New International VersionNew American Standard Bible 1995
When all these blessings and curses I have set before you come on you and you take them to heart wherever the LORD your God disperses you among the nations,1"So it shall be when all of these things have come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you call them to mind in all nations where the LORD your God has banished you,
and when you and your children return to the LORD your God and obey him with all your heart and with all your soul according to everything I command you today,2and you return to the LORD your God and obey Him with all your heart and soul according to all that I command you today, you and your sons,
then the LORD your God will restore your fortunes and have compassion on you and gather you again from all the nations where he scattered you.3then the LORD your God will restore you from captivity, and have compassion on you, and will gather you again from all the peoples where the LORD your God has scattered you.
Even if you have been banished to the most distant land under the heavens, from there the LORD your God will gather you and bring you back.4"If your outcasts are at the ends of the earth, from there the LORD your God will gather you, and from there He will bring you back.
He will bring you to the land that belonged to your ancestors, and you will take possession of it. He will make you more prosperous and numerous than your ancestors.5"The LORD your God will bring you into the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it; and He will prosper you and multiply you more than your fathers.
The LORD your God will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your descendants, so that you may love him with all your heart and with all your soul, and live.6"Moreover the LORD your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, so that you may live.
The LORD your God will put all these curses on your enemies who hate and persecute you.7"The LORD your God will inflict all these curses on your enemies and on those who hate you, who persecuted you.
You will again obey the LORD and follow all his commands I am giving you today.8"And you shall again obey the LORD, and observe all His commandments which I command you today.
Then the LORD your God will make you most prosperous in all the work of your hands and in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your land. The LORD will again delight in you and make you prosperous, just as he delighted in your ancestors,9"Then the LORD your God will prosper you abundantly in all the work of your hand, in the offspring of your body and in the offspring of your cattle and in the produce of your ground, for the LORD will again rejoice over you for good, just as He rejoiced over your fathers;
if you obey the LORD your God and keep his commands and decrees that are written in this Book of the Law and turn to the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.10if you obey the LORD your God to keep His commandments and His statutes which are written in this book of the law, if you turn to the LORD your God with all your heart and soul.
Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach.11"For this commandment which I command you today is not too difficult for you, nor is it out of reach.
It is not up in heaven, so that you have to ask, "Who will ascend into heaven to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?"12"It is not in heaven, that you should say, 'Who will go up to heaven for us to get it for us and make us hear it, that we may observe it?'
Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, "Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?"13"Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, 'Who will cross the sea for us to get it for us and make us hear it, that we may observe it?'
No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it.14"But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may observe it.
See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction.15"See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, and death and adversity;
For I command you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the LORD your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.16in that I command you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, that you may live and multiply, and that the LORD your God may bless you in the land where you are entering to possess it.
But if your heart turns away and you are not obedient, and if you are drawn away to bow down to other gods and worship them,17"But if your heart turns away and you will not obey, but are drawn away and worship other gods and serve them,
I declare to you this day that you will certainly be destroyed. You will not live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess.18I declare to you today that you shall surely perish. You will not prolong your days in the land where you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess it.
This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live19"I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants,
and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.20by loving the LORD your God, by obeying His voice, and by holding fast to Him; for this is your life and the length of your days, that you may live in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them."
