(Numbers 5:1–4)

1  וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר (And spoke) יְהוָ֔ה (YHWH) אֶל־ (to) מֹשֶׁ֥ה (Moses) וְאֶֽל־ (and to) אַהֲרֹ֖ן (Aaron), לֵאמֹֽר׃ (saying), 2  אָדָ֗ם (A man) כִּֽי־ (when) יִהְיֶ֤ה (he has) בְעוֹר־ (on the skin) בְּשָׂרוֹ֙ (of his body) שְׂאֵ֤ת (a swelling), אֽוֹ־ (or) סַפַּ֙חַת֙ (a scab), א֣וֹ (or) בַהֶ֔רֶת (a bright spot), וְהָיָ֥ה (and it becomes) בְעוֹר־ (in the skin) בְּשָׂר֖וֹ (of his flesh) לְנֶ֣גַע (a plague) צָרָ֑עַת (of leprosy), וְהוּבָא֙ (then he shall be brought) אֶל־ (to) אַהֲרֹ֣ן (Aaron) הַכֹּהֵ֔ן (the priest) א֛וֹ (or) אֶל־ (to) אַחַ֥ד (one) מִבָּנָ֖יו (from his sons) הַכֹּהֲנִֽים׃ (the priests).

3  וְרָאָ֣ה (And shall examine) הַכֹּהֵ֣ן (the priest) אֶת־ (-) הַנֶּ֣גַע (the plague) בְּעֽוֹר־ (in the skin) הַ֠בָּשָׂר (of his flesh). וְשֵׂעָ֨ר (And if the hair) בַּנֶּ֜גַע (in the plague) הָפַ֣ךְ׀ (has turned) לָבָ֗ן (white), וּמַרְאֵ֤ה (and the appearance) הַנֶּ֙גַע֙ (of the plague) עָמֹק֙ (is deeper) מֵע֣וֹר (than the skin) בְּשָׂר֔וֹ (of his body), נֶ֥גַע (a plague) צָרַ֖עַת (of leprosy) ה֑וּא (it is); וְרָאָ֥הוּ (and shall examine him) הַכֹּהֵ֖ן (the priest) וְטִמֵּ֥א (and he shall pronounce unclean) אֹתֽוֹ׃ (him).

4  וְאִם־ (And if) בַּהֶרֶת֩ (the bright spot) לְבָנָ֨ה (white) הִ֜וא (is) בְּע֣וֹר (in the skin) בְּשָׂר֗וֹ (of his flesh), וְעָמֹק֙ (and is deeper) אֵין־ (not) מַרְאֶ֣הָ (its appearance) מִן־ (than) הָע֔וֹר (the skin), וּשְׂעָרָ֖ה (and its hair) לֹא־ (not) הָפַ֣ךְ (has turned) לָבָ֑ן (white), וְהִסְגִּ֧יר (and shall shut up) הַכֹּהֵ֛ן (the priest) אֶת־ (-) הַנֶּ֖גַע (the one with the plague) שִׁבְעַ֥ת (seven) יָמִֽים׃ (days). 5  וְרָאָ֣הוּ (And shall examine him) הַכֹּהֵן֮ (the priest) בַּיּ֣וֹם (on the day) הַשְּׁבִיעִי֒ (the seventh), וְהִנֵּ֤ה (and behold) הַנֶּ֙גַע֙ (if the plague) עָמַ֣ד (has stood) בְּעֵינָ֔יו (in his eyes) לֹֽא־ (and not) פָשָׂ֥ה (has spread) הַנֶּ֖גַע (the plague) בָּע֑וֹר (in the skin), וְהִסְגִּיר֧וֹ (and shall shut him up) הַכֹּהֵ֛ן (the priest) שִׁבְעַ֥ת (seven) יָמִ֖ים (days) שֵׁנִֽית׃ (a second). 6  וְרָאָה֩ (And shall examine) הַכֹּהֵ֨ן (the priest) אֹת֜וֹ (him) בַּיּ֣וֹם (on the day) הַשְּׁבִיעִי֮ (the seventh) שֵׁנִית֒ (second), וְהִנֵּה֙ (and behold) כֵּהָ֣ה (has faded) הַנֶּ֔גַע (if the plague) וְלֹא־ (and not) פָשָׂ֥ה (has spread) הַנֶּ֖גַע (the plague) בָּע֑וֹר (in the skin), וְטִהֲר֤וֹ (and shall pronounce him clean) הַכֹּהֵן֙ (the priest). מִסְפַּ֣חַת (A scab) הִ֔יא (it is), וְכִבֶּ֥ס (and he shall wash) בְּגָדָ֖יו (his clothes) וְטָהֵֽר׃ (and he shall be clean).

7  וְאִם־ (And if) פָּשֹׂ֨ה (spreading) תִפְשֶׂ֤ה (it spreads) הַמִּסְפַּ֙חַת֙ (the scab) בָּע֔וֹר (in the skin), אַחֲרֵ֧י (after) הֵרָאֹת֛וֹ (he has been seen) אֶל־ (by) הַכֹּהֵ֖ן (the priest) לְטָהֳרָת֑וֹ (for his cleansing), וְנִרְאָ֥ה (and he shall be seen) שֵׁנִ֖ית (a second time) אֶל־ (by) הַכֹּהֵֽן׃ (the priest). 8  וְרָאָה֙ (And shall examine him) הַכֹּהֵ֔ן (the priest) וְהִנֵּ֛ה (and behold) פָּשְׂתָ֥ה (has spread) הַמִּסְפַּ֖חַת (if the scab) בָּע֑וֹר (in the skin), וְטִמְּא֥וֹ (and shall pronounce him unclean) הַכֹּהֵ֖ן (the priest); צָרַ֥עַת (leprosy) הִֽוא׃פ (it is).

9  נֶ֣גַע (A plague) צָרַ֔עַת (leprous) כִּ֥י (when) תִהְיֶ֖ה (it is) בְּאָדָ֑ם (in a man), וְהוּבָ֖א (and he shall be brought) אֶל־ (to) הַכֹּהֵֽן׃ (the priest). 10  וְרָאָ֣ה (And shall examine him) הַכֹּהֵ֗ן (the priest), וְהִנֵּ֤ה (and behold) שְׂאֵת־ (if the swelling) לְבָנָה֙ (is white) בָּע֔וֹר (in the skin), וְהִ֕יא (and it) הָפְכָ֖ה (has turned) שֵׂעָ֣ר (the hair) לָבָ֑ן (white), וּמִֽחְיַ֛ת (and there is a spot) בָּשָׂ֥ר (of flesh) חַ֖י (living) בַּשְׂאֵֽת׃ (in the swelling), 11  צָרַ֨עַת (a leprosy) נוֹשֶׁ֤נֶת (old) הִוא֙ (it is) בְּע֣וֹר (in the skin) בְּשָׂר֔וֹ (of his body), וְטִמְּא֖וֹ (and shall pronounce him unclean) הַכֹּהֵ֑ן (the priest). לֹ֣א (Not) יַסְגִּרֶ֔נּוּ (he shall shut him up), כִּ֥י (for) טָמֵ֖א (unclean) הֽוּא׃ (he is).

12  וְאִם־ (And if) פָּר֨וֹחַ (breaking out) תִּפְרַ֤ח (it breaks out) הַצָּרַ֙עַת֙ (leprosy) בָּע֔וֹר (in the skin), וְכִסְּתָ֣ה (and covers) הַצָּרַ֗עַת (the leprosy) אֵ֚ת (-) כָּל־ (all) ע֣וֹר (the skin) הַנֶּ֔גַע (of the one with the plague) מֵרֹאשׁ֖וֹ (from his head) וְעַד־ (and to) רַגְלָ֑יו (his feet), לְכָל־ (to all) מַרְאֵ֖ה (that appears) עֵינֵ֥י (to the eye) הַכֹּהֵֽן׃ (of the priest). 13  וְרָאָ֣ה (And shall examine him) הַכֹּהֵ֗ן (the priest), וְהִנֵּ֨ה (and behold), כִסְּתָ֤ה (has covered) הַצָּרַ֙עַת֙ (if the leprosy) אֶת־ (-) כָּל־ (all) בְּשָׂר֔וֹ (his flesh), וְטִהַ֖ר (and he shall pronounce him clean) אֶת־ (-) הַנָּ֑גַע (the one with the plague); כֻּלּ֛וֹ (all) הָפַ֥ךְ (it has turned) לָבָ֖ן (white), טָה֥וֹר (clean) הֽוּא׃ (he is).

14  וּבְי֨וֹם (And in the day of) הֵרָא֥וֹת (the appearing of) בּ֛וֹ (in him) בָּשָׂ֥ר (flesh) חַ֖י (living), יִטְמָֽא׃ (he shall be unclean). 15  וְרָאָ֧ה (And shall examine) הַכֹּהֵ֛ן (the priest) אֶת־ (-) הַבָּשָׂ֥ר (the flesh) הַחַ֖י (living) וְטִמְּא֑וֹ (and pronounce him unclean), הַבָּשָׂ֥ר (the flesh) הַחַ֛י (living) טָמֵ֥א (is unclean); ה֖וּא (it is) צָרַ֥עַת (leprosy) הֽוּא׃ (-). 16  א֣וֹ (Or) כִ֥י (if) יָשׁ֛וּב (turns back) הַבָּשָׂ֥ר (the flesh) הַחַ֖י (living), וְנֶהְפַּ֣ךְ (and it is turned) לְלָבָ֑ן (to white), וּבָ֖א (and he shall come) אֶל־ (to) הַכֹּהֵֽן׃ (the priest), 17  וְרָאָ֙הוּ֙ (and shall examine him) הַכֹּהֵ֔ן (the priest), וְהִנֵּ֛ה (and behold) נֶהְפַּ֥ךְ (has turned) הַנֶּ֖גַע (if the plague) לְלָבָ֑ן (to white), וְטִהַ֧ר (and shall pronounce clean) הַכֹּהֵ֛ן (the priest) אֶת־ (-) הַנֶּ֖גַע (the who has plague); טָה֥וֹר (clean) הֽוּא׃פ (he is).

18  וּבָשָׂ֕ר (And the flesh) כִּֽי־ (when) יִהְיֶ֥ה (has) בֽוֹ־ (-) בְעֹר֖וֹ (in the skin) שְׁחִ֑ין (a boil), וְנִרְפָּֽא׃ (and it is healed), 19  וְהָיָ֞ה (and there is) בִּמְק֤וֹם (in the place) הַשְּׁחִין֙ (of the boil) שְׂאֵ֣ת (a swelling) לְבָנָ֔ה (white), א֥וֹ (or) בַהֶ֖רֶת (a bright spot) לְבָנָ֣ה (white), אֲדַמְדָּ֑מֶת (reddish), וְנִרְאָ֖ה (and it shall be shown) אֶל־ (to) הַכֹּהֵֽן׃ (the priest). 20  וְרָאָ֣ה (And shall examine him) הַכֹּהֵ֗ן (the priest) וְהִנֵּ֤ה (and behold), מַרְאֶ֙הָ֙ (if its appearance) שָׁפָ֣ל (is lower) מִן־ (than) הָע֔וֹר (the skin), וּשְׂעָרָ֖הּ (and its hair) הָפַ֣ךְ (has turned) לָבָ֑ן (white), וְטִמְּא֧וֹ (and shall pronounce him unclean) הַכֹּהֵ֛ן (the priest); נֶֽגַע־ (a plague) צָרַ֥עַת (of leprosy) הִ֖וא (it is) בַּשְּׁחִ֥ין (in the boil) פָּרָֽחָה׃ (it has broken out).

21  וְאִ֣ם׀ (And if) יִרְאֶ֣נָּה (examines it) הַכֹּהֵ֗ן (the priest) וְהִנֵּ֤ה (and behold), אֵֽין־ (there is not) בָּהּ֙ (in it) שֵׂעָ֣ר (hair) לָבָ֔ן (white), וּשְׁפָלָ֥ה (and it is lower) אֵינֶ֛נָּה (not) מִן־ (than) הָע֖וֹר (the skin), וְהִ֣יא (and it) כֵהָ֑ה (has faded), וְהִסְגִּיר֥וֹ (and shall shut him up) הַכֹּהֵ֖ן (the priest) שִׁבְעַ֥ת (seven) יָמִֽים׃ (days); 22  וְאִם־ (and if) פָּשֹׂ֥ה (spreading) תִפְשֶׂ֖ה (it spreads) בָּע֑וֹר (in the skin), וְטִמֵּ֧א (and shall pronounce him unclean) הַכֹּהֵ֛ן (the priest) אֹת֖וֹ (-); נֶ֥גַע (a plague) הִֽוא׃ (it is). 23  וְאִם־ (And if) תַּחְתֶּ֜יהָ (in its place) תַּעֲמֹ֤ד (stands) הַבַּהֶ֙רֶת֙ (the bright spot), לֹ֣א (not) פָשָׂ֔תָה (it has spread), צָרֶ֥בֶת (the scar) הַשְּׁחִ֖ין (of the boil) הִ֑וא (it is); וְטִהֲר֖וֹ (and shall pronounce him clean) הַכֹּהֵֽן׃ס (the priest).

24  א֣וֹ (Or) בָשָׂ֔ר (the flesh), כִּֽי־ (if) יִהְיֶ֥ה (has) בְעֹר֖וֹ (in its skin) מִכְוַת־ (a burn) אֵ֑שׁ (of fire), וְֽהָיְתָ֞ה (and becomes) מִֽחְיַ֣ת (the raw spot) הַמִּכְוָ֗ה (of the burn) בַּהֶ֛רֶת (a bright spot) לְבָנָ֥ה (white), אֲדַמְדֶּ֖מֶת (reddish), א֥וֹ (or) לְבָנָֽה׃ (white), 25  וְרָאָ֣ה (and shall examine) אֹתָ֣הּ (it) הַכֹּהֵ֡ן (the priest), וְהִנֵּ֣ה (and behold) נֶהְפַּךְ֩ (has been turned) שֵׂעָ֨ר (if the hair) לָבָ֜ן (white), בַּבַּהֶ֗רֶת (in the bright spot) וּמַרְאֶ֙הָ֙ (and its appearance) עָמֹ֣ק (is deeper) מִן־ (than) הָע֔וֹר (the skin), צָרַ֣עַת (leprosy) הִ֔וא (it is). בַּמִּכְוָ֖ה (In the burn) פָּרָ֑חָה (it has broken out), וְטִמֵּ֤א (and shall pronounce him unclean) אֹתוֹ֙ (-) הַכֹּהֵ֔ן (the priest); נֶ֥גַע (a plague) צָרַ֖עַת (leprous) הִֽוא׃ (it is).

26  וְאִ֣ם׀ (And if) יִרְאֶ֣נָּה (examines it) הַכֹּהֵ֗ן (the priest), וְהִנֵּ֤ה (and behold) אֵֽין־ (there is not) בַּבֶּהֶ֙רֶת֙ (in the bright spot) שֵׂעָ֣ר (hair) לָבָ֔ן (white), וּשְׁפָלָ֥ה (and it is lower) אֵינֶ֛נָּה (not) מִן־ (than) הָע֖וֹר (the skin), וְהִ֣וא (and it) כֵהָ֑ה (has faded), וְהִסְגִּיר֥וֹ (and shall shut him up) הַכֹּהֵ֖ן (the priest) שִׁבְעַ֥ת (seven) יָמִֽים׃ (days). 27  וְרָאָ֥הוּ (And shall examine him) הַכֹּהֵ֖ן (the priest) בַּיּ֣וֹם (on the day) הַשְּׁבִיעִ֑י (the seventh), אִם־ (and if) פָּשֹׂ֤ה (spreading) תִפְשֶׂה֙ (it has spread) בָּע֔וֹר (in the skin), וְטִמֵּ֤א (and shall pronounce him unclean) הַכֹּהֵן֙ (the priest) אֹת֔וֹ (-) נֶ֥גַע (a plague) צָרַ֖עַת (leprous) הִֽוא׃ (it is). 28  וְאִם־ (And if) תַּחְתֶּיהָ֩ (in its place) תַעֲמֹ֨ד (stays) הַבַּהֶ֜רֶת (the bright spot), לֹא־ (not) פָשְׂתָ֤ה (it has spread) בָעוֹר֙ (in the skin), וְהִ֣וא (and it) כֵהָ֔ה (has faded), שְׂאֵ֥ת (the swelling) הַמִּכְוָ֖ה (of the burn) הִ֑וא (it is). וְטִֽהֲרוֹ֙ (And shall pronounce him clean) הַכֹּהֵ֔ן (the priest), כִּֽי־ (for) צָרֶ֥בֶת (the scar) הַמִּכְוָ֖ה (of the burn) הִֽוא׃פ (it is).

29  וְאִישׁ֙ (And a man) א֣וֹ (or) אִשָּׁ֔ה (woman) כִּֽי־ (if) יִהְיֶ֥ה (has) ב֖וֹ (in him) נָ֑גַע (a plague) בְּרֹ֖אשׁ (in the head) א֥וֹ (or) בְזָקָֽן׃ (in the beard), 30  וְרָאָ֨ה (and shall examine) הַכֹּהֵ֜ן (the priest) אֶת־ (-) הַנֶּ֗גַע (the plague), וְהִנֵּ֤ה (and indeed) מַרְאֵ֙הוּ֙ (if its appearance) עָמֹ֣ק (is deeper) מִן־ (than) הָע֔וֹר (the skin). וּב֛וֹ (And in it) שֵׂעָ֥ר (is hair) צָהֹ֖ב (yellow) דָּ֑ק (thin), וְטִמֵּ֨א (and shall pronounce him unclean) אֹת֤וֹ (-) הַכֹּהֵן֙ (the priest); נֶ֣תֶק (a scale) ה֔וּא (it is)— צָרַ֧עַת (a leprosy) הָרֹ֛אשׁ (of the head) א֥וֹ (or) הַזָּקָ֖ן (of the beard) הֽוּא׃ (it is).

31  וְכִֽי־ (And if) יִרְאֶ֨ה (examines) הַכֹּהֵ֜ן (the priest) אֶת־ (-) נֶ֣גַע (the plague) הַנֶּ֗תֶק (the scale), וְהִנֵּ֤ה (and behold) אֵין־ (is not) מַרְאֵ֙הוּ֙ (its appearance) עָמֹ֣ק (deeper) מִן־ (than) הָע֔וֹר (the skin), וְשֵׂעָ֥ר (and hair) שָׁחֹ֖ר (black) אֵ֣ין (is not) בּ֑וֹ (in it), וְהִסְגִּ֧יר (and shall shut up) הַכֹּהֵ֛ן (the priest) אֶת־ (-) נֶ֥גַע (the one who has the plague) הַנֶּ֖תֶק (of the scale) שִׁבְעַ֥ת (seven) יָמִֽים׃ (days). 32  וְרָאָ֨ה (And shall examine) הַכֹּהֵ֣ן (the priest) אֶת־ (-) הַנֶּגַע֮ (the plague) בַּיּ֣וֹם (on the day) הַשְּׁבִיעִי֒ (the seventh), וְהִנֵּה֙ (and behold) לֹא־ (not) פָשָׂ֣ה (has spread) הַנֶּ֔תֶק (if the scale), וְלֹא־ (and not) הָ֥יָה (there is) ב֖וֹ (in it) שֵׂעָ֣ר (hair) צָהֹ֑ב (yellow), וּמַרְאֵ֣ה (and the appearance) הַנֶּ֔תֶק (of the scale) אֵ֥ין (is not) עָמֹ֖ק (deeper) מִן־ (than) הָעֽוֹר׃ (the skin), 33  וְהִ֨תְגַּלָּ֔ח (and he shall shave himself), וְאֶת־ (and) הַנֶּ֖תֶק (the scale) לֹ֣א (not) יְגַלֵּ֑חַ (he shall shave). וְהִסְגִּ֨יר (And shall shut up) הַכֹּהֵ֧ן (the priest) אֶת־ (-) הַנֶּ֛תֶק (the one who has the scale) שִׁבְעַ֥ת (seven) יָמִ֖ים (days) שֵׁנִֽית׃ (a second). 34  וְרָאָה֩ (And shall examine) הַכֹּהֵ֨ן (the priest) אֶת־ (-) הַנֶּ֜תֶק (the scale) בַּיּ֣וֹם (on the day) הַשְּׁבִיעִ֗י (seventh), וְ֠הִנֵּה (and behold) לֹא־ (not) פָשָׂ֤ה (has spread) הַנֶּ֙תֶק֙ (if the scale) בָּע֔וֹר (in the skin), וּמַרְאֵ֕הוּ (and the appearance of it) אֵינֶ֥נּוּ (is not) עָמֹ֖ק (deeper) מִן־ (than) הָע֑וֹר (the skin), וְטִהַ֤ר (and shall pronounce him clean) אֹתוֹ֙ (-) הַכֹּהֵ֔ן (the priest), וְכִבֶּ֥ס (and he shall wash) בְּגָדָ֖יו (his clothes) וְטָהֵֽר׃ (and he shall be clean).

35  וְאִם־ (And if) פָּשֹׂ֥ה (spreading) יִפְשֶׂ֛ה (it spreads) הַנֶּ֖תֶק (the scale) בָּע֑וֹר (in the skin) אַחֲרֵ֖י (after) טָהֳרָתֽוֹ׃ (his cleansing), 36  וְרָאָ֙הוּ֙ (and shall examine him) הַכֹּהֵ֔ן (the priest), וְהִנֵּ֛ה (and behold) פָּשָׂ֥ה (has spread) הַנֶּ֖תֶק (if the scale) בָּע֑וֹר (in the skin), לֹֽא־ (not) יְבַקֵּ֧ר (need seek) הַכֹּהֵ֛ן (the priest) לַשֵּׂעָ֥ר (for the hair) הַצָּהֹ֖ב (the yellow); טָמֵ֥א (unclean) הֽוּא׃ (he is).

37  וְאִם־ (And if) בְּעֵינָיו֩ (in his eyes) עָמַ֨ד (has stood) הַנֶּ֜תֶק (the scale), וְשֵׂעָ֨ר (and hair) שָׁחֹ֧ר (black) צָֽמַח־ (has grown up) בּ֛וֹ (in it), נִרְפָּ֥א (has been healed) הַנֶּ֖תֶק (the scale). טָה֣וֹר (Clean) ה֑וּא (he is), וְטִהֲר֖וֹ (and shall pronounce him clean) הַכֹּהֵֽן׃ס (the priest).

38  וְאִישׁ֙ (And a man) אֽוֹ־ (or) אִשָּׁ֔ה (a woman) כִּֽי־ (if) יִהְיֶ֥ה (has) בְעוֹר־ (in the skin) בְּשָׂרָ֖ם (of their flesh) בֶּהָרֹ֑ת (bright spots), בֶּהָרֹ֖ת (bright spots) לְבָנֹֽת׃ (white), 39  וְרָאָ֣ה (shall examine) הַכֹּהֵ֗ן (the priest), וְהִנֵּ֧ה (and if indeed) בְעוֹר־ (if in the skin) בְּשָׂרָ֛ם (of their flesh) בֶּהָרֹ֖ת (the bright spots) כֵּה֣וֹת (are dull) לְבָנֹ֑ת (white), בֹּ֥הַק (a harmless rash) ה֛וּא (it is) פָּרַ֥ח (it has broken out) בָּע֖וֹר (in the skin); טָה֥וֹר (clean) הֽוּא׃ס (he is).

40  וְאִ֕ישׁ (A man’s) כִּ֥י (when) יִמָּרֵ֖ט (is made bare) רֹאשׁ֑וֹ (head), קֵרֵ֥חַ (bald) ה֖וּא (he is); טָה֥וֹר (clean) הֽוּא׃ (he is). 41  וְאִם֙ (And if) מִפְּאַ֣ת (from the side) פָּנָ֔יו (of his face) יִמָּרֵ֖ט (is made bare) רֹאשׁ֑וֹ (his head), גִּבֵּ֥חַ (bald of forehead) ה֖וּא (he is); טָה֥וֹר (clean) הֽוּא׃ (he is). 42  וְכִֽי־ (And if) יִהְיֶ֤ה (there is) בַקָּרַ֙חַת֙ (in the bald head) א֣וֹ (or) בַגַּבַּ֔חַת (in the bald forehead) נֶ֖גַע (a plague) לָבָ֣ן (white), אֲדַמְדָּ֑ם (reddish), צָרַ֤עַת (leprosy) פֹּרַ֙חַת֙ (breaking out) הִ֔וא (it is) בְּקָרַחְתּ֖וֹ (in his bald head), א֥וֹ (or) בְגַבַּחְתּֽוֹ׃ (in his bald forehead). 43  וְרָאָ֨ה (And shall examine) אֹת֜וֹ (him) הַכֹּהֵ֗ן (the priest), וְהִנֵּ֤ה (and behold) שְׂאֵת־ (if the swelling) הַנֶּ֙גַע֙ (of the plague) לְבָנָ֣ה (is white), אֲדַמְדֶּ֔מֶת (reddish) בְּקָרַחְתּ֖וֹ (in his bald head), א֣וֹ (or) בְגַבַּחְתּ֑וֹ (in his bald forehead), כְּמַרְאֵ֥ה (like the appearance) צָרַ֖עַת (of leprosy on) ע֥וֹר (the skin) בָּשָֽׂר׃ (of the flesh), 44  אִישׁ־ (a man) צָר֥וּעַ (leprous) ה֖וּא (he is); טָמֵ֣א (unclean) ה֑וּא (he is). טַמֵּ֧א (As unclean) יְטַמְּאֶ֛נּוּ (shall pronounce him unclean) הַכֹּהֵ֖ן (the priest); בְּרֹאשׁ֥וֹ (in his head) נִגְעֽוֹ׃ (his plague is).

45  וְהַצָּר֜וּעַ (And the leper) אֲשֶׁר־ (who) בּ֣וֹ (has in him) הַנֶּ֗גַע (the plague), בְּגָדָ֞יו (his clothes) יִהְי֤וּ (shall be) פְרֻמִים֙ (torn), וְרֹאשׁוֹ֙ (and his head) יִהְיֶ֣ה (shall be) פָר֔וּעַ (uncovered), וְעַל־ (and) שָׂפָ֖ם (his mustache) יַעְטֶ֑ה (he shall cover). וְטָמֵ֥א׀ (And’ Unclean)! טָמֵ֖א (Unclean)! יִקְרָֽא׃ (He shall call out). 46  כָּל־ (All) יְמֵ֞י (the days) אֲשֶׁ֨ר (that) הַנֶּ֥גַע (the plague) בּ֛וֹ (is in him) יִטְמָ֖א (he shall be unclean); טָמֵ֣א (unclean) ה֑וּא (he is). בָּדָ֣ד (Alone) יֵשֵׁ֔ב (he shall dwell); מִח֥וּץ (outside) לַֽמַּחֲנֶ֖ה (of the camp) מוֹשָׁבֽוֹ׃ס (his dwelling is).

47  וְהַבֶּ֕גֶד (And if a garment) כִּֽי־ (that) יִהְיֶ֥ה (has) ב֖וֹ (in it) נֶ֣גַע (a plague) צָרָ֑עַת (of leprosy)— בְּבֶ֣גֶד (in a garment) צֶ֔מֶר (of wool) א֖וֹ (or) בְּבֶ֥גֶד (in a garment) פִּשְׁתִּֽים׃ (of linen)— 48  א֤וֹ (or) בִֽשְׁתִי֙ (in the warp), א֣וֹ (or) בְעֵ֔רֶב (in the woof), לַפִּשְׁתִּ֖ים (of linen) וְלַצָּ֑מֶר (or of wool), א֣וֹ (or) בְע֔וֹר (in skin), א֖וֹ (or) בְּכָל־ (in any) מְלֶ֥אכֶת (work) עֽוֹר׃ (of skin), 49  וְהָיָ֨ה (and is) הַנֶּ֜גַע (the plague) יְרַקְרַ֣ק׀ (greenish) א֣וֹ (or) אֲדַמְדָּ֗ם (reddish) בַּבֶּגֶד֩ (in the garment), א֨וֹ (or) בָע֜וֹר (in the skin), אֽוֹ־ (or) בַשְּׁתִ֤י (in the warp), אוֹ־ (or) בָעֵ֙רֶב֙ (in the woof), א֣וֹ (or) בְכָל־ (in any) כְּלִי־ (article) ע֔וֹר (of skin), נֶ֥גַע (a plague) צָרַ֖עַת (of leprosy) ה֑וּא (it is), וְהָרְאָ֖ה (and it shall be shown to) אֶת־ (-) הַכֹּהֵֽן׃ (the priest). 50  וְרָאָ֥ה (And shall examine) הַכֹּהֵ֖ן (the priest) אֶת־ (-) הַנָּ֑גַע (the plague), וְהִסְגִּ֥יר (and he shall shut up) אֶת־ (-) הַנֶּ֖גַע (the plague) שִׁבְעַ֥ת (seven) יָמִֽים׃ (days).

51  וְרָאָ֨ה (And he shall examine) אֶת־ (-) הַנֶּ֜גַע (the plague) בַּיּ֣וֹם (on the day) הַשְּׁבִיעִ֗י (the seventh). כִּֽי־ (If) פָשָׂ֤ה (has spread) הַנֶּ֙גַע֙ (the plague) בַּ֠בֶּגֶד (in the garment), אֽוֹ־ (or) בַשְּׁתִ֤י (in the warp), אֽוֹ־ (or) בָעֵ֙רֶב֙ (in the woof), א֣וֹ (or) בָע֔וֹר (in the skin), לְכֹ֛ל (for any) אֲשֶׁר־ (that) יֵעָשֶׂ֥ה (is made) הָע֖וֹר (the skin) לִמְלָאכָ֑ה (for work), צָרַ֧עַת (leprosy) מַמְאֶ֛רֶת (harmful), הַנֶּ֖גַע (the plague is); טָמֵ֥א (unclean) הֽוּא׃ (it is). 52  וְשָׂרַ֨ף (And he shall burn) אֶת־ (-) הַבֶּ֜גֶד (the garment), א֥וֹ (or) אֶֽת־ (-) הַשְּׁתִ֣י׀ (the warp) א֣וֹ (or) אֶת־ (-) הָעֵ֗רֶב (the woof) בַּצֶּ֙מֶר֙ (in the wool) א֣וֹ (or) בַפִּשְׁתִּ֔ים (in the linen), א֚וֹ (or) אֶת־ (-) כָּל־ (any) כְּלִ֣י (article) הָע֔וֹר (of skin), אֲשֶׁר־ (that) יִהְיֶ֥ה (is) ב֖וֹ (in it) הַנָּ֑גַע (the plague), כִּֽי־ (for) צָרַ֤עַת (leprosy) מַמְאֶ֙רֶת֙ (harmful) הִ֔וא (it is). בָּאֵ֖שׁ (In the fire) תִּשָּׂרֵֽף׃ (it shall be burned).

53  וְאִם֮ (And if) יִרְאֶ֣ה (examines) הַכֹּהֵן֒ (the priest), וְהִנֵּה֙ (and behold) לֹא־ (not) פָשָׂ֣ה (has spread) הַנֶּ֔גַע (the plague) בַּבֶּ֕גֶד (in the garment), א֥וֹ (or) בַשְּׁתִ֖י (in the warp) א֣וֹ (or) בָעֵ֑רֶב (in the woof), א֖וֹ (or) בְּכָל־ (in any) כְּלִי־ (article) עֽוֹר׃ (of skin), 54  וְצִוָּה֙ (and shall command) הַכֹּהֵ֔ן (the priest) וְכִ֨בְּס֔וּ (and they shall wash) אֵ֥ת (-) אֲשֶׁר־ (that) בּ֖וֹ (in which) הַנָּ֑גַע (is the plague), וְהִסְגִּיר֥וֹ (and he shall shut it up) שִׁבְעַת־ (seven) יָמִ֖ים (days) שֵׁנִֽית׃ (a second). 55  וְרָאָ֨ה (And shall examine) הַכֹּהֵ֜ן (the priest) אַחֲרֵ֣י׀ (after) הֻכַּבֵּ֣ס (it has been washed) אֶת־ (-) הַנֶּ֗גַע (the plague), וְ֠הִנֵּה (and behold), לֹֽא־ (not) הָפַ֨ךְ (has turned) הַנֶּ֤גַע (if the plague) אֶת־ (-) עֵינוֹ֙ (its eye), וְהַנֶּ֣גַע (and the plague) לֹֽא־ (not) פָשָׂ֔ה (has spread), טָמֵ֣א (unclean) ה֔וּא (it is); בָּאֵ֖שׁ (in the fire) תִּשְׂרְפֶ֑נּוּ (and you shall burn it); פְּחֶ֣תֶת (a rot) הִ֔וא (it is) בְּקָרַחְתּ֖וֹ (in its back part) א֥וֹ (or) בְגַבַּחְתּֽוֹ׃ (in its front part).

56  וְאִם֮ (And if) רָאָ֣ה (examines) הַכֹּהֵן֒ (the priest), וְהִנֵּה֙ (and behold) כֵּהָ֣ה (has faded) הַנֶּ֔גַע (the plague) אַחֲרֵ֖י (after) הֻכַּבֵּ֣ס (washing) אֹת֑וֹ (it), וְקָרַ֣ע (and he shall tear) אֹת֗וֹ (it) מִן־ (out) הַבֶּ֙גֶד֙ (of the garment), א֣וֹ (or) מִן־ (out) הָע֔וֹר (of the skin), א֥וֹ (or) מִן־ (out) הַשְּׁתִ֖י (of the warp), א֥וֹ (or) מִן־ (out) הָעֵֽרֶב׃ (of the woof). 57  וְאִם־ (And if) תֵּרָאֶ֨ה (it appears) ע֜וֹד (again) בַּ֠בֶּגֶד (in the garment), אֽוֹ־ (or) בַשְּׁתִ֤י (in the warp), אֽוֹ־ (or) בָעֵ֙רֶב֙ (in the woof), א֣וֹ (or) בְכָל־ (in any) כְּלִי־ (article) ע֔וֹר (of skin), פֹּרַ֖חַת (breaking out) הִ֑וא (it is); בָּאֵ֣שׁ (in the fire) תִּשְׂרְפֶ֔נּוּ (you shall burn it) אֵ֥ת (-) אֲשֶׁר־ (that) בּ֖וֹ (in which) הַנָּֽגַע׃ (the the plague is).

58  וְהַבֶּ֡גֶד (And if the garment), אֽוֹ־ (or) הַשְּׁתִ֨י (the warp), אוֹ־ (or) הָעֵ֜רֶב (the woof), אֽוֹ־ (or) כָל־ (any) כְּלִ֤י (article) הָעוֹר֙ (of skin) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (that is), תְּכַבֵּ֔ס (you wash); וְסָ֥ר (and departs) מֵהֶ֖ם (from it) הַנָּ֑גַע (the plague), וְכֻבַּ֥ס (and it shall be washed) שֵׁנִ֖ית (a second time), וְטָהֵֽר׃ (and it shall be clean).

59  זֹ֠את (This) תּוֹרַ֨ת (is the law) נֶֽגַע־ (of the plague) צָרַ֜עַת (of leprosy) בֶּ֥גֶד (of a garment) הַצֶּ֣מֶר׀ (of wool) א֣וֹ (or) הַפִּשְׁתִּ֗ים (of linen), א֤וֹ (or) הַשְּׁתִי֙ (of the warp), א֣וֹ (or) הָעֵ֔רֶב (of the woof), א֖וֹ (or) כָּל־ (any) כְּלִי־ (article) ע֑וֹר (of skin), לְטַהֲר֖וֹ (to pronounce it clean) א֥וֹ (or) לְטַמְּאֽוֹ׃פ (to pronounce it unclean).
