Provision for Priests and Levites
(1 Corinthians 9:1–18)

1  לֹֽא־ (Not) יִ֠הְיֶה (shall be) לַכֹּהֲנִ֨ים (to the priests) הַלְוִיִּ֜ם (the Levites)— כָּל־ (all) שֵׁ֧בֶט (the tribe) לֵוִ֛י (of Levi)— חֵ֥לֶק (a portion) וְנַחֲלָ֖ה (or inheritance) עִם־ (with) יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל (Israel); אִשֵּׁ֧י (the fire offerings) יְהוָ֛ה (of YHWH), וְנַחֲלָת֖וֹ (and His inheritance), יֹאכֵלֽוּן׃ (they shall eat). 2  וְנַחֲלָ֥ה (And an inheritance) לֹא־ (not) יִֽהְיֶה־ (shall be) לּ֖וֹ (unto them) בְּקֶ֣רֶב (among) אֶחָ֑יו (their brothers); יְהוָה֙ (YHWH) ה֣וּא (is) נַחֲלָת֔וֹ (their inheritance), כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר (as) דִּבֶּר־ (He has spoken) לֽוֹ׃ס (to them).

3  וְזֶ֡ה (And this) יִהְיֶה֩ (shall be) מִשְׁפַּ֨ט (the right) הַכֹּהֲנִ֜ים (of the priest) מֵאֵ֣ת (from) הָעָ֗ם (the people), מֵאֵ֛ת (from) זֹבְחֵ֥י (those who offer) הַזֶּ֖בַח (a sacrifice), אִם־ (whether it is) שׁ֣וֹר (a bull) אִם־ (or) שֶׂ֑ה (a sheep); וְנָתַן֙ (and he shall give) לַכֹּהֵ֔ן (to the priest) הַזְּרֹ֥עַ (the shoulder), וְהַלְּחָיַ֖יִם (and the cheeks), וְהַקֵּבָֽה׃ (and the stomach). 4  רֵאשִׁ֨ית (The firstfruits) דְּגָֽנְךָ֜ (of your grain), תִּֽירֹשְׁךָ֣ (and your new wine), וְיִצְהָרֶ֗ךָ (and your oil), וְרֵאשִׁ֛ית (and the first) גֵּ֥ז (of the fleece) צֹאנְךָ֖ (of your sheep), תִּתֶּן־ (you shall give) לּֽוֹ׃ (to him). 5  כִּ֣י (For) ב֗וֹ (in him) בָּחַ֛ר (has chosen) יְהוָ֥ה (YHWH) אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ (your God) מִכָּל־ (out of all) שְׁבָטֶ֑יךָ (your tribes) לַעֲמֹ֨ד (to stand) לְשָׁרֵ֧ת (to minister) בְּשֵׁם־ (in the name) יְהוָ֛ה (of YHWH), ה֥וּא (he) וּבָנָ֖יו (and his sons) כָּל־ (for all) הַיָּמִֽים׃ס (the days).

6  וְכִֽי־ (And if) יָבֹ֨א (comes) הַלֵּוִ֜י (a Levite) מֵאַחַ֤ד (from one) שְׁעָרֶ֙יךָ֙ (of your gates) מִכָּל־ (among all) יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל (Israel), אֲשֶׁר־ (from where) ה֖וּא (he) גָּ֣ר (dwells) שָׁ֑ם (there), וּבָא֙ (and he comes) בְּכָל־ (with all) אַוַּ֣ת (the desire) נַפְשׁ֔וֹ (of his soul) אֶל־ (to) הַמָּק֖וֹם (the place) אֲשֶׁר־ (that) יִבְחַ֥ר (chooses) יְהוָֽה׃ (YHWH), 7  וְשֵׁרֵ֕ת (and he may serve) בְּשֵׁ֖ם (in the name) יְהוָ֣ה (of YHWH) אֱלֹהָ֑יו (his God), כְּכָל־ (as all) אֶחָיו֙ (his brothers) הַלְוִיִּ֔ם (the Levites) הָעֹמְדִ֥ים (who stand) שָׁ֖ם (there) לִפְנֵ֥י (before the face of) יְהוָֽה׃ (YHWH). 8  חֵ֥לֶק (Portion) כְּחֵ֖לֶק (as portion) יֹאכֵ֑לוּ (they shall have to eat), לְבַ֥ד (besides) מִמְכָּרָ֖יו (the sale by him) עַל־ (of that of) הָאָבֽוֹת׃ס (the fathers).

9  כִּ֤י (When) אַתָּה֙ (you) בָּ֣א (come) אֶל־ (into) הָאָ֔רֶץ (the land) אֲשֶׁר־ (that) יְהוָ֥ה (YHWH) אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ (your God) נֹתֵ֣ן (is giving) לָ֑ךְ (to you), לֹֽא־ (not) תִלְמַ֣ד (you shall learn) לַעֲשׂ֔וֹת (to follow) כְּתוֹעֲבֹ֖ת (the abominations) הַגּוֹיִ֥ם (of the nations) הָהֵֽם׃ (these). 10  לֹֽא־ (Not) יִמָּצֵ֣א (there shall be found) בְךָ֔ (among you) מַעֲבִ֥יר (one who makes pass through) בְּנֽוֹ־ (his son) וּבִתּ֖וֹ (or his daughter) בָּאֵ֑שׁ (the fire), קֹסֵ֣ם (a user) קְסָמִ֔ים (of divinations) מְעוֹנֵ֥ן (a soothsayer), וּמְנַחֵ֖שׁ (or a diviner), וּמְכַשֵּֽׁף׃ (or a sorcerer), 11  וְחֹבֵ֖ר (or one who conjures) חָ֑בֶר (spells) וְשֹׁאֵ֥ל (or consults) אוֹב֙ (a medium), וְיִדְּעֹנִ֔י (or a spiritist), וְדֹרֵ֖שׁ (or a seeker) אֶל־ (of) הַמֵּתִֽים׃ (the dead). 12  כִּֽי־ (For) תוֹעֲבַ֥ת (an abomination) יְהוָ֖ה (to YHWH) כָּל־ (is everyone) עֹ֣שֵׂה (doing) אֵ֑לֶּה (these things), וּבִגְלַל֙ (and because) הַתּוֹעֵבֹ֣ת (of the abominations) הָאֵ֔לֶּה (these) יְהוָ֣ה (YHWH) אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ (your God) מוֹרִ֥ישׁ (is driving out) אוֹתָ֖ם (them) מִפָּנֶֽיךָ׃ (from before you).

13  תָּמִ֣ים (Blameless) תִּֽהְיֶ֔ה (you shall be) עִ֖ם (before) יְהוָ֥ה (YHWH) אֱלֹהֶֽיךָ׃ס (your God). 14  כִּ֣י׀ (For) הַגּוֹיִ֣ם (the nations) הָאֵ֗לֶּה (these) אֲשֶׁ֤ר (that) אַתָּה֙ (you) יוֹרֵ֣שׁ (will dispossess) אוֹתָ֔ם (-) אֶל־ (to) מְעֹנְנִ֥ים (soothsayers) וְאֶל־ (and) קֹסְמִ֖ים (diviners) יִשְׁמָ֑עוּ (listened). וְאַתָּ֕ה (And as for you), לֹ֣א (not) כֵ֔ן (to do so). נָ֛תַן (Has given) לְךָ֖ (for you) יְהוָ֥ה (YHWH) אֱלֹהֶֽיךָ׃ (your God).

A Prophet Like Moses
(Acts 3:11–26)

15  נָבִ֨יא (A prophet) מִקִּרְבְּךָ֤ (from among you), מֵאַחֶ֙יךָ֙ (from your brothers), כָּמֹ֔נִי (like me), יָקִ֥ים (will raise up) לְךָ֖ (for you) יְהוָ֣ה (YHWH) אֱלֹהֶ֑יךָ (your God) אֵלָ֖יו (to him) תִּשְׁמָעֽוּן׃ (you⁺ must listen). 16  כְּכֹ֨ל (According to all) אֲשֶׁר־ (that) שָׁאַ֜לְתָּ (you desired) מֵעִ֨ם (of) יְהוָ֤ה (YHWH) אֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙ (your God) בְּחֹרֵ֔ב (in Horeb) בְּי֥וֹם (in the day) הַקָּהָ֖ל (of the assembly), לֵאמֹ֑ר (saying), לֹ֣א (Not) אֹסֵ֗ף (let me hear) לִשְׁמֹ֙עַ֙ (again) אֶת־ (-) קוֹל֙ (the voice) יְהוָ֣ה (of YHWH) אֱלֹהָ֔י (my God), וְאֶת־ (and) הָאֵ֨שׁ (the fire) הַגְּדֹלָ֥ה (great) הַזֹּ֛את (this) לֹֽא־ (not) אֶרְאֶ֥ה (let me see) ע֖וֹד (anymore), וְלֹ֥א (so that not) אָמֽוּת׃ (I will die).

17  וַיֹּ֥אמֶר (And said) יְהוָ֖ה (YHWH) אֵלָ֑י (to me), הֵיטִ֖יבוּ (Is good) אֲשֶׁ֥ר (what) דִּבֵּֽרוּ׃ (they have spoken). 18  נָבִ֨יא (A prophet) אָקִ֥ים (I will raise up) לָהֶ֛ם (for them) מִקֶּ֥רֶב (from among) אֲחֵיהֶ֖ם (their brothers), כָּמ֑וֹךָ (like you), וְנָתַתִּ֤י (and I will put) דְבָרַי֙ (My words) בְּפִ֔יו (in his mouth), וְדִבֶּ֣ר (and he shall speak) אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם (to them) אֵ֖ת (-) כָּל־ (all) אֲשֶׁ֥ר (that) אֲצַוֶּֽנּוּ׃ (I command him). 19  וְהָיָ֗ה (And it shall come to pass) הָאִישׁ֙ (-) אֲשֶׁ֤ר (that whoever) לֹֽא־ (not) יִשְׁמַע֙ (will listen) אֶל־ (to) דְּבָרַ֔י (My words), אֲשֶׁ֥ר (which) יְדַבֵּ֖ר (he speaks) בִּשְׁמִ֑י (in My name), אָנֹכִ֖י (I) אֶדְרֹ֥שׁ (will require it) מֵעִמּֽוֹ׃ (of him). 20  אַ֣ךְ (But) הַנָּבִ֡יא (the prophet) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (who) יָזִיד֩ (presumes) לְדַבֵּ֨ר (to speak) דָּבָ֜ר (a word) בִּשְׁמִ֗י (in My name) אֵ֣ת (-) אֲשֶׁ֤ר (that) לֹֽא־ (not) צִוִּיתִיו֙ (I have commanded him) לְדַבֵּ֔ר (to speak), וַאֲשֶׁ֣ר (or who) יְדַבֵּ֔ר (speaks) בְּשֵׁ֖ם (in the name) אֱלֹהִ֣ים (of gods) אֲחֵרִ֑ים (other)— וּמֵ֖ת (and must be put to death) הַנָּבִ֥יא (the prophet) הַהֽוּא׃ (that).

21  וְכִ֥י (And if) תֹאמַ֖ר (you say) בִּלְבָבֶ֑ךָ (in your heart), אֵיכָה֙ (How) נֵדַ֣ע (shall we know) אֶת־ (-) הַדָּבָ֔ר (the word) אֲשֶׁ֥ר (that) לֹא־ (not) דִבְּר֖וֹ (has spoken) יְהוָֽה׃ (YHWH)? 22  אֲשֶׁר֩ (When) יְדַבֵּ֨ר (speaks) הַנָּבִ֜יא (a prophet) בְּשֵׁ֣ם (in the name) יְהוָ֗ה (of YHWH) וְלֹֽא־ (and not) יִהְיֶ֤ה (does happen) הַדָּבָר֙ (the thing), וְלֹ֣א (and not) יָב֔וֹא (it comes to pass), ה֣וּא (it is) הַדָּבָ֔ר (the thing) אֲשֶׁ֥ר (that) לֹא־ (not) דִבְּר֖וֹ (has spoken) יְהוָ֑ה (YHWH). בְּזָדוֹן֙ (Proudly) דִּבְּר֣וֹ (has spoken it) הַנָּבִ֔יא (the prophet); לֹ֥א (not) תָג֖וּר (you shall be afraid) מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ס (of him).
