How blessed are those whose life is blameless, who walk in the Law of the LORD!1Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the LORD.
How blessed are those who observe his decrees, who seek him with all of their heart,2Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts.
who practice no evil while they walk in his ways.3They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in his paths.
You have commanded concerning your precepts, that they be guarded with diligence.4You have charged us to keep your commandments carefully.
Oh, that my ways were steadfast, so I may keep your statutes.5Oh, that my actions would consistently reflect your decrees!
Then I will not be ashamed, since my eyes will be fixed on all of your commands.6Then I will not be ashamed when I compare my life with your commands.
I will praise you with an upright heart, as I learn your righteous decrees.7As I learn your righteous regulations, I will thank you by living as I should!
I will keep your statutes; do not ever abandon me.8I will obey your decrees. Please don’t give up on me! Beth
How can a young man keep his behavior pure? By guarding it in accordance with your word.9How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word.
I have sought you with all of my heart; do not let me drift away from your commands.10I have tried hard to find you— don’t let me wander from your commands.
I have stored what you have said in my heart, so I won't sin against you.11I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
Blessed are you, LORD! Teach me your statutes.12I praise you, O LORD; teach me your decrees.
I have spoken with my lips about all your decrees that you have announced. 13I have recited aloud all the regulations you have given us.
I find joy in the path of your decrees, as if I owned all kinds of riches.14I have rejoiced in your laws as much as in riches.
I will meditate on your precepts, and I will respect your ways.15I will study your commandments and reflect on your ways.
I am delighted with your statutes; I will not forget your word. 16I will delight in your decrees and not forget your word. Gimel
Deal kindly with your servant so I may live and keep your word. 17Be good to your servant, that I may live and obey your word.
Open my eyes so that I will observe amazing things from your instruction. 18Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your instructions.
Since I am a stranger on the earth, do not hide your commands from me.19I am only a foreigner in the land. Don’t hide your commands from me!
My soul is consumed with longing for your decrees at all times.20I am always overwhelmed with a desire for your regulations.
You rebuke the accursed ones, who wander from your commands.21You rebuke the arrogant; those who wander from your commands are cursed.
Remove scorn and disrespect from me, for I observe your decrees.22Don’t let them scorn and insult me, for I have obeyed your laws.
Though nobles take their seat and gossip about me, your servant will meditate on your statutes.23Even princes sit and speak against me, but I will meditate on your decrees.
I take joy in your decrees, for they are my counselors.24Your laws please me; they give me wise advice. Daleth
My soul clings to the dust; revive me according to your word.25I lie in the dust; revive me by your word.
I have talked about my ways, and you have answered me; Teach me your statutes.26I told you my plans, and you answered. Now teach me your decrees.
Help me understand how your precepts function, and I will meditate on your wondrous acts.27Help me understand the meaning of your commandments, and I will meditate on your wonderful deeds.
I weep because of sorrow; fortify me according to your word.28I weep with sorrow; encourage me by your word.
Remove false paths from me; and graciously give me your instruction. 29Keep me from lying to myself; give me the privilege of knowing your instructions.
I have chosen the faithful way; I have firmly placed your ordinances before me. 30I have chosen to be faithful; I have determined to live by your regulations.
I cling to your decrees; LORD, do not put me to shame.31I cling to your laws. LORD, don’t let me be put to shame!
I eagerly race along the way of your commands, for you enable me to do so. 32I will pursue your commands, for you expand my understanding. He
Teach me, LORD, about the way of your statutes, and I will observe them without fail. 33Teach me your decrees, O LORD; I will keep them to the end.
Give me understanding and I will observe your instruction. I will keep it with all of my heart.34Give me understanding and I will obey your instructions; I will put them into practice with all my heart.
Help me live my life by your commands, because my joy is in them.35Make me walk along the path of your commands, for that is where my happiness is found.
Turn my heart to your decrees and away from unjust gain.36Give me an eagerness for your laws rather than a love for money!
Turn my eyes away from gazing at worthless things, and revive me by your ways.37Turn my eyes from worthless things, and give me life through your word.
Confirm your promise to your servant, which is for those who fear you.38Reassure me of your promise, made to those who fear you.
Turn away the shame that I dread, because your ordinances are good.39Help me abandon my shameful ways; for your regulations are good.
Look, I long for your precepts; revive me through your righteousness.40I long to obey your commandments! Renew my life with your goodness. Waw
May your gracious love come to me, LORD, your salvation, just as you said.41LORD, give me your unfailing love, the salvation that you promised me.
Then I can answer the one who insults me, for I place my trust in your word.42Then I can answer those who taunt me, for I trust in your word.
Never take your truthful words from me, For I wait for your ordinances.43Do not snatch your word of truth from me, for your regulations are my only hope.
Then I will always keep your Law, forever and ever,44I will keep on obeying your instructions forever and ever.
I will walk in liberty, for I seek your precepts.45I will walk in freedom, for I have devoted myself to your commandments.
Then I will speak of your decrees before kings and not be ashamed.46I will speak to kings about your laws, and I will not be ashamed.
I will take delight in your commands, which I love.47How I delight in your commands! How I love them!
I will lift up my hands to your commands, which I love, and I will meditate on your statutes.48I honor and love your commands. I meditate on your decrees. Zayin
Remember what you said to your servant, by which you caused me to hope.49Remember your promise to me; it is my only hope.
This is what comforts me in my troubles: that what you say revives me.50Your promise revives me; it comforts me in all my troubles.
Even though the arrogant utterly deride me, I do not turn away from your instruction. 51The proud hold me in utter contempt, but I do not turn away from your instructions.
I have remembered your ancient ordinances, LORD, and I take comfort in them.52I meditate on your age-old regulations; O LORD, they comfort me.
I burn with indignation because of the wicked who forsake your instruction. 53I become furious with the wicked, because they reject your instructions.
Your statutes are my songs, no matter where I make my home. 54Your decrees have been the theme of my songs wherever I have lived.
In the night I remember your name, LORD, and keep your instruction. 55I reflect at night on who you are, O LORD; therefore, I obey your instructions.
I have made it my personal responsibility to keep your precepts.56This is how I spend my life: obeying your commandments. Heth
The LORD is my inheritance; I have given my promise to keep your word.57LORD, you are mine! I promise to obey your words!
I have sought your favor with all of my heart; be gracious to me according to your promise.58With all my heart I want your blessings. Be merciful as you promised.
I examined my lifestyle and set my feet in the direction of your decrees.59I pondered the direction of my life, and I turned to follow your laws.
I hurried and did not procrastinate to keep your commands.60I will hurry, without delay, to obey your commands.
Though the ropes of the wicked have ensnared me, I have not forgotten your instruction. 61Evil people try to drag me into sin, but I am firmly anchored to your instructions.
At midnight I will get up to thank you for your righteous ordinances.62I rise at midnight to thank you for your just regulations.
I am united with all who fear you, and with everyone who keeps your precepts.63I am a friend to anyone who fears you— anyone who obeys your commandments.
LORD, the earth overflows with your gracious love! Teach me your statutes.64O LORD, your unfailing love fills the earth; teach me your decrees. Teth
LORD, you have dealt well with your servant, according to your word.65You have done many good things for me, LORD, just as you promised.
Teach me both knowledge and appropriate discretion, because I believe in your commands.66I believe in your commands; now teach me good judgment and knowledge.
Before I was humbled, I wandered away, but now I observe your words.67I used to wander off until you disciplined me; but now I closely follow your word.
LORD, you are good , and do what is good; teach me your statutes.68You are good and do only good; teach me your decrees.
The arrogant have accused me falsely; but I will observe your precepts wholeheartedly.69Arrogant people smear me with lies, but in truth I obey your commandments with all my heart.
Their minds are clogged as with greasy fat, but I find joy in your instruction. 70Their hearts are dull and stupid, but I delight in your instructions.
It was for my good that I was humbled; so that I would learn your statutes.71My suffering was good for me, for it taught me to pay attention to your decrees.
Instruction that comes from you is better for me than thousands of gold and silver coins. 72Your instructions are more valuable to me than millions in gold and silver. Yodh
Your hands made and formed me; give me understanding, that I may learn your commands.73You made me; you created me. Now give me the sense to follow your commands.
May those who fear you see me and be glad, for I have hoped in your word.74May all who fear you find in me a cause for joy, for I have put my hope in your word.
I know, LORD, that your decrees are just, and that you have rightfully humbled me.75I know, O LORD, that your regulations are fair; you disciplined me because I needed it.
May your gracious love comfort me in accordance with your promise to your servant.76Now let your unfailing love comfort me, just as you promised me, your servant.
May your mercies come to me that I may live, for your instruction is my delight.77Surround me with your tender mercies so I may live, for your instructions are my delight.
May the arrogant become ashamed, because they have subverted me with deceit; as for me, I will meditate on your precepts.78Bring disgrace upon the arrogant people who lied about me; meanwhile, I will concentrate on your commandments.
May those who fear you turn to me, along with those who know your decrees.79Let me be united with all who fear you, with those who know your laws.
May my heart be blameless with respect to your statutes so that I may not become ashamed.80May I be blameless in keeping your decrees; then I will never be ashamed. Kaph
I long for your deliverance; I have looked to your word, placing my hope in it.81I am worn out waiting for your rescue, but I have put my hope in your word.
My eyes grow weary with respect to what you have promised— I keep asking, "When will you comfort me?"82My eyes are straining to see your promises come true. When will you comfort me?
Though I have become like a water skin dried by smoke, I have not forgotten your statutes.83I am shriveled like a wineskin in the smoke, but I have not forgotten to obey your decrees.
How many days must your servant endure this? When will you judge those who persecute me?84How long must I wait? When will you punish those who persecute me?
The arrogant have dug pitfalls for me disobeying your instruction. 85These arrogant people who hate your instructions have dug deep pits to trap me.
All of your commands are reliable. I am persecuted without cause—help me!86All your commands are trustworthy. Protect me from those who hunt me down without cause.
Though the arrogant nearly destroyed me on earth, I did not abandon your precepts.87They almost finished me off, but I refused to abandon your commandments.
Revive me according to your gracious love; and I will keep the decrees that you have proclaimed.88In your unfailing love, spare my life; then I can continue to obey your laws. Lamedh
Your word is forever, LORD; it is firmly established in heaven.89Your eternal word, O LORD, stands firm in heaven.
Your faithfulness continues from generation to generation. You established the earth, and it stands firm.90Your faithfulness extends to every generation, as enduring as the earth you created.
To this day they stand by means of your rulings, for all things serve you.91Your regulations remain true to this day, for everything serves your plans.
Had your instruction not been my pleasure, I would have died in my affliction.92If your instructions hadn’t sustained me with joy, I would have died in my misery.
I will never forget your precepts, for you have revived me with them.93I will never forget your commandments, for by them you give me life.
I am yours, so save me, since I have sought your precepts.94I am yours; rescue me! For I have worked hard at obeying your commandments.
The wicked lay in wait to destroy me, while I ponder your decrees.95Though the wicked hide along the way to kill me, I will quietly keep my mind on your laws.
I have observed that all things have their limit, but your commandment is very broad.96Even perfection has its limits, but your commands have no limit. Mem
How I love your instruction! Every day it is my meditation.97Oh, how I love your instructions! I think about them all day long.
Your commands make me wiser than my adversaries, since they are always with me.98Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are my constant guide.
I am more insightful than my teachers, because your decrees are my meditations.99Yes, I have more insight than my teachers, for I am always thinking of your laws.
I have more common sense than the elders, for I observe your precepts.100I am even wiser than my elders, for I have kept your commandments.
I keep away from every evil choice so that I may keep your word. 101I have refused to walk on any evil path, so that I may remain obedient to your word.
I do not avoid your judgments, for you pointed them out to me.102I haven’t turned away from your regulations, for you have taught me well.
How pleasing is what you have to say to me— tasting better than honey.103How sweet your words taste to me; they are sweeter than honey.
I obtain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every false way.104Your commandments give me understanding; no wonder I hate every false way of life. Nun
Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light for my pathway.105Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.
I have given my word and affirmed it, to keep your righteous judgments.106I’ve promised it once, and I’ll promise it again: I will obey your righteous regulations.
I am severely afflicted. Revive me, LORD, according to your word.107I have suffered much, O LORD; restore my life again as you promised.
LORD, please accept my voluntary offerings of praise, and teach me your judgments.108LORD, accept my offering of praise, and teach me your regulations.
Though I constantly take my life in my hands, I do not forget your instruction. 109My life constantly hangs in the balance, but I will not stop obeying your instructions.
Though the wicked lay a trap for me, I haven't wandered away from your precepts.110The wicked have set their traps for me, but I will not turn from your commandments.
I have inherited your decrees forever, because they are the joy of my heart.111Your laws are my treasure; they are my heart’s delight.
As a result, I am determined to carry out your statutes forever.112I am determined to keep your decrees to the very end. Samekh
I despise the double-minded, but I love your instruction. 113I hate those with divided loyalties, but I love your instructions.
You are my fortress and shield; I hope in your word.114You are my refuge and my shield; your word is my source of hope.
Leave me, you who practice evil, that I may observe the commands of my God.115Get out of my life, you evil-minded people, for I intend to obey the commands of my God.
Sustain me, God, as you have promised, and I will live. Do not let me be ashamed of my hope.116LORD, sustain me as you promised, that I may live! Do not let my hope be crushed.
Support me, that I may be saved, and I will carry out your statutes consistently.117Sustain me, and I will be rescued; then I will meditate continually on your decrees.
You reject all who wander from your statutes, since their deceitfulness is vain.118But you have rejected all who stray from your decrees. They are only fooling themselves.
You remove all the wicked of the earth like dross; therefore I love your decrees.119You skim off the wicked of the earth like scum; no wonder I love to obey your laws!
My flesh trembles out of fear of you, and I am in awe of your judgments.120I tremble in fear of you; I stand in awe of your regulations. Ayin
I have acted with justice and righteousness; do not abandon me to my oppressors.121Don’t leave me to the mercy of my enemies, for I have done what is just and right.
Back up your servant in a positive way; do not let the arrogant oppress me.122Please guarantee a blessing for me. Don’t let the arrogant oppress me!
My eyes fail as I look for your salvation and for your righteous promise.123My eyes strain to see your rescue, to see the truth of your promise fulfilled.
Act toward your servant consistent with your gracious love, and teach me your statutes.124I am your servant; deal with me in unfailing love, and teach me your decrees.
Since I am your servant, give me understanding, so I will know your decrees.125Give discernment to me, your servant; then I will understand your laws.
It is time for the LORD to act, since they have violated your instruction. 126LORD, it is time for you to act, for these evil people have violated your instructions.
I truly love your commands more than gold, including fine gold.127Truly, I love your commands more than gold, even the finest gold.
I truly consider all of your precepts—all of them—to be just, while I despise every false way.128Each of your commandments is right. That is why I hate every false way. Pe
Your decrees are wonderful— that's why I observe them.129Your laws are wonderful. No wonder I obey them!
The disclosure of your words illuminates, providing understanding to the simple.130The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand.
I open my mouth and pant as I long for your commands.131I pant with expectation, longing for your commands.
Turn in my direction and show mercy to me, as you have decreed regarding those who love your name.132Come and show me your mercy, as you do for all who love your name.
Direct my footsteps by your promise, and do not let any kind of iniquity rule over me.133Guide my steps by your word, so I will not be overcome by evil.

LORD, you are righteous, and your judgments are right.137O LORD, you are righteous, and your regulations are fair.
You have ordered your decrees to us rightly, and they are very faithful.138Your laws are perfect and completely trustworthy.
My zeal consumes me because my enemies forget your words.139I am overwhelmed with indignation, for my enemies have disregarded your words.
Your word is very pure, and your servant loves it.140Your promises have been thoroughly tested; that is why I love them so much.
Though I may be small and despised, I do not neglect your precepts.141I am insignificant and despised, but I don’t forget your commandments.
Your righteousness is an eternal righteousness, and your instruction is true.142Your justice is eternal, and your instructions are perfectly true.
Though trouble and anguish overwhelm me, your commands remain my delight.143As pressure and stress bear down on me, I find joy in your commands.
Your righteous decrees are eternal; give me understanding, and I will live.144Your laws are always right; help me to understand them so I may live. Qoph
I have cried out with all of my heart. Answer me, LORD! I will observe your statutes.145I pray with all my heart; answer me, LORD! I will obey your decrees.

Hear my voice according to your gracious love. LORD, revive me in keeping with your justice.149In your faithful love, O LORD, hear my cry; let me be revived by following your regulations.
Those who pursue wickedness draw near; they remain far from your instruction. 150Lawless people are coming to attack me; they live far from your instructions.
You are near, LORD, and all of your commands are true.151But you are near, O LORD, and all your commands are true.
I discovered long ago about your decrees that you have confirmed them forever.152I have known from my earliest days that your laws will last forever. Resh

Defend my case and redeem me; revive me according to your promise.154Argue my case; take my side! Protect my life as you promised.
Deliverance remains remote from the wicked, for they do not seek your statutes.155The wicked are far from rescue, for they do not bother with your decrees.
Your mercies are magnificent, LORD; revive me according to your judgments.156LORD, how great is your mercy; let me be revived by following your regulations.
Though my persecutors and adversaries are numerous, I do not turn aside from your decrees.157Many persecute and trouble me, yet I have not swerved from your laws.
I watch the treacherous, and despise them, because they do not do what you have said.158Seeing these traitors makes me sick at heart, because they care nothing for your word.
Look how I love your precepts, LORD; revive me according to your gracious love.159See how I love your commandments, LORD. Give back my life because of your unfailing love.

Let my request come before you; deliver me, as you have promised.170Listen to my prayer; rescue me as you promised.
May my lips utter praise, for you teach me your statutes.171Let praise flow from my lips, for you have taught me your decrees.
May my tongue sing about your promise, for all of your commands are right.172Let my tongue sing about your word, for all your commands are right.
May your hand stand ready to assist me, for I have chosen your precepts.173Give me a helping hand, for I have chosen to follow your commandments.
I am longing for your deliverance, LORD, and your instruction is my joy.174O LORD, I have longed for your rescue, and your instructions are my delight.
Let me live, and I will praise you; let your ordinances help me.175Let me live so I can praise you, and may your regulations help me.
I have wandered away like a lost sheep; come find your servant, for I do not forget your commands.176I have wandered away like a lost sheep; come and find me, for I have not forgotten your commands.
