1He said to his disciples, "Offenses will certainly come, but woe to the one through whom they come!1Εἶπεν δὲ πρὸς τοὺς μαθητὰς αὐτοῦ Ἀνένδεκτόν ἐστιν τοῦ τὰ σκάνδαλα μὴ ἐλθεῖν πλὴν* οὐαὶ δι’ οὗ ἔρχεται
2It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea than for him to cause one of these little ones to stumble.2λυσιτελεῖ αὐτῷ εἰ λίθος μυλικὸς περίκειται περὶ τὸν τράχηλον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔρριπται εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν ἵνα σκανδαλίσῃ τῶν μικρῶν τούτων ἕνα
3Be on your guard. If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him.3Προσέχετε ἑαυτοῖς ἐὰν ἁμάρτῃ ἀδελφός σου ἐπιτίμησον αὐτῷ καὶ ἐὰν μετανοήσῃ ἄφες αὐτῷ
4And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and comes back to you seven times, saying, 'I repent,' you must forgive him."4καὶ ἐὰν ἑπτάκις τῆς ἡμέρας ἁμαρτήσῃ εἰς σὲ καὶ ἑπτάκις ἐπιστρέψῃ πρὸς σὲ λέγων Μετανοῶ ἀφήσεις αὐτῷ
5The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith."5Καὶ εἶπαν οἱ ἀπόστολοι τῷ Κυρίῳ Πρόσθες ἡμῖν πίστιν
6"If you have faith the size of a mustard seed," the Lord said, "you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it will obey you.6Εἶπεν δὲ Κύριος Εἰ ἔχετε πίστιν ὡς κόκκον σινάπεως ἐλέγετε ἂν τῇ συκαμίνῳ ταύτῃ Ἐκριζώθητι καὶ φυτεύθητι ἐν τῇ θαλάσσῃ καὶ ὑπήκουσεν ἂν ὑμῖν
7"Which one of you having a servant tending sheep or plowing will say to him when he comes in from the field, 'Come at once and sit down to eat'?7Τίς δὲ ἐξ ὑμῶν δοῦλον ἔχων ἀροτριῶντα ποιμαίνοντα ὃς εἰσελθόντι ἐκ τοῦ ἀγροῦ ἐρεῖ αὐτῷ Εὐθέως παρελθὼν ἀνάπεσε
8Instead, will he not tell him, 'Prepare something for me to eat, get ready, and serve me while I eat and drink; later you can eat and drink'?8ἀλλ’ οὐχὶ ἐρεῖ αὐτῷ Ἑτοίμασον τί δειπνήσω καὶ περιζωσάμενος διακόνει μοι ἕως φάγω καὶ πίω καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα φάγεσαι καὶ πίεσαι σύ
9Does he thank that servant because he did what was commanded?9μὴ ἔχει χάριν τῷ δούλῳ ὅτι ἐποίησεν τὰ διαταχθέντα
10In the same way, when you have done all that you were commanded, you should say, 'We are worthless servants; we've only done our duty.'"10οὕτως καὶ ὑμεῖς ὅταν ποιήσητε πάντα τὰ διαταχθέντα ὑμῖν λέγετε ὅτι Δοῦλοι ἀχρεῖοί ἐσμεν ὠφείλομεν ποιῆσαι πεποιήκαμεν
11While traveling to Jerusalem, he passed between Samaria and Galilee.11Καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ πορεύεσθαι εἰς Ἰερουσαλὴμ καὶ αὐτὸς διήρχετο διὰ μέσον Σαμαρείας καὶ Γαλιλαίας
12As he entered a village, ten men with leprosy met him. They stood at a distance12καὶ εἰσερχομένου αὐτοῦ εἴς τινα κώμην ἀπήντησαν [αὐτῷ] δέκα λεπροὶ ἄνδρες οἳ ἔστησαν πόρρωθεν
13and raised their voices, saying, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!"13καὶ αὐτοὶ ἦραν φωνὴν λέγοντες Ἰησοῦ Ἐπιστάτα ἐλέησον ἡμᾶς
14When he saw them, he told them, "Go and show yourselves to the priests." And while they were going, they were cleansed.14Καὶ ἰδὼν εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Πορευθέντες ἐπιδείξατε ἑαυτοὺς τοῖς ἱερεῦσιν καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ ὑπάγειν αὐτοὺς ἐκαθαρίσθησαν
15But one of them, seeing that he was healed, returned and, with a loud voice, gave glory to God.15Εἷς δὲ ἐξ αὐτῶν ἰδὼν ὅτι ἰάθη ὑπέστρεψεν μετὰ φωνῆς μεγάλης δοξάζων τὸν Θεόν
16He fell facedown at his feet, thanking him. And he was a Samaritan.16καὶ ἔπεσεν ἐπὶ πρόσωπον παρὰ τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ εὐχαριστῶν αὐτῷ καὶ αὐτὸς ἦν Σαμαρίτης
17Then Jesus said, "Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine?17Ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν Οὐχὶ* οἱ δέκα ἐκαθαρίσθησαν οἱ δὲ ἐννέα ποῦ
18Didn't any return to give glory to God except this foreigner?"18οὐχ εὑρέθησαν ὑποστρέψαντες δοῦναι δόξαν τῷ Θεῷ εἰ μὴ ἀλλογενὴς οὗτος
19And he told him, "Get up and go on your way. Your faith has saved you."19καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Ἀναστὰς πορεύου πίστις σου σέσωκέν σε
20Being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, he answered them, "The kingdom of God is not coming with something observable;20Ἐπερωτηθεὶς δὲ ὑπὸ τῶν Φαρισαίων πότε ἔρχεται βασιλεία τοῦ Θεοῦ ἀπεκρίθη αὐτοῖς καὶ εἶπεν Οὐκ ἔρχεται βασιλεία τοῦ Θεοῦ μετὰ παρατηρήσεως
21no one will say, 'See here!' or 'There!' For you see, the kingdom of God is in your midst."21οὐδὲ ἐροῦσιν Ἰδοὺ ὧδε Ἐκεῖ ἰδοὺ γὰρ βασιλεία τοῦ Θεοῦ ἐντὸς ὑμῶν ἐστιν
22Then he told the disciples: "The days are coming when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you won't see it.22Εἶπεν δὲ πρὸς τοὺς μαθητάς Ἐλεύσονται ἡμέραι ὅτε ἐπιθυμήσετε μίαν τῶν ἡμερῶν τοῦ Υἱοῦ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἰδεῖν καὶ οὐκ ὄψεσθε
23They will say to you, 'See there!' or 'See here!' Don't follow or run after them.23καὶ ἐροῦσιν ὑμῖν Ἰδοὺ ἐκεῖ [ἤ] Ἰδοὺ ὧδε μὴ ἀπέλθητε μηδὲ διώξητε
24For as the lightning flashes from horizon to horizon and lights up the sky, so the Son of Man will be in his day.24ὥσπερ γὰρ ἀστραπὴ ἀστράπτουσα ἐκ τῆς ὑπὸ τὸν οὐρανὸν εἰς τὴν ὑπ’ οὐρανὸν λάμπει οὕτως ἔσται Υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ αὐτοῦ
25But first it is necessary that he suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.25πρῶτον δὲ δεῖ αὐτὸν πολλὰ παθεῖν καὶ ἀποδοκιμασθῆναι ἀπὸ τῆς γενεᾶς ταύτης
26"Just as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be in the days of the Son of Man:26Καὶ καθὼς ἐγένετο ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις Νῶε οὕτως ἔσται καὶ ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις τοῦ Υἱοῦ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου
27People went on eating, drinking, marrying and giving in marriage until the day Noah boarded the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.27ἤσθιον ἔπινον ἐγάμουν ἐγαμίζοντο ἄχρι ἧς ἡμέρας εἰσῆλθεν Νῶε εἰς τὴν κιβωτόν καὶ ἦλθεν κατακλυσμὸς καὶ ἀπώλεσεν πάντας
28It will be the same as it was in the days of Lot: People went on eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, building.28Ὁμοίως καθὼς ἐγένετο ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις Λώτ ἤσθιον ἔπινον ἠγόραζον ἐπώλουν ἐφύτευον ᾠκοδόμουν
29But on the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all.29 δὲ ἡμέρᾳ ἐξῆλθεν Λὼτ ἀπὸ Σοδόμων ἔβρεξεν πῦρ καὶ θεῖον ἀπ’ οὐρανοῦ καὶ ἀπώλεσεν πάντας
30It will be like that on the day the Son of Man is revealed.30Κατὰ τὰ αὐτὰ ἔσται ἡμέρᾳ Υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἀποκαλύπτεται
31On that day, a man on the housetop, whose belongings are in the house, must not come down to get them. Likewise the man who is in the field must not turn back.31ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ὃς ἔσται ἐπὶ τοῦ δώματος καὶ τὰ σκεύη αὐτοῦ ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ μὴ καταβάτω ἆραι αὐτά καὶ ἐν ἀγρῷ ὁμοίως μὴ ἐπιστρεψάτω εἰς τὰ ὀπίσω
32Remember Lot's wife!32μνημονεύετε τῆς γυναικὸς Λώτ
33Whoever tries to make his life secure will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.33ὃς ἐὰν ζητήσῃ τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ περιποιήσασθαι ἀπολέσει αὐτήν ὃς δ’* ἂν ἀπολέσῃ* ζωογονήσει αὐτήν
34I tell you, on that night two will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other will be left.34λέγω ὑμῖν ταύτῃ τῇ νυκτὶ ἔσονται δύο ἐπὶ κλίνης μιᾶς εἷς παραλημφθήσεται καὶ ἕτερος ἀφεθήσεται
35Two women will be grinding grain together; one will be taken and the other left."35ἔσονται δύο ἀλήθουσαι ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτό μία παραλημφθήσεται δὲ ἑτέρα ἀφεθήσεται
3636{δύο ἔσονται ἐν τῷ ἀγρῷ εἷς παραληφθήσεται καὶ ἕτερος ἀφεθήσεται}
37"Where, Lord?" they asked him. He said to them, "Where the corpse is, there also the vultures will be gathered."37Καὶ ἀποκριθέντες λέγουσιν αὐτῷ Ποῦ Κύριε δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Ὅπου τὸ σῶμα ἐκεῖ καὶ οἱ ἀετοὶ ἐπισυναχθήσονται
