to the voice) יְהוָ֥ה (of YHWH) אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃פ (your⁺ God).
