1Now this is the genealogy of the sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And sons were born to them after the flood.1This is the account of Noah's sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Sons were born to them after the flood.
2The sons of Japheth were Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.2The sons of Japheth were Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.
3The sons of Gomer were Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.3The sons of Gomer were Askenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.
4The sons of Javan were Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.4The sons of Javan were Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittim, and the Dodanim.

6The sons of Ham were Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.6The sons of Ham were Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.
7The sons of Cush were Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabtechah; and the sons of Raamah were Sheba and Dedan.7The sons of Cush were Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca. The sons of Raamah were Sheba and Dedan.
8Cush begot Nimrod; he began to be a mighty one on the earth.8Cush was the father of Nimrod; he began to be a valiant warrior on the earth.
9He was a mighty hunter before the LORD; therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD.”9He was a mighty hunter before the LORD. (That is why it is said, "Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before the LORD.")
10And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.10The primary regions of his kingdom were Babel, Erech, Akkad, and Calneh in the land of Shinar.
11From that land he went to Assyria and built Nineveh, Rehoboth Ir, Calah,11From that land he went to Assyria, where he built Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir, Calah,
12and Resen between Nineveh and Calah (that is the principal city).12and Resen, which is between Nineveh and the great city Calah.
13Mizraim begot Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim,13Mizraim was the father of the Ludites, Anamites, Lehabites, Naphtuhites,
14Pathrusim, and Casluhim (from whom came the Philistines and Caphtorim).14Pathrusites, Casluhites (from whom the Philistines came), and Caphtorites.
15Canaan begot Sidon his firstborn, and Heth;15Canaan was the father of Sidon his firstborn, Heth,
16the Jebusite, the Amorite, and the Girgashite;16the Jebusites, Amorites, Girgashites,
17the Hivite, the Arkite, and the Sinite;17Hivites, Arkites, Sinites,
18the Arvadite, the Zemarite, and the Hamathite. Afterward the families of the Canaanites were dispersed.18Arvadites, Zemarites, and Hamathites. Eventually the families of the Canaanites were scattered
19And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon as you go toward Gerar, as far as Gaza; then as you go toward Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha.19and the borders of Canaan extended from Sidon all the way to Gerar as far as Gaza, and all the way to Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha.
20These were the sons of Ham, according to their families, according to their languages, in their lands and in their nations.20These are the sons of Ham, according to their families, according to their languages, by their lands, and by their nations.
21And children were born also to Shem, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder.21And sons were also born to Shem (the older brother of Japheth), the father of all the sons of Eber.
22The sons of Shem were Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud, and Aram.22The sons of Shem were Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud, and Aram.

26Joktan begot Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,26Joktan was the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,
27Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,27Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,
28Obal, Abimael, Sheba,28Obal, Abimael, Sheba,
29Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.29Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All these were sons of Joktan.
30And their dwelling place was from Mesha as you go toward Sephar, the mountain of the east.30Their dwelling place was from Mesha all the way to Sephar in the eastern hills.
