Judah’s false prophets assured the people that Babylon would not subdue them, directly opposing Jeremiah’s warning from the LORD. Their message of safety encouraged resistance to God’s discipline and gave the nation false confidence.

Discernment of Truth
Believers must be vigilant in discerning true messages from God versus false teachings. This requires a deep understanding of Scripture and reliance on the Holy Spirit.

Consequences of Deception
Following false teachings can lead to spiritual exile and destruction. It is crucial to align oneself with God's truth to avoid such outcomes.

Faithfulness in Adversity
Like Jeremiah, Christians are called to remain faithful to God's truth even when it is unpopular or leads to personal hardship.

The Role of Prophets
True prophets are God's mouthpieces, delivering messages that align with His character and purposes. Believers should test all teachings against the Word of God.

(10) To remove you far from your land.--The prophet speaks of what he foresees will be the result of the rebellion to which soothsayers and diviners were urging men, as if it were actually contemplated by them. They are to him like the lying spirit in the mouth of Ahab's prophets persuading him to go up to Ramoth Gilead to battle, in order that he might perish.

Verse 10. - To remove you far; or, more distinctly, that I may remove you far. So Isaiah 6:12, "(Until) Jehovah have removed men afar off." The deportation policy of the Assyrians and Babylonians was overruled by God for his own deep purposes.

Jeremiah 27:10 exposes a sobering chain: lies breed disobedience, disobedience brings displacement, displacement comes by God’s own hand, and unrepentant hearts finally perish. The verse calls believers to prize truthful prophecy, submit to God’s corrective authority, and cling to the life found in obedient faith.
