The coastland peoples spread out into their lands. These are Japheth's sons by their clans, in their nations. Each group had its own language. 5By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.

Cush fathered Nimrod, who was the first powerful man on earth. 8And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.
He was a powerful hunter in the sight of the LORD. That is why it is said, "Like Nimrod, a powerful hunter in the sight of the LORD."9He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD.
His kingdom started with Babylon, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.10And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
From that land he went to Assyria and built Nineveh, Rehoboth-ir, Calah, 11Out of that land went forth Asshur, and builded Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah,

The Canaanite border went from Sidon going toward Gerar as far as Gaza, and going toward Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim as far as Lasha. 19And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, unto Gaza; as thou goest, unto Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even unto Lasha.
These are Ham's sons, by their clans, according to their languages, in their own lands and their nations. 20These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations.
And Shem, Japheth's older brother, also had sons. Shem was the father of all the sons of Eber.21Unto Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder, even to him were children born.
