| 2I will declare that your love stands firm forever, that you have established your faithfulness in heaven itself. | 2For I will declare," Faithful love is built up forever; You establish Your faithfulness in the heavens." |
| 3You said, "I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to David my servant, | 3The LORD said," I have made a covenant with My chosen one; I have sworn an oath to David My servant: |

| 39You have renounced the covenant with your servant and have defiled his crown in the dust. | 39You have repudiated the covenant with Your servant; You have completely dishonored his crown. |
| 40You have broken through all his walls and reduced his strongholds to ruins. | 40You have broken down all his walls; You have reduced his fortified cities to ruins. |
