The LORD spoke to Moses: 1Then the LORD spoke to Moses:
"On the first day of the first month you are to set up the tent of the Tent of Meeting. 2"On the first day of the first month you are to set up the tabernacle, the tent of meeting.
You are to put the Ark of the Testimony there, and screen off the ark with the curtain. 3You are to place the ark of the testimony in it and shield the ark with the special curtain.
You are to bring in the table and properly arrange what goes on it. Then you are to bring in the lamp stand and set up its lamps.4You are to bring in the table and set out the things that belong on it; then you are to bring in the lampstand and set up its lamps.
"You are to put the golden altar for incense in front of the Ark of the Testimony and then set up the screen for the doorway to the tent. 5You are to put the gold altar for incense in front of the ark of the testimony and put the curtain at the entrance to the tabernacle.
You are to put the altar for burnt offerings in front of the doorway of the tent of the Tent of Meeting. 6You are to put the altar for the burnt offering in front of the entrance to the tabernacle, the tent of meeting.
You are to put the basin between the Tent of Meeting and the altar and put water in it.7You are to put the large basin between the tent of meeting and the altar and put water in it.
You are to set up the court all around, and hang up the screen for the gate of the court. 8You are to set up the courtyard around it and put the curtain at the gate of the courtyard.
You are to take the anointing oil and anoint the tent and all that is in it. You are to consecrate it and all its furnishings and it will be holy.9And take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle and all that is in it, and sanctify it and all its furnishings, and it will be holy.
"You are to anoint the altar for burnt offerings and all its utensils. You are to consecrate the altar and the altar will be most holy. 10Then you are to anoint the altar for the burnt offering with all its utensils; you are to sanctify the altar, and it will be the most holy altar.
You are to anoint the basin and its base and consecrate it. 11You must also anoint the large basin and its pedestal, and you are to sanctify it.
Then you are to bring Aaron and his sons to the doorway of the Tent of Meeting, and wash them with water. 12"You are to bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance of the tent of meeting and wash them with water.
You are to clothe Aaron with the holy garments, you are to anoint him, and consecrate him so he may serve me as priest. 13Then you are to clothe Aaron with the holy garments and anoint him and sanctify him so that he may minister as my priest.
You are to bring his sons and clothe them with tunics. 14You are to bring his sons and clothe them with tunics
You are to anoint them just as you anointed their father so they may serve me as priests. Their anointing is to qualify them to belong to a perpetual priesthood from generation to generation."15and anoint them just as you anointed their father, so that they may minister as my priests; their anointing will make them a priesthood that will continue throughout their generations."
Moses did everything that the LORD had commanded him, so he did. 16This is what Moses did, according to all the LORD had commanded him--so he did.
And so in the first month of the second year, on the first day of the month, the tent was set up. 17So the tabernacle was set up on the first day of the first month, in the second year.
Moses set up the tent. He installed its sockets and set its boards in place. He inserted its bars and set up its pillars. 18When Moses set up the tabernacle and put its bases in place, he set up its frames, attached its bars, and set up its posts.
He spread the tent over the tent and put the covering of the tent on top of it, just as the LORD had commanded him.19Then he spread the tent over the tabernacle and put the covering of the tent over it, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
Then he took the Testimony, put it into the ark, and placed the poles on the ark. He then put the Mercy Seat on top of the ark. 20He took the testimony and put it in the ark, attached the poles to the ark, and then put the atonement lid on the ark.
He brought the ark into the tent, set up the curtain, and screened off the Ark of the Testimony, just as the LORD had commanded him.21And he brought the ark into the tabernacle, hung the protecting curtain, and shielded the ark of the testimony from view, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
He put the table in the Tent of Meeting, on the north side of the tent, outside the curtain, 22And he put the table in the tent of meeting, on the north side of the tabernacle, outside the curtain.
and properly arranged the bread on it in the LORD's presence, just as the LORD had commanded him. 23And he set the bread in order on it before the LORD, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
Then he put the lamp stand in the Tent of Meeting, opposite the table on the south side of the tent, 24And he put the lampstand in the tent of meeting opposite the table, on the south side of the tabernacle.
and set up the lamps in the LORD's presence, just as the LORD had commanded him.25Then he set up the lamps before the LORD, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
He put the golden altar in the Tent of Meeting in front of the curtain 26And he put the gold altar in the tent of meeting in front of the curtain,
and burned aromatic incense on it, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.27and he burned fragrant incense on it, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
He set up the screen for the doorway of the tent. 28Then he put the curtain at the entrance to the tabernacle.
He put the altar for burnt offerings at the doorway of the tent of the Tent of Meeting, and offered the burnt offering and the grain offering on it, just as the LORD had commanded him.29He also put the altar for the burnt offering by the entrance to the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, and offered on it the burnt offering and the meal offering, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
He put the basin between the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and put water in it for washing. 30Then he put the large basin between the tent of meeting and the altar and put water in it for washing.
Moses, Aaron, and his sons washed their hands and feet from it. 31Moses and Aaron and his sons would wash their hands and their feet from it.
When they entered the Tent of Meeting and approached the altar, they washed, just as the LORD had commanded him.32Whenever they entered the tent of meeting, and whenever they approached the altar, they would wash, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
He set up the court all around the tent and the altar, and hung up the screen for the gate of the court. And so Moses finished the work.33And he set up the courtyard around the tabernacle and the altar, and put the curtain at the gate of the courtyard. So Moses finished the work.
The cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tent. 34Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
Moses was not able to enter the Tent of Meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tent. 35Moses was not able to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud settled on it and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
Whenever the cloud was lifted up from the tent, the Israelis would set out on their journey, 36But when the cloud was lifted up from the tabernacle, the Israelites would set out on all their journeys;
but if the cloud was not lifted up, they would not set out until it was lifted up, 37but if the cloud was not lifted up, then they would not journey further until the day it was lifted up.
since the cloud of the LORD was over the tent by day, and the fire was in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel in all their journeys.38For the cloud of the LORD was on the tabernacle by day, but fire would be on it at night, in plain view of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.
