How blessed are those whose actions are blameless, who obey the law of the LORD. 1Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the Law of the LORD.
How blessed are those who observe his rules, and seek him with all their heart, 2Blessed are those who keep His testimonies and seek Him with all their heart.
who, moreover, do no wrong, but follow in his footsteps. 3They do no iniquity; they walk in His ways.
You demand that your precepts be carefully kept. 4You have ordained Your precepts, that we should keep them diligently.
If only I were predisposed to keep your statutes! 5Oh, that my ways were committed to keeping Your statutes!
Then I would not be ashamed, if I were focused on all your commands. 6Then I would not be ashamed when I consider all Your commandments.
I will give you sincere thanks, when I learn your just regulations. 7I will praise You with an upright heart when I learn Your righteous judgments.
I will keep your statutes. Do not completely abandon me! 8I will keep Your statutes; do not utterly forsake me.
How can a young person maintain a pure life? By guarding it according to your instructions! 9How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to Your word.
With all my heart I seek you. Do not allow me to stray from your commands! 10With all my heart I have sought You; do not let me stray from Your commandments.
In my heart I store up your words, so I might not sin against you. 11I have hidden Your word in my heart that I might not sin against You.
You deserve praise, O LORD! Teach me your statutes! 12Blessed are You, O LORD; teach me Your statutes.
With my lips I proclaim all the regulations you have revealed. 13With my lips I proclaim all the judgments of Your mouth.
I rejoice in the lifestyle prescribed by your rules as if they were riches of all kinds. 14I rejoice in the way of Your testimonies as much as in all riches.
I will meditate on your precepts and focus on your behavior. 15I will meditate on Your precepts and regard Your ways.
I find delight in your statutes; I do not forget your instructions. 16I will delight in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.
Be kind to your servant! Then I will live and keep your instructions. 17Deal bountifully with Your servant, that I may live and keep Your word.
Open my eyes so I can truly see the marvelous things in your law! 18Open my eyes that I may see wondrous things from Your law.
I am like a foreigner in this land. Do not hide your commands from me! 19I am a stranger on the earth; do not hide Your commandments from me.
I desperately long to know your regulations at all times. 20My soul is consumed with longing for Your judgments at all times.
You reprimand arrogant people. Those who stray from your commands are doomed. 21You rebuke the arrogant—the cursed who stray from Your commandments.
Spare me shame and humiliation, for I observe your rules. 22Remove my scorn and contempt, for I have kept Your testimonies.
Though rulers plot and slander me, your servant meditates on your statutes. 23Though rulers sit and slander me, Your servant meditates on Your statutes.
Yes, I find delight in your rules; they give me guidance. 24Your testimonies are indeed my delight; they are my counselors.
I collapse in the dirt. Revive me with your word! 25My soul cleaves to the dust; revive me according to Your word.
I told you about my ways and you answered me. Teach me your statutes! 26I recounted my ways, and You answered me; teach me Your statutes.
Help me to understand what your precepts mean! Then I can meditate on your marvelous teachings. 27Make clear to me the way of Your precepts; then I will meditate on Your wonders.
I collapse from grief. Sustain me by your word! 28My soul melts with sorrow; strengthen me according to Your word.
Remove me from the path of deceit! Graciously give me your law! 29Remove me from the path of deceit and graciously grant me Your law.
I choose the path of faithfulness; I am committed to your regulations. 30I have chosen the way of truth; I have set Your ordinances before me.
I hold fast to your rules. O LORD, do not let me be ashamed! 31I cling to Your testimonies, O LORD; let me not be put to shame.
I run along the path of your commands, for you enable me to do so. 32I run in the path of Your commandments, for You will enlarge my heart.
Teach me, O LORD, the lifestyle prescribed by your statutes, so that I might observe it continually. 33Teach me, O LORD, the way of Your statutes, and I will keep them to the end.
Give me understanding so that I might observe your law, and keep it with all my heart. 34Give me understanding that I may obey Your law, and follow it with all my heart.
Guide me in the path of your commands, for I delight to walk in it. 35Direct me in the path of Your commandments, for there I find delight.
Give me a desire for your rules, rather than for wealth gained unjustly. 36Turn my heart to Your testimonies and not to covetous gain.
Turn my eyes away from what is worthless! Revive me with your word! 37Turn my eyes away from worthless things; revive me with Your word.
Confirm to your servant your promise, which you made to the one who honors you. 38Establish Your word to Your servant, to produce reverence for You.
Take away the insults that I dread! Indeed, your regulations are good. 39Turn away the disgrace I dread, for Your judgments are good.
Look, I long for your precepts. Revive me with your deliverance! 40How I long for Your precepts! Revive me in Your righteousness.
May I experience your loyal love, O LORD, and your deliverance, as you promised. 41May Your loving devotion come to me, O LORD, Your salvation, according to Your promise.
Then I will have a reply for the one who insults me, for I trust in your word. 42Then I can answer him who taunts, for I trust in Your word.
Do not completely deprive me of a truthful testimony, for I await your justice. 43Never take Your word of truth from my mouth, for I hope in Your judgments.
Then I will keep your law continually now and for all time. 44I will always obey Your law, forever and ever.
I will be secure, for I seek your precepts. 45And I will walk in freedom, for I have sought Your precepts.
I will speak about your regulations before kings and not be ashamed. 46I will speak of Your testimonies before kings, and I will not be ashamed.
I will find delight in your commands, which I love. 47I delight in Your commandments because I love them.
I will lift my hands to your commands, which I love, and I will meditate on your statutes. 48I lift up my hands to Your commandments, which I love, and I meditate on Your statutes.
Remember your word to your servant, for you have given me hope. 49Remember Your word to Your servant, upon which You have given me hope.
This is what comforts me in my trouble, for your promise revives me. 50This is my comfort in affliction, that Your promise has given me life.
Arrogant people do nothing but scoff at me. Yet I do not turn aside from your law. 51The arrogant utterly deride me, but I do not turn from Your law.
I remember your ancient regulations, O LORD, and console myself. 52I remember Your judgments of old, O LORD, and in them I find comfort.
Rage takes hold of me because of the wicked, those who reject your law. 53Rage has taken hold of me because of the wicked who reject Your law.
Your statutes have been my songs in the house where I live. 54Your statutes are songs to me in the house of my pilgrimage.
I remember your name during the night, O LORD, and I will keep your law. 55In the night, O LORD, I remember Your name, that I may keep Your law.
This has been my practice, for I observe your precepts. 56This is my practice, for I obey Your precepts.
The LORD is my source of security. I have determined to follow your instructions. 57The LORD is my portion; I have promised to keep Your words.
I seek your favor with all my heart. Have mercy on me as you promised! 58I have sought Your face with all my heart; be gracious to me according to Your promise.
I consider my actions and follow your rules. 59I considered my ways and turned my steps to Your testimonies.
I keep your commands eagerly and without delay. 60I hurried without hesitating to keep Your commandments.
The ropes of the wicked tighten around me, but I do not forget your law. 61Though the ropes of the wicked bind me, I do not forget Your law.
In the middle of the night I arise to thank you for your just regulations. 62At midnight I rise to give You thanks for Your righteous judgments.
I am a friend to all your loyal followers, and to those who keep your precepts. 63I am a friend to all who fear You, and to those who keep Your precepts.
O LORD, your loyal love fills the earth. Teach me your statutes! 64The earth is filled with Your loving devotion, O LORD; teach me Your statutes.
You are good to your servant, O LORD, just as you promised. 65You are good to Your servant, O LORD, according to Your word.
Teach me proper discernment and understanding! For I consider your commands to be reliable. 66Teach me good judgment and knowledge, for I believe in Your commandments.
Before I was afflicted I used to stray off, but now I keep your instructions. 67Before I was afflicted, I went astray; but now I keep Your word.
You are good and you do good. Teach me your statutes! 68You are good, and You do what is good; teach me Your statutes.
Arrogant people smear my reputation with lies, but I observe your precepts with all my heart. 69Though the arrogant have smeared me with lies, I keep Your precepts with all my heart.
Their hearts are calloused, but I find delight in your law. 70Their hearts are hard and callous, but I delight in Your law.
It was good for me to suffer, so that I might learn your statutes. 71It was good for me to be afflicted, that I might learn Your statutes.
The law you have revealed is more important to me than thousands of pieces of gold and silver. 72The law from Your mouth is more precious to me than thousands of pieces of gold and silver.
Your hands made me and formed me. Give me understanding so that I might learn your commands. 73Your hands have made me and fashioned me; give me understanding to learn Your commandments.
Your loyal followers will be glad when they see me, for I find hope in your word. 74May those who fear You see me and rejoice, for I have hoped in Your word.
I know, LORD, that your regulations are just. You disciplined me because of your faithful devotion to me. 75I know, O LORD, that Your judgments are righteous, and that in faithfulness You have afflicted me.
May your loyal love console me, as you promised your servant. 76May Your loving devotion comfort me, I pray, according to Your promise to Your servant.
May I experience your compassion, so I might live! For I find delight in your law. 77May Your compassion come to me, that I may live, for Your law is my delight.
May the arrogant be humiliated, for they have slandered me! But I meditate on your precepts. 78May the arrogant be put to shame for subverting me with a lie; I will meditate on Your precepts.
May your loyal followers turn to me, those who know your rules. 79May those who fear You turn to me, those who know Your testimonies.
May I be fully committed to your statutes, so that I might not be ashamed. 80May my heart be blameless in Your statutes, that I may not be put to shame.
I desperately long for your deliverance. I find hope in your word. 81My soul faints for Your salvation; I wait for Your word.
My eyes grow tired as I wait for your promise to be fulfilled. I say, "When will you comfort me?" 82My eyes fail, looking for Your promise; I ask, “When will You comfort me?”
For I am like a wineskin dried up in smoke. I do not forget your statutes. 83Though I am like a wineskin dried up by smoke, I do not forget Your statutes.
How long must your servant endure this? When will you judge those who pursue me? 84How many days must Your servant wait? When will You execute judgment on my persecutors?
The arrogant dig pits to trap me, which violates your law. 85The arrogant have dug pits for me in violation of Your law.
All your commands are reliable. I am pursued without reason. Help me! 86All Your commandments are faithful; I am persecuted without cause—help me!
They have almost destroyed me here on the earth, but I do not reject your precepts. 87They almost wiped me from the earth, but I have not forsaken Your precepts.
Revive me with your loyal love, that I might keep the rules you have revealed. 88Revive me according to Your loving devotion, that I may obey the testimony of Your mouth.
O LORD, your instructions endure; they stand secure in heaven. 89Your word, O LORD, is everlasting; it is firmly fixed in the heavens.
You demonstrate your faithfulness to all generations. You established the earth and it stood firm. 90Your faithfulness continues through all generations; You established the earth, and it endures.
Today they stand firm by your decrees, for all things are your servants. 91Your ordinances stand to this day, for all things are servants to You.
If I had not found encouragement in your law, I would have died in my sorrow. 92If Your law had not been my delight, then I would have perished in my affliction.
I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have revived me. 93I will never forget Your precepts, for by them You have revived me.
I belong to you. Deliver me! For I seek your precepts. 94I am Yours; save me, for I have sought Your precepts.
The wicked prepare to kill me, yet I concentrate on your rules. 95The wicked wait to destroy me, but I will ponder Your testimonies.
I realize that everything has its limits, but your commands are beyond full comprehension. 96I have seen a limit to all perfection, but Your commandment is without limit.
O how I love your law! All day long I meditate on it. 97Oh, how I love Your law! All day long it is my meditation.
Your commandments make me wiser than my enemies, for I am always aware of them. 98Your commandments make me wiser than my enemies, for they are always with me.
I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on your rules. 99I have more insight than all my teachers, for Your testimonies are my meditation.
I am more discerning than those older than I, for I observe your precepts. 100I discern more than the elders, for I obey Your precepts.
I stay away from the evil path, so that I might keep your instructions. 101I have kept my feet from every evil path, that I may keep Your word.
I do not turn aside from your regulations, for you teach me. 102I have not departed from Your ordinances, for You Yourself have taught me.
Your words are sweeter in my mouth than honey! 103How sweet are Your words to my taste—sweeter than honey in my mouth!
Your precepts give me discernment. Therefore I hate all deceitful actions. 104I gain understanding from Your precepts; therefore I hate every false way.
Your word is a lamp to walk by, and a light to illumine my path. 105Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
I have vowed and solemnly sworn to keep your just regulations. 106I have sworn and confirmed that I will keep Your righteous judgments.
I am suffering terribly. O LORD, revive me with your word! 107I am severely afflicted, O LORD; revive me through Your word.
O LORD, please accept the freewill offerings of my praise! Teach me your regulations! 108Accept the freewill offerings of my mouth, O LORD, and teach me Your judgments.
My life is in continual danger, but I do not forget your law. 109I constantly take my life in my hands, yet I do not forget Your law.
The wicked lay a trap for me, but I do not wander from your precepts. 110The wicked have set a snare for me, but I have not strayed from Your precepts.
I claim your rules as my permanent possession, for they give me joy. 111Your testimonies are my heritage forever, for they are the joy of my heart.
I am determined to obey your statutes at all times, to the very end. 112I have inclined my heart to perform Your statutes, even to the very end.
I hate people with divided loyalties, but I love your law. 113The double-minded I despise, but Your law I love.
You are my hiding place and my shield. I find hope in your word. 114You are my hiding place and my shield; I put my hope in Your word.
Turn away from me, you evil men, so that I can observe the commands of my God. 115Depart from me, you evildoers, that I may obey the commandments of my God.
Sustain me as you promised, so that I will live. Do not disappoint me! 116Sustain me as You promised, that I may live; let me not be ashamed of my hope.
Support me, so that I will be delivered. Then I will focus on your statutes continually. 117Uphold me, and I will be saved, that I may always regard Your statutes.
You despise all who stray from your statutes, for they are deceptive and unreliable. 118You reject all who stray from Your statutes, for their deceitfulness is in vain.
You remove all the wicked of the earth like slag. Therefore I love your rules. 119All the wicked on earth You discard like dross; therefore I love Your testimonies.
My body trembles because I fear you; I am afraid of your judgments. 120My flesh trembles in awe of You; I stand in fear of Your judgments.
I do what is fair and right. Do not abandon me to my oppressors! 121I have done what is just and right; do not leave me to my oppressors.
Guarantee the welfare of your servant! Do not let the arrogant oppress me! 122Ensure Your servant’s well-being; do not let the arrogant oppress me.
My eyes grow tired as I wait for your deliverance, for your reliable promise to be fulfilled. 123My eyes fail, looking for Your salvation, and for Your righteous promise.
Show your servant your loyal love! Teach me your statutes! 124Deal with Your servant according to Your loving devotion, and teach me Your statutes.
I am your servant. Give me insight, so that I can understand your rules. 125I am Your servant; give me understanding, that I may know Your testimonies.
It is time for the LORD to act--they break your law! 126It is time for the LORD to act, for they have broken Your law.
For this reason I love your commands more than gold, even purest gold. 127Therefore I love Your commandments more than gold, even the purest gold.
For this reason I carefully follow all your precepts. I hate all deceitful actions. 128Therefore I admire all Your precepts and hate every false way.
Your rules are marvelous. Therefore I observe them. 129Wonderful are Your testimonies; therefore I obey them.
Your instructions are a doorway through which light shines. They give insight to the untrained. 130The unfolding of Your words gives light; it informs the simple.
I open my mouth and pant, because I long for your commands. 131I open my mouth and pant, longing for Your commandments.
Turn toward me and extend mercy to me, as you typically do to your loyal followers. 132Turn to me and show me mercy, as You do to those who love Your name.
Direct my steps by your word! Do not let any sin dominate me! 133Order my steps in Your word; let no sin rule over me.
Deliver me from oppressive men, so that I can keep your precepts. 134Redeem me from the oppression of man, that I may keep Your precepts.
Smile on your servant! Teach me your statutes! 135Make Your face shine upon Your servant, and teach me Your statutes.
Tears stream down from my eyes, because people do not keep your law. 136My eyes shed streams of tears because Your law is not obeyed.
You are just, O LORD, and your judgments are fair. 137Righteous are You, O LORD, and upright are Your judgments.
The rules you impose are just, and absolutely reliable. 138The testimonies You have laid down are righteous and altogether faithful.
My zeal consumes me, for my enemies forget your instructions. 139My zeal has consumed me because my foes forget Your words.
Your word is absolutely pure, and your servant loves it! 140Your promise is completely pure; therefore Your servant loves it.
I am insignificant and despised, yet I do not forget your precepts. 141I am lowly and despised, but I do not forget Your precepts.
Your justice endures, and your law is reliable. 142Your righteousness is everlasting and Your law is true.
Distress and hardship confront me, yet I find delight in your commands. 143Trouble and distress have found me, but Your commandments are my delight.
Your rules remain just. Give me insight so that I can live. 144Your testimonies are righteous forever. Give me understanding, that I may live.
I cried out with all my heart, "Answer me, O LORD! I will observe your statutes." 145I call with all my heart; answer me, O LORD! I will obey Your statutes.
I cried out to you, "Deliver me, so that I can keep your rules." 146I call to You; save me, that I may keep Your testimonies.
I am up before dawn crying for help. I find hope in your word. 147I rise before dawn and cry for help; in Your word I have put my hope.
My eyes anticipate the nighttime hours, so that I can meditate on your word. 148My eyes anticipate the watches of night, that I may meditate on Your word.
Listen to me because of your loyal love! O LORD, revive me, as you typically do! 149Hear my voice, O LORD, according to Your loving devotion; give me life according to Your justice.
Those who are eager to do wrong draw near; they are far from your law. 150Those who follow after wickedness draw near; they are far from Your law.
You are near, O LORD, and all your commands are reliable. 151You are near, O LORD, and all Your commandments are true.
I learned long ago that you ordained your rules to last. 152Long ago I learned from Your testimonies that You have established them forever.
See my pain and rescue me! For I do not forget your law. 153Look upon my affliction and rescue me, for I have not forgotten Your law.
Fight for me and defend me! Revive me with your word! 154Defend my cause and redeem me; revive me according to Your word.
The wicked have no chance for deliverance, for they do not seek your statutes. 155Salvation is far from the wicked because they do not seek Your statutes.
Your compassion is great, O LORD. Revive me, as you typically do! 156Great are Your mercies, O LORD; revive me according to Your ordinances.
The enemies who chase me are numerous. Yet I do not turn aside from your rules. 157Though my persecutors and foes are many, I have not turned from Your testimonies.
I take note of the treacherous and despise them, because they do not keep your instructions. 158I look on the faithless with loathing because they do not keep Your word.
See how I love your precepts! O LORD, revive me with your loyal love! 159Consider how I love Your precepts, O LORD; give me life according to Your loving devotion.
Your instructions are totally reliable; all your just regulations endure. 160The entirety of Your word is truth, and all Your righteous judgments endure forever.
Rulers pursue me for no reason, yet I am more afraid of disobeying your instructions. 161Rulers persecute me without cause, but my heart fears only Your word.
I rejoice in your instructions, like one who finds much plunder. 162I rejoice in Your promise like one who finds great spoil.
I hate and despise deceit; I love your law. 163I hate and abhor falsehood, but Your law I love.
Seven times a day I praise you because of your just regulations. 164Seven times a day I praise You for Your righteous judgments.
Those who love your law are completely secure; nothing causes them to stumble. 165Abundant peace belongs to those who love Your instruction; nothing can make them stumble.
I hope for your deliverance, O LORD, and I obey your commands. 166I wait for Your salvation, O LORD, and I carry out Your commandments.
I keep your rules; I love them greatly. 167I obey Your testimonies and love them greatly.
I keep your precepts and rules, for you are aware of everything I do. 168I obey Your precepts and Your testimonies, for all my ways are before You.
Listen to my cry for help, O LORD! Give me insight by your word! 169May my cry come before You, O LORD; give me understanding according to Your word.
Listen to my appeal for mercy! Deliver me, as you promised. 170May my plea come before You; rescue me according to Your promise.
May praise flow freely from my lips, for you teach me your statutes. 171My lips pour forth praise, for You teach me Your statutes.
May my tongue sing about your instructions, for all your commands are just. 172My tongue sings of Your word, for all Your commandments are righteous.
May your hand help me, for I choose to obey your precepts. 173May Your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen Your precepts.
I long for your deliverance, O LORD; I find delight in your law. 174I long for Your salvation, O LORD, and Your law is my delight.
May I live and praise you! May your regulations help me! 175Let me live to praise You; may Your judgments sustain me.
I have wandered off like a lost sheep. Come looking for your servant, for I do not forget your commands. 176I have strayed like a lost sheep; seek Your servant, for I have not forgotten Your commandments.
