New American Standard Bible 1995New International Version
Oh give thanks to the LORD, call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples.1Give praise to the LORD, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done.
Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; Speak of all His wonders.2Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts.
Glory in His holy name; Let the heart of those who seek the LORD be glad.3Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice.
Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face continually.4Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.
Remember His wonders which He has done, His marvels and the judgments uttered by His mouth,5Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced,
O seed of Abraham, His servant, O sons of Jacob, His chosen ones!6you his servants, the descendants of Abraham, his chosen ones, the children of Jacob.
He is the LORD our God; His judgments are in all the earth.7He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth.
He has remembered His covenant forever, The word which He commanded to a thousand generations,8He remembers his covenant forever, the promise he made, for a thousand generations,
The covenant which He made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac.9the covenant he made with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac.
Then He confirmed it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel as an everlasting covenant,10He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an everlasting covenant:
Saying, "To you I will give the land of Canaan As the portion of your inheritance,"11"To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion you will inherit."
When they were only a few men in number, Very few, and strangers in it.12When they were but few in number, few indeed, and strangers in it,
And they wandered about from nation to nation, From one kingdom to another people.13they wandered from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another.
He permitted no man to oppress them, And He reproved kings for their sakes:14He allowed no one to oppress them; for their sake he rebuked kings:
"Do not touch My anointed ones, And do My prophets no harm."15"Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm."
And He called for a famine upon the land; He broke the whole staff of bread.16He called down famine on the land and destroyed all their supplies of food;
He sent a man before them, Joseph, who was sold as a slave.17and he sent a man before them-- Joseph, sold as a slave.
They afflicted his feet with fetters, He himself was laid in irons;18They bruised his feet with shackles, his neck was put in irons,
Until the time that his word came to pass, The word of the LORD tested him.19till what he foretold came to pass, till the word of the LORD proved him true.
The king sent and released him, The ruler of peoples, and set him free.20The king sent and released him, the ruler of peoples set him free.
He made him lord of his house And ruler over all his possessions,21He made him master of his household, ruler over all he possessed,
To imprison his princes at will, That he might teach his elders wisdom.22to instruct his princes as he pleased and teach his elders wisdom.
Israel also came into Egypt; Thus Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.23Then Israel entered Egypt; Jacob resided as a foreigner in the land of Ham.
And He caused His people to be very fruitful, And made them stronger than their adversaries.24The LORD made his people very fruitful; he made them too numerous for their foes,
He turned their heart to hate His people, To deal craftily with His servants.25whose hearts he turned to hate his people, to conspire against his servants.
He sent Moses His servant, And Aaron, whom He had chosen.26He sent Moses his servant, and Aaron, whom he had chosen.
They performed His wondrous acts among them, And miracles in the land of Ham.27They performed his signs among them, his wonders in the land of Ham.
He sent darkness and made it dark; And they did not rebel against His words.28He sent darkness and made the land dark-- for had they not rebelled against his words?
He turned their waters into blood And caused their fish to die.29He turned their waters into blood, causing their fish to die.
Their land swarmed with frogs Even in the chambers of their kings.30Their land teemed with frogs, which went up into the bedrooms of their rulers.
He spoke, and there came a swarm of flies And gnats in all their territory.31He spoke, and there came swarms of flies, and gnats throughout their country.
He gave them hail for rain, And flaming fire in their land.32He turned their rain into hail, with lightning throughout their land;
He struck down their vines also and their fig trees, And shattered the trees of their territory.33he struck down their vines and fig trees and shattered the trees of their country.
He spoke, and locusts came, And young locusts, even without number,34He spoke, and the locusts came, grasshoppers without number;
And ate up all vegetation in their land, And ate up the fruit of their ground.35they ate up every green thing in their land, ate up the produce of their soil.
He also struck down all the firstborn in their land, The first fruits of all their vigor.36Then he struck down all the firstborn in their land, the firstfruits of all their manhood.
Then He brought them out with silver and gold, And among His tribes there was not one who stumbled.37He brought out Israel, laden with silver and gold, and from among their tribes no one faltered.
Egypt was glad when they departed, For the dread of them had fallen upon them.38Egypt was glad when they left, because dread of Israel had fallen on them.
He spread a cloud for a covering, And fire to illumine by night.39He spread out a cloud as a covering, and a fire to give light at night.
They asked, and He brought quail, And satisfied them with the bread of heaven.40They asked, and he brought them quail; he fed them well with the bread of heaven.
He opened the rock and water flowed out; It ran in the dry places like a river.41He opened the rock, and water gushed out; it flowed like a river in the desert.
For He remembered His holy word With Abraham His servant;42For he remembered his holy promise given to his servant Abraham.
And He brought forth His people with joy, His chosen ones with a joyful shout.43He brought out his people with rejoicing, his chosen ones with shouts of joy;
He gave them also the lands of the nations, That they might take possession of the fruit of the peoples' labor,44he gave them the lands of the nations, and they fell heir to what others had toiled for--
So that they might keep His statutes And observe His laws, Praise the LORD!45that they might keep his precepts and observe his laws. Praise the LORD.
