Cleansing from Skin Diseases
(Matthew 8:1–4; Mark 1:40–45; Luke 5:12–16)

1  וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר (And spoke) יְהוָ֖ה (YHWH) אֶל־ (to) מֹשֶׁ֥ה (Moses), לֵּאמֹֽר׃ (saying), 2  זֹ֤את (This) תִּֽהְיֶה֙ (shall be) תּוֹרַ֣ת (the law) הַמְּצֹרָ֔ע (of the leper) בְּי֖וֹם (in the day) טָהֳרָת֑וֹ (of his cleansing). וְהוּבָ֖א (And he shall be brought) אֶל־ (to) הַכֹּהֵֽן׃ (the priest), 3  וְיָצָא֙ (and shall go out) הַכֹּהֵ֔ן (the priest) אֶל־ (to) מִח֖וּץ (the outside) לַֽמַּחֲנֶ֑ה (of the camp). וְרָאָה֙ (And shall examine him) הַכֹּהֵ֔ן (the priest), וְהִנֵּ֛ה (and behold) נִרְפָּ֥א (is healed) נֶֽגַע־ (if the plague) הַצָּרַ֖עַת (of the leprosy) מִן־ (in) הַצָּרֽוּעַ׃ (the leper), 4  וְצִוָּה֙ (and shall command) הַכֹּהֵ֔ן (the priest) וְלָקַ֧ח (and he shall take) לַמִּטַּהֵ֛ר (for the one being cleansed) שְׁתֵּֽי־ (two) צִפֳּרִ֥ים (birds) חַיּ֖וֹת (living) טְהֹר֑וֹת (and clean), וְעֵ֣ץ (and wood) אֶ֔רֶז (cedar), וּשְׁנִ֥י (and yarn) תוֹלַ֖עַת (scarlet), וְאֵזֹֽב׃ (and hyssop).

5  וְצִוָּה֙ (And shall command) הַכֹּהֵ֔ן (the priest) וְשָׁחַ֖ט (and he shall slaughter) אֶת־ (-) הַצִּפּ֣וֹר (the bird) הָאֶחָ֑ת (the one) אֶל־ (in) כְּלִי־ (a vessel) חֶ֖רֶשׂ (earthen), עַל־ (over) מַ֥יִם (water) חַיִּֽים׃ (living). 6  אֶת־ (-) הַצִּפֹּ֤ר (the bird) הַֽחַיָּה֙ (living), יִקַּ֣ח (he shall take) אֹתָ֔הּ (it), וְאֶת־ (and) עֵ֥ץ (wood) הָאֶ֛רֶז (the cedar), וְאֶת־ (and) שְׁנִ֥י (yarn) הַתּוֹלַ֖עַת (the scarlet), וְאֶת־ (and) הָאֵזֹ֑ב (the hyssop), וְטָבַ֨ל (and he shall dip) אוֹתָ֜ם (them) וְאֵ֣ת׀ (and) הַצִּפֹּ֣ר (the bird) הַֽחַיָּ֗ה (the living) בְּדַם֙ (in the blood) הַצִּפֹּ֣ר (of the bird) הַשְּׁחֻטָ֔ה (that was slaughtered) עַ֖ל (over) הַמַּ֥יִם (the water) הַֽחַיִּֽים׃ (living). 7  וְהִזָּ֗ה (And he shall sprinkle it) עַ֧ל (on) הַמִּטַּהֵ֛ר (the one being cleansed) מִן־ (from) הַצָּרַ֖עַת (the leprosy) שֶׁ֣בַע (seven) פְּעָמִ֑ים (times), וְטִ֣הֲר֔וֹ (and shall pronounce him clean) וְשִׁלַּ֛ח (and he shall send out) אֶת־ (-) הַצִּפֹּ֥ר (the bird) הַֽחַיָּ֖ה (living) עַל־ (upon) פְּנֵ֥י (the face) הַשָּׂדֶֽה׃ (of the field).

8  וְכִבֶּס֩ (And shall wash) הַמִּטַּהֵ֨ר (the one being cleansed) אֶת־ (-) בְּגָדָ֜יו (his clothes), וְגִלַּ֣ח (and he shall shave off) אֶת־ (-) כָּל־ (all) שְׂעָר֗וֹ (his hair), וְרָחַ֤ץ (and he shall wash himself) בַּמַּ֙יִם֙ (in the water), וְטָהֵ֔ר (and he shall be clean). וְאַחַ֖ר (And afterward) יָב֣וֹא (he shall come) אֶל־ (into) הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֑ה (the camp), וְיָשַׁ֛ב (and he shall dwell) מִח֥וּץ (outside) לְאָהֳל֖וֹ (of his tent) שִׁבְעַ֥ת (seven) יָמִֽים׃ (days). 9  וְהָיָה֩ (And) בַיּ֨וֹם (on the day) הַשְּׁבִיעִ֜י (the seventh), יְגַלַּ֣ח (he shall shave off) אֶת־ (-) כָּל־ (all) שְׂעָר֗וֹ (his hair) אֶת־ (-) רֹאשׁ֤וֹ (his head) וְאֶת־ (and) זְקָנוֹ֙ (his beard) וְאֵת֙ (and) גַּבֹּ֣ת (-) עֵינָ֔יו (his eyebrows), וְאֶת־ (and) כָּל־ (all) שְׂעָר֖וֹ (his hair) יְגַלֵּ֑חַ (he shall shave off). וְכִבֶּ֣ס (And he shall wash) אֶת־ (-) בְּגָדָ֗יו (his clothes) וְרָחַ֧ץ (and he shall wash) אֶת־ (-) בְּשָׂר֛וֹ (his flesh) בַּמַּ֖יִם (in the water), וְטָהֵֽר׃ (and he shall be clean).

10  וּבַיּ֣וֹם (And on the day) הַשְּׁמִינִ֗י (the eighth) יִקַּ֤ח (he shall take) שְׁנֵֽי־ (two) כְבָשִׂים֙ (male lambs) תְּמִימִ֔ים (unblemished), וְכַבְשָׂ֥ה (and ewe lamb) אַחַ֛ת (one), בַּת־ (a daughter) שְׁנָתָ֖הּ (of a year) תְּמִימָ֑ה (unblemished), וּשְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה (and three) עֶשְׂרֹנִ֗ים (tenths of an ephah) סֹ֤לֶת (of fine flour) מִנְחָה֙ (as a grain offering), בְּלוּלָ֣ה (mixed) בַשֶּׁ֔מֶן (with the oil), וְלֹ֥ג (and log) אֶחָ֖ד (one) שָֽׁמֶן׃ (of oil). 11  וְהֶעֱמִ֞יד (And shall present) הַכֹּהֵ֣ן (the priest) הַֽמְטַהֵ֗ר (the one cleansing) אֵ֛ת (-) הָאִ֥ישׁ (the man) הַמִּטַּהֵ֖ר (the one being cleansed) וְאֹתָ֑ם (and together with these) לִפְנֵ֣י (before the face) יְהוָ֔ה (of YHWH) פֶּ֖תַח (at the door) אֹ֥הֶל (of the Tent) מוֹעֵֽד׃ (of Meeting).

12  וְלָקַ֨ח (And shall take) הַכֹּהֵ֜ן (the priest) אֶת־ (-) הַכֶּ֣בֶשׂ (the male lamb) הָאֶחָ֗ד (one) וְהִקְרִ֥יב (and he shall bring near) אֹת֛וֹ (it) לְאָשָׁ֖ם (for a guilt offering), וְאֶת־ (and) לֹ֣ג (the log) הַשָּׁ֑מֶן (of the oil), וְהֵנִ֥יף (and he shall wave) אֹתָ֛ם (them) תְּנוּפָ֖ה (as a wave offering) לִפְנֵ֥י (before the face) יְהוָֽה׃ (of YHWH). 13  וְשָׁחַ֣ט (And he shall slaughter) אֶת־ (-) הַכֶּ֗בֶשׂ (the lamb) בִּ֠מְקוֹם (in the place) אֲשֶׁ֨ר (where) יִשְׁחַ֧ט (he slaughters) אֶת־ (-) הַֽחַטָּ֛את (the sin offering) וְאֶת־ (and) הָעֹלָ֖ה (the burnt offering), בִּמְק֣וֹם (in a place) הַקֹּ֑דֶשׁ (holy); כִּ֡י (for) כַּ֠חַטָּאת (like the sin offering) הָאָשָׁ֥ם (the guilt offering), הוּא֙ (it is) לַכֹּהֵ֔ן (for the priest); קֹ֥דֶשׁ (holy) קָֽדָשִׁ֖ים (of holies) הֽוּא׃ (it is).

14  וְלָקַ֣ח (And shall take) הַכֹּהֵן֮ (the priest) מִדַּ֣ם (from the blood) הָאָשָׁם֒ (of the guilt offering), וְנָתַן֙ (and shall put it) הַכֹּהֵ֔ן (the priest) עַל־ (on) תְּנ֛וּךְ (the tip) אֹ֥זֶן (of the ear) הַמִּטַּהֵ֖ר (of the one being cleansed), הַיְמָנִ֑ית (the right), וְעַל־ (and on) בֹּ֤הֶן (the thumb) יָדוֹ֙ (of his hand) הַיְמָנִ֔ית (right), וְעַל־ (and on) בֹּ֥הֶן (big toe) רַגְל֖וֹ (of his foot) הַיְמָנִֽית׃ (right). 15  וְלָקַ֥ח (And shall take) הַכֹּהֵ֖ן (the priest) מִלֹּ֣ג (from the log) הַשָּׁ֑מֶן (of the oil), וְיָצַ֛ק (and he shall pour it) עַל־ (upon) כַּ֥ף (the palm) הַכֹּהֵ֖ן (of the priest's) הַשְּׂמָאלִֽית׃ (left hand), 16  וְטָבַ֤ל (and shall dip) הַכֹּהֵן֙ (the priest) אֶת־ (-) אֶצְבָּע֣וֹ (his finger) הַיְמָנִ֔ית (right) מִן־ (in) הַשֶּׁ֕מֶן (the oil) אֲשֶׁ֥ר (that is) עַל־ (upon) כַּפּ֖וֹ (his palm) הַשְּׂמָאלִ֑ית (the left), וְהִזָּ֨ה (and he shall sprinkle) מִן־ (from) הַשֶּׁ֧מֶן (the oil) בְּאֶצְבָּע֛וֹ (with his finger) שֶׁ֥בַע (seven) פְּעָמִ֖ים (times) לִפְנֵ֥י (before the face) יְהוָֽה׃ (of YHWH). 17  וּמִיֶּ֨תֶר (And from the remainder) הַשֶּׁ֜מֶן (of the oil) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (that) עַל־ (is upon) כַּפּ֗וֹ (his palm), יִתֵּ֤ן (shall put) הַכֹּהֵן֙ (the priest) עַל־ (some on) תְּנ֞וּךְ (the tip) אֹ֤זֶן (of the ear) הַמִּטַּהֵר֙ (of the one being cleansed), הַיְמָנִ֔ית (the right), וְעַל־ (and on) בֹּ֤הֶן (the thumb) יָדוֹ֙ (of his hand) הַיְמָנִ֔ית (right), וְעַל־ (and on) בֹּ֥הֶן (the big toe) רַגְל֖וֹ (of his foot) הַיְמָנִ֑ית (right), עַ֖ל (on) דַּ֥ם (the blood) הָאָשָֽׁם׃ (of the guilt offering).

18  וְהַנּוֹתָ֗ר (And the rest) בַּשֶּׁ֙מֶן֙ (of the oil) אֲשֶׁר֙ (that is) עַל־ (upon) כַּ֣ף (the palm) הַכֹּהֵ֔ן (of the priest), יִתֵּ֖ן (he shall put) עַל־ (on) רֹ֣אשׁ (the head) הַמִּטַּהֵ֑ר (of the one being cleansed); וְכִפֶּ֥ר (and shall make atonement) עָלָ֛יו (upon him) הַכֹּהֵ֖ן (the priest) לִפְנֵ֥י (before the face) יְהוָֽה׃ (of YHWH). 19  וְעָשָׂ֤ה (And shall do) הַכֹּהֵן֙ (the priest) אֶת־ (-) הַ֣חַטָּ֔את (the sin offering), וְכִפֶּ֕ר (and he shall make atonement) עַל־ (upon) הַמִּטַּהֵ֖ר (the one being cleansed) מִטֻּמְאָת֑וֹ (from his uncleanness). וְאַחַ֖ר (And afterward) יִשְׁחַ֥ט (he shall slaughter) אֶת־ (-) הָעֹלָֽה׃ (the burnt offering). 20  וְהֶעֱלָ֧ה (And shall cause to go up) הַכֹּהֵ֛ן (the priest) אֶת־ (-) הָעֹלָ֥ה (the burnt offering) וְאֶת־ (and) הַמִּנְחָ֖ה (the grain offering) הַמִּזְבֵּ֑חָה (on the altar). וְכִפֶּ֥ר (And shall make atonement) עָלָ֛יו (upon him) הַכֹּהֵ֖ן (the priest), וְטָהֵֽר׃ס (and he shall be clean).

21  וְאִם־ (And if) דַּ֣ל (poor) ה֗וּא (he is), וְאֵ֣ין (and not) יָדוֹ֮ (his hand) מַשֶּׂגֶת֒ (can reach), וְ֠לָקַח (and he shall take) כֶּ֣בֶשׂ (male lamb) אֶחָ֥ד (one) אָשָׁ֛ם (a guilt offering) לִתְנוּפָ֖ה (for a wave offering), לְכַפֵּ֣ר (to make atonement) עָלָ֑יו (upon him), וְעִשָּׂר֨וֹן (and a tenth of an ephah) סֹ֜לֶת (of fine flour), אֶחָ֨ד (one) בָּל֥וּל (mixed) בַּשֶּׁ֛מֶן (with the oil) לְמִנְחָ֖ה (for a grain offering), וְלֹ֥ג (and a log) שָֽׁמֶן׃ (of oil), 22  וּשְׁתֵּ֣י (and two) תֹרִ֗ים (turtledoves) א֤וֹ (or) שְׁנֵי֙ (two) בְּנֵ֣י (sons) יוֹנָ֔ה (of a pigeon), אֲשֶׁ֥ר (which) תַּשִּׂ֖יג (can reach) יָד֑וֹ (his hand); וְהָיָ֤ה (and shall be) אֶחָד֙ (one) חַטָּ֔את (a sin offering), וְהָאֶחָ֖ד (and the one) עֹלָֽה׃ (a burnt offering).

23  וְהֵבִ֨יא (And he shall bring) אֹתָ֜ם (them) בַּיּ֧וֹם (on the day) הַשְּׁמִינִ֛י (the eighth) לְטָהֳרָת֖וֹ (for his cleansing) אֶל־ (to) הַכֹּהֵ֑ן (the priest), אֶל־ (to) פֶּ֥תַח (the door) אֹֽהֶל־ (of the Tent) מוֹעֵ֖ד (of Meeting), לִפְנֵ֥י (before the face) יְהוָֽה׃ (of YHWH). 24  וְלָקַ֧ח (And shall take) הַכֹּהֵ֛ן (the priest) אֶת־ (-) כֶּ֥בֶשׂ (the lamb) הָאָשָׁ֖ם (of the guilt offering), וְאֶת־ (and) לֹ֣ג (the log) הַשָּׁ֑מֶן (of the oil), וְהֵנִ֨יף (and shall wave) אֹתָ֧ם (them) הַכֹּהֵ֛ן (the priest) תְּנוּפָ֖ה (as a wave offering) לִפְנֵ֥י (before the face) יְהוָֽה׃ (of YHWH).

25  וְשָׁחַט֮ (And he shall slaughter) אֶת־ (-) כֶּ֣בֶשׂ (the lamb) הָֽאָשָׁם֒ (of the guilt offering), וְלָקַ֤ח (and shall take) הַכֹּהֵן֙ (the priest) מִדַּ֣ם (from the blood) הָֽאָשָׁ֔ם (of the guilt offering), וְנָתַ֛ן (and he shall put it) עַל־ (on) תְּנ֥וּךְ (the tip) אֹֽזֶן־ (of the ear) הַמִּטַּהֵ֖ר (of the one being cleansed), הַיְמָנִ֑ית (the right), וְעַל־ (and on) בֹּ֤הֶן (the thumb) יָדוֹ֙ (of his hand) הַיְמָנִ֔ית (right), וְעַל־ (and on) בֹּ֥הֶן (the big toe) רַגְל֖וֹ (of his foot) הַיְמָנִֽית׃ (right). 26  וּמִן־ (And from) הַשֶּׁ֖מֶן (the oil) יִצֹ֣ק (shall pour) הַכֹּהֵ֑ן (the priest) עַל־ (upon) כַּ֥ף (the palm) הַכֹּהֵ֖ן (of the priest's) הַשְּׂמָאלִֽית׃ (left hand); 27  וְהִזָּ֤ה (and shall sprinkle) הַכֹּהֵן֙ (the priest) בְּאֶצְבָּע֣וֹ (with his finger) הַיְמָנִ֔ית (right) מִן־ (from) הַשֶּׁ֕מֶן (the oil) אֲשֶׁ֥ר (that is) עַל־ (upon) כַּפּ֖וֹ (his palm) הַשְּׂמָאלִ֑ית (the left) שֶׁ֥בַע (seven) פְּעָמִ֖ים (times) לִפְנֵ֥י (before the face) יְהוָֽה׃ (of YHWH). 28  וְנָתַ֨ן (And shall put) הַכֹּהֵ֜ן (the priest) מִן־ (from) הַשֶּׁ֣מֶן׀ (the oil) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (that is) עַל־ (upon) כַּפּ֗וֹ (his palm) עַל־ (on) תְּנ֞וּךְ (the tip) אֹ֤זֶן (of the ear) הַמִּטַּהֵר֙ (of the one being cleansed), הַיְמָנִ֔ית (the right), וְעַל־ (and on) בֹּ֤הֶן (the thumb) יָדוֹ֙ (of the hand) הַיְמָנִ֔ית (right), וְעַל־ (and on) בֹּ֥הֶן (the big toe) רַגְל֖וֹ (of his foot) הַיְמָנִ֑ית (right), עַל־ (on) מְק֖וֹם (the place) דַּ֥ם (of the blood) הָאָשָֽׁם׃ (of the guilt offering).

29  וְהַנּוֹתָ֗ר (And the remainder) מִן־ (from) הַשֶּׁ֙מֶן֙ (the oil) אֲשֶׁר֙ (that is) עַל־ (upon) כַּ֣ף (the palm) הַכֹּהֵ֔ן (of the priest), יִתֵּ֖ן (he shall put) עַל־ (on) רֹ֣אשׁ (the head) הַמִּטַּהֵ֑ר (of the one being cleansed), לְכַפֵּ֥ר (to make atonement) עָלָ֖יו (upon him) לִפְנֵ֥י (before the face) יְהוָֽה׃ (of YHWH). 30  וְעָשָׂ֤ה (And he shall do) אֶת־ (-) הָֽאֶחָד֙ (one) מִן־ (from) הַתֹּרִ֔ים (the turtledoves), א֖וֹ (or) מִן־ (from) בְּנֵ֣י (the sons) הַיּוֹנָ֑ה (of the pigeon), מֵאֲשֶׁ֥ר (from which) תַּשִּׂ֖יג (reaches to) יָדֽוֹ׃ (his hand); 31  אֵ֣ת (-) אֲשֶׁר־ (that which) תַּשִּׂ֞יג (reaches) יָד֗וֹ (his hand), אֶת־ (-) הָאֶחָ֥ד (the one) חַטָּ֛את (as a sin offering), וְאֶת־ (and) הָאֶחָ֥ד (the one) עֹלָ֖ה (as a burnt offering), עַל־ (with) הַמִּנְחָ֑ה (the grain offering). וְכִפֶּ֧ר (And shall make atonement) הַכֹּהֵ֛ן (the priest) עַ֥ל (upon) הַמִּטַּהֵ֖ר (the one being cleansed) לִפְנֵ֥י (before the face) יְהוָֽה׃ (of YHWH).

32  זֹ֣את (This) תּוֹרַ֔ת (is the law) אֲשֶׁר־ (of in whom) בּ֖וֹ (him) נֶ֣גַע (is a plague) צָרָ֑עַת (leprous), אֲשֶׁ֛ר (who) לֹֽא־ (not) תַשִּׂ֥יג (does reach) יָד֖וֹ (his hand) בְּטָהֳרָתֽוֹ׃פ (in his cleansing).

Signs of Home Contamination

33  וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר (And spoke) יְהוָ֔ה (YHWH) אֶל־ (to) מֹשֶׁ֥ה (Moses) וְאֶֽל־ (and to) אַהֲרֹ֖ן (Aaron), לֵאמֹֽר׃ (saying), 34  כִּ֤י (When) תָבֹ֙אוּ֙ (you⁺ come) אֶל־ (into) אֶ֣רֶץ (the land) כְּנַ֔עַן (of Canaan), אֲשֶׁ֥ר (which) אֲנִ֛י (I) נֹתֵ֥ן (am giving) לָכֶ֖ם (to you⁺) לַאֲחֻזָּ֑ה (for a possession), וְנָתַתִּי֙ (and I put) נֶ֣גַע (a plague) צָרַ֔עַת (of leprosy) בְּבֵ֖ית (in a house) אֶ֥רֶץ (in the land) אֲחֻזַּתְכֶֽם׃ (of your⁺ possession), 35  וּבָא֙ (and shall come) אֲשֶׁר־ (whom) ל֣וֹ (to him) הַבַּ֔יִת (is the house) וְהִגִּ֥יד (and he shall tell) לַכֹּהֵ֖ן (the priest), לֵאמֹ֑ר (saying) כְּנֶ֕גַע (Something like a plague) נִרְאָ֥ה (has appeared) לִ֖י (to me) בַּבָּֽיִת׃ (in the house).

36  וְצִוָּ֨ה (And shall command) הַכֹּהֵ֜ן (the priest) וּפִנּ֣וּ (and they shall empty) אֶת־ (-) הַבַּ֗יִת (the house), בְּטֶ֨רֶם (before) יָבֹ֤א (goes in) הַכֹּהֵן֙ (the priest) לִרְא֣וֹת (to examine) אֶת־ (-) הַנֶּ֔גַע (the plague), וְלֹ֥א (and not) יִטְמָ֖א (shall become unclean) כָּל־ (all) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (that is) בַּבָּ֑יִת (in the house). וְאַ֥חַר (And after) כֵּ֛ן (thus) יָבֹ֥א (shall go in) הַכֹּהֵ֖ן (the priest) לִרְא֥וֹת (to examine) אֶת־ (-) הַבָּֽיִת׃ (the house).

37  וְרָאָ֣ה (And he shall examine) אֶת־ (-) הַנֶּ֗גַע (the plague), וְהִנֵּ֤ה (and behold), הַנֶּ֙גַע֙ (if the plague is) בְּקִירֹ֣ת (in the walls) הַבַּ֔יִת (of the house) שְׁקַֽעֲרוּרֹת֙ (with ingrained streaks), יְרַקְרַקֹּ֔ת (greenish) א֖וֹ (or) אֲדַמְדַּמֹּ֑ת (reddish), וּמַרְאֵיהֶ֥ן (and their appearance) שָׁפָ֖ל (is lower) מִן־ (than) הַקִּֽיר׃ (the wall), 38  וְיָצָ֧א (and shall go out) הַכֹּהֵ֛ן (the priest) מִן־ (from) הַבַּ֖יִת (the house) אֶל־ (to) פֶּ֣תַח (the door) הַבָּ֑יִת (of the house), וְהִסְגִּ֥יר (and he shall shut up) אֶת־ (-) הַבַּ֖יִת (the house) שִׁבְעַ֥ת (seven) יָמִֽים׃ (days).

39  וְשָׁ֥ב (And shall return) הַכֹּהֵ֖ן (the priest) בַּיּ֣וֹם (on the day) הַשְּׁבִיעִ֑י (the seventh), וְרָאָ֕ה (and he shall examine). וְהִנֵּ֛ה (And behold) פָּשָׂ֥ה (has spread) הַנֶּ֖גַע (if the plague) בְּקִירֹ֥ת (in the walls) הַבָּֽיִת׃ (of the house), 40  וְצִוָּה֙ (and shall command) הַכֹּהֵ֔ן (the priest) וְחִלְּצוּ֙ (and they shall take away) אֶת־ (-) הָ֣אֲבָנִ֔ים (the stones) אֲשֶׁ֥ר (which) בָּהֵ֖ן (in them) הַנָּ֑גַע (is the plague), וְהִשְׁלִ֤יכוּ (and they shall cast) אֶתְהֶן֙ (them) אֶל־ (to) מִח֣וּץ (the outside) לָעִ֔יר (of the city), אֶל־ (to) מָק֖וֹם (a place) טָמֵֽא׃ (unclean). 41  וְאֶת־ (And) הַבַּ֛יִת (the house) יַקְצִ֥עַ (he shall cause to be scraped) מִבַּ֖יִת (from the house) סָבִ֑יב (all around), וְשָׁפְכ֗וּ (and they shall pour out) אֶת־ (-) הֶֽעָפָר֙ (the dust) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (that) הִקְצ֔וּ (they have scraped off) אֶל־ (to) מִח֣וּץ (the outside) לָעִ֔יר (of the city), אֶל־ (to) מָק֖וֹם (a place) טָמֵֽא׃ (unclean).

42  וְלָקְחוּ֙ (And they shall take) אֲבָנִ֣ים (stones) אֲחֵר֔וֹת (other), וְהֵבִ֖יאוּ (and they shall bring them) אֶל־ (to) תַּ֣חַת (the place) הָאֲבָנִ֑ים (of the stones); וְעָפָ֥ר (and mortar) אַחֵ֛ר (other) יִקַּ֖ח (he shall take), וְטָ֥ח (and he shall plaster) אֶת־ (-) הַבָּֽיִת׃ (the house).

43  וְאִם־ (And if) יָשׁ֤וּב (returns) הַנֶּ֙גַע֙ (the plague), וּפָרַ֣ח (and it breaks out) בַּבַּ֔יִת (in the house), אַחַ֖ר (after) חִלֵּ֣ץ (his taking out) אֶת־ (-) הָאֲבָנִ֑ים (of the stones), וְאַחֲרֵ֛י (and after) הִקְצ֥וֹת (his scraping) אֶת־ (-) הַבַּ֖יִת (the house), וְאַחֲרֵ֥י (and after) הִטּֽוֹחַ׃ (his plastering), 44  וּבָא֙ (and shall come) הַכֹּהֵ֔ן (the priest) וְרָאָ֕ה (and he shall examine).

וְהִנֵּ֛ה (And behold) פָּשָׂ֥ה (has spread) הַנֶּ֖גַע (if the plague) בַּבָּ֑יִת (in the house), צָרַ֨עַת (leprosy) מַמְאֶ֥רֶת (a harmful) הִ֛וא (it is) בַּבַּ֖יִת (in the house); טָמֵ֥א (unclean) הֽוּא׃ (it is). 45  וְנָתַ֣ץ (And he shall break down) אֶת־ (-) הַבַּ֗יִת (the house), אֶת־ (-) אֲבָנָיו֙ (its stones), וְאֶת־ (and) עֵצָ֔יו (its timbers), וְאֵ֖ת (and) כָּל־ (all) עֲפַ֣ר (the mortar) הַבָּ֑יִת (of the house), וְהוֹצִיא֙ (and he shall carry them) אֶל־ (to) מִח֣וּץ (the outside) לָעִ֔יר (of the city), אֶל־ (to) מָק֖וֹם (a place) טָמֵֽא׃ (unclean). 46  וְהַבָּא֙ (And the one coming) אֶל־ (into) הַבַּ֔יִת (the house) כָּל־ (at all) יְמֵ֖י (while) הִסְגִּ֣יר (of his shutting up) אֹת֑וֹ (it) יִטְמָ֖א (shall be unclean) עַד־ (until) הָעָֽרֶב׃ (the evening). 47  וְהַשֹּׁכֵ֣ב (And the one lying down) בַּבַּ֔יִת (in the house) יְכַבֵּ֖ס (shall wash) אֶת־ (-) בְּגָדָ֑יו (his clothes), וְהָאֹכֵ֣ל (and the one eating) בַּבַּ֔יִת (in the house) יְכַבֵּ֖ס (shall wash) אֶת־ (-) בְּגָדָֽיו׃ (his clothes).

Cleansing a Home

48  וְאִם־ (And if) בֹּ֨א (coming) יָבֹ֜א (he comes) הַכֹּהֵ֗ן (the priest), וְרָאָה֙ (and he examines it), וְ֠הִנֵּה (and behold) לֹא־ (not) פָשָׂ֤ה (has spread) הַנֶּ֙גַע֙ (the plague) בַּבַּ֔יִת (in the house) אַחֲרֵ֖י (after) הִטֹּ֣חַ (the plastering) אֶת־ (-) הַבָּ֑יִת (of the house), וְטִהַ֤ר (and shall pronounce clean) הַכֹּהֵן֙ (the priest) אֶת־ (-) הַבַּ֔יִת (the house), כִּ֥י (because) נִרְפָּ֖א (has been healed) הַנָּֽגַע׃ (the plague).

49  וְלָקַ֛ח (And he shall take) לְחַטֵּ֥א (to cleanse from sin) אֶת־ (-) הַבַּ֖יִת (the house) שְׁתֵּ֣י (two) צִפֳּרִ֑ים (birds), וְעֵ֣ץ (and wood) אֶ֔רֶז (cedar), וּשְׁנִ֥י (and yarn) תוֹלַ֖עַת (scarlet), וְאֵזֹֽב׃ (and hyssop), 50  וְשָׁחַ֖ט (and he shall slaughter) אֶת־ (-) הַצִּפֹּ֣ר (the birds) הָאֶחָ֑ת (the one) אֶל־ (in) כְּלִי־ (a vessel) חֶ֖רֶשׂ (earthen), עַל־ (over) מַ֥יִם (water) חַיִּֽים׃ (living).

51  וְלָקַ֣ח (And he shall take) אֶת־ (-) עֵֽץ־ (the wood) הָ֠אֶרֶז (cedar), וְאֶת־ (and) הָ֨אֵזֹ֜ב (the hyssop), וְאֵ֣ת׀ (and) שְׁנִ֣י (the yarn) הַתּוֹלַ֗עַת (scarlet), וְאֵת֮ (and) הַצִּפֹּ֣ר (the bird) הַֽחַיָּה֒ (living), וְטָבַ֣ל (and he shall dip) אֹתָ֗ם (them) בְּדַם֙ (in the blood) הַצִּפֹּ֣ר (of the bird) הַשְּׁחוּטָ֔ה (that was slaughtered) וּבַמַּ֖יִם (and in the water) הַֽחַיִּ֑ים (living), וְהִזָּ֥ה (and) אֶל־ (toward) הַבַּ֖יִת (the house) שֶׁ֥בַע (seven) פְּעָמִֽים׃ (times). 52  וְחִטֵּ֣א (And he shall cleanse from sin) אֶת־ (-) הַבַּ֔יִת (the house) בְּדַם֙ (with the blood) הַצִּפּ֔וֹר (of the bird), וּבַמַּ֖יִם (and with the water) הַֽחַיִּ֑ים (living), וּבַצִּפֹּ֣ר (and the bird) הַחַיָּ֗ה (living), וּבְעֵ֥ץ (and with wood) הָאֶ֛רֶז (the cedar), וּבָאֵזֹ֖ב (and with the hyssop), וּבִשְׁנִ֥י (and with yarn) הַתּוֹלָֽעַת׃ (scarlet).

53  וְשִׁלַּ֞ח (And he shall send away) אֶת־ (-) הַצִּפֹּ֧ר (the bird) הַֽחַיָּ֛ה (living) אֶל־ (-) מִח֥וּץ (the outside) לָעִ֖יר (of the city), אֶל־ (to) פְּנֵ֣י (the face) הַשָּׂדֶ֑ה (of the field), וְכִפֶּ֥ר (and he shall make atonement) עַל־ (upon) הַבַּ֖יִת (the house), וְטָהֵֽר׃ (and it shall be clean).

54  זֹ֖את (This is) הַתּוֹרָ֑ה (the law) לְכָל־ (for every) נֶ֥גַע (plague) הַצָּרַ֖עַת (of leprosy), וְלַנָּֽתֶק׃ (and for the scale), 55  וּלְצָרַ֥עַת (and for leprosy) הַבֶּ֖גֶד (of a garment) וְלַבָּֽיִת׃ (and of the house), 56  וְלַשְׂאֵ֥ת (and for a swelling), וְלַסַּפַּ֖חַת (and for a scab), וְלַבֶּהָֽרֶת׃ (and for a bright spot)— 57  לְהוֹרֹ֕ת (to teach) בְּי֥וֹם (in the day) הַטָּמֵ֖א (it is unclean), וּבְי֣וֹם (and in the day) הַטָּהֹ֑ר (of the clean). זֹ֥את (This) תּוֹרַ֖ת (is the law) הַצָּרָֽעַת׃ס (of the leprosy).
