International Standard VersionEnglish Standard Version
The LORD spoke to Moses: 1The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
"On the first day of the first month you are to set up the tent of the Tent of Meeting. 2“On the first day of the first month you shall erect the tabernacle of the tent of meeting.
You are to put the Ark of the Testimony there, and screen off the ark with the curtain. 3And you shall put in it the ark of the testimony, and you shall screen the ark with the veil.
You are to bring in the table and properly arrange what goes on it. Then you are to bring in the lamp stand and set up its lamps.4And you shall bring in the table and arrange it, and you shall bring in the lampstand and set up its lamps.
"You are to put the golden altar for incense in front of the Ark of the Testimony and then set up the screen for the doorway to the tent. 5And you shall put the golden altar for incense before the ark of the testimony, and set up the screen for the door of the tabernacle.
You are to put the altar for burnt offerings in front of the doorway of the tent of the Tent of Meeting. 6You shall set the altar of burnt offering before the door of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting,
You are to put the basin between the Tent of Meeting and the altar and put water in it.7and place the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water in it.
You are to set up the court all around, and hang up the screen for the gate of the court. 8And you shall set up the court all around, and hang up the screen for the gate of the court.
You are to take the anointing oil and anoint the tent and all that is in it. You are to consecrate it and all its furnishings and it will be holy.9“Then you shall take the anointing oil and anoint the tabernacle and all that is in it, and consecrate it and all its furniture, so that it may become holy.
"You are to anoint the altar for burnt offerings and all its utensils. You are to consecrate the altar and the altar will be most holy. 10You shall also anoint the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, and consecrate the altar, so that the altar may become most holy.
You are to anoint the basin and its base and consecrate it. 11You shall also anoint the basin and its stand, and consecrate it.
Then you are to bring Aaron and his sons to the doorway of the Tent of Meeting, and wash them with water. 12Then you shall bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance of the tent of meeting and shall wash them with water
You are to clothe Aaron with the holy garments, you are to anoint him, and consecrate him so he may serve me as priest. 13and put on Aaron the holy garments. And you shall anoint him and consecrate him, that he may serve me as priest.
You are to bring his sons and clothe them with tunics. 14You shall bring his sons also and put coats on them,
You are to anoint them just as you anointed their father so they may serve me as priests. Their anointing is to qualify them to belong to a perpetual priesthood from generation to generation."15and anoint them, as you anointed their father, that they may serve me as priests. And their anointing shall admit them to a perpetual priesthood throughout their generations.”
Moses did everything that the LORD had commanded him, so he did. 16This Moses did; according to all that the LORD commanded him, so he did.
And so in the first month of the second year, on the first day of the month, the tent was set up. 17In the first month in the second year, on the first day of the month, the tabernacle was erected.
Moses set up the tent. He installed its sockets and set its boards in place. He inserted its bars and set up its pillars. 18Moses erected the tabernacle. He laid its bases, and set up its frames, and put in its poles, and raised up its pillars.
He spread the tent over the tent and put the covering of the tent on top of it, just as the LORD had commanded him.19And he spread the tent over the tabernacle and put the covering of the tent over it, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
Then he took the Testimony, put it into the ark, and placed the poles on the ark. He then put the Mercy Seat on top of the ark. 20He took the testimony and put it into the ark, and put the poles on the ark and set the mercy seat above on the ark.
He brought the ark into the tent, set up the curtain, and screened off the Ark of the Testimony, just as the LORD had commanded him.21And he brought the ark into the tabernacle and set up the veil of the screen, and screened the ark of the testimony, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
He put the table in the Tent of Meeting, on the north side of the tent, outside the curtain, 22He put the table in the tent of meeting, on the north side of the tabernacle, outside the veil,
and properly arranged the bread on it in the LORD's presence, just as the LORD had commanded him. 23and arranged the bread on it before the LORD, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
Then he put the lamp stand in the Tent of Meeting, opposite the table on the south side of the tent, 24He put the lampstand in the tent of meeting, opposite the table on the south side of the tabernacle,
and set up the lamps in the LORD's presence, just as the LORD had commanded him.25and set up the lamps before the LORD, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
He put the golden altar in the Tent of Meeting in front of the curtain 26He put the golden altar in the tent of meeting before the veil,
and burned aromatic incense on it, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.27and burned fragrant incense on it, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
He set up the screen for the doorway of the tent. 28He put in place the screen for the door of the tabernacle.
He put the altar for burnt offerings at the doorway of the tent of the Tent of Meeting, and offered the burnt offering and the grain offering on it, just as the LORD had commanded him.29And he set the altar of burnt offering at the entrance of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting, and offered on it the burnt offering and the grain offering, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
He put the basin between the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and put water in it for washing. 30He set the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water in it for washing,
Moses, Aaron, and his sons washed their hands and feet from it. 31with which Moses and Aaron and his sons washed their hands and their feet.
When they entered the Tent of Meeting and approached the altar, they washed, just as the LORD had commanded him.32When they went into the tent of meeting, and when they approached the altar, they washed, as the LORD commanded Moses.
He set up the court all around the tent and the altar, and hung up the screen for the gate of the court. And so Moses finished the work.33And he erected the court around the tabernacle and the altar, and set up the screen of the gate of the court. So Moses finished the work.
The cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tent. 34Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
Moses was not able to enter the Tent of Meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tent. 35And Moses was not able to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud settled on it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
Whenever the cloud was lifted up from the tent, the Israelis would set out on their journey, 36Throughout all their journeys, whenever the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the people of Israel would set out.
but if the cloud was not lifted up, they would not set out until it was lifted up, 37But if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not set out till the day that it was taken up.
since the cloud of the LORD was over the tent by day, and the fire was in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel in all their journeys.38For the cloud of the LORD was on the tabernacle by day, and fire was in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel throughout all their journeys.
