NET Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleInternational Standard Version
How blessed are those whose actions are blameless, who obey the law of the LORD. 1 How blessed are those whose life is blameless, who walk in the Law of the LORD!
How blessed are those who observe his rules, and seek him with all their heart, 2How blessed are those who observe his decrees, who seek him with all of their heart,
who, moreover, do no wrong, but follow in his footsteps. 3who practice no evil while they walk in his ways.
You demand that your precepts be carefully kept. 4You have commanded concerning your precepts, that they be guarded with diligence.
If only I were predisposed to keep your statutes! 5Oh, that my ways were steadfast, so I may keep your statutes.
Then I would not be ashamed, if I were focused on all your commands. 6Then I will not be ashamed, since my eyes will be fixed on all of your commands.
I will give you sincere thanks, when I learn your just regulations. 7I will praise you with an upright heart, as I learn your righteous decrees.
I will keep your statutes. Do not completely abandon me! 8I will keep your statutes; do not ever abandon me.
How can a young person maintain a pure life? By guarding it according to your instructions! 9How can a young man keep his behavior pure? By guarding it in accordance with your word.
With all my heart I seek you. Do not allow me to stray from your commands! 10I have sought you with all of my heart; do not let me drift away from your commands.
In my heart I store up your words, so I might not sin against you. 11I have stored what you have said in my heart, so I won't sin against you.
You deserve praise, O LORD! Teach me your statutes! 12Blessed are you, LORD! Teach me your statutes.
With my lips I proclaim all the regulations you have revealed. 13I have spoken with my lips about all your decrees that you have announced.
I rejoice in the lifestyle prescribed by your rules as if they were riches of all kinds. 14I find joy in the path of your decrees, as if I owned all kinds of riches.
I will meditate on your precepts and focus on your behavior. 15I will meditate on your precepts, and I will respect your ways.
I find delight in your statutes; I do not forget your instructions. 16I am delighted with your statutes; I will not forget your word.
Be kind to your servant! Then I will live and keep your instructions. 17Deal kindly with your servant so I may live and keep your word.
Open my eyes so I can truly see the marvelous things in your law! 18Open my eyes so that I will observe amazing things from your instruction.
I am like a foreigner in this land. Do not hide your commands from me! 19Since I am a stranger on the earth, do not hide your commands from me.
I desperately long to know your regulations at all times. 20My soul is consumed with longing for your decrees at all times.
You reprimand arrogant people. Those who stray from your commands are doomed. 21You rebuke the accursed ones, who wander from your commands.
Spare me shame and humiliation, for I observe your rules. 22Remove scorn and disrespect from me, for I observe your decrees.
Though rulers plot and slander me, your servant meditates on your statutes. 23Though nobles take their seat and gossip about me, your servant will meditate on your statutes.
Yes, I find delight in your rules; they give me guidance. 24I take joy in your decrees, for they are my counselors.
I collapse in the dirt. Revive me with your word! 25My soul clings to the dust; revive me according to your word.
I told you about my ways and you answered me. Teach me your statutes! 26I have talked about my ways, and you have answered me; Teach me your statutes.
Help me to understand what your precepts mean! Then I can meditate on your marvelous teachings. 27Help me understand how your precepts function, and I will meditate on your wondrous acts.
I collapse from grief. Sustain me by your word! 28I weep because of sorrow; fortify me according to your word.
Remove me from the path of deceit! Graciously give me your law! 29Remove false paths from me; and graciously give me your instruction.
I choose the path of faithfulness; I am committed to your regulations. 30I have chosen the faithful way; I have firmly placed your ordinances before me.
I hold fast to your rules. O LORD, do not let me be ashamed! 31I cling to your decrees; LORD, do not put me to shame.
I run along the path of your commands, for you enable me to do so. 32I eagerly race along the way of your commands, for you enable me to do so.
Teach me, O LORD, the lifestyle prescribed by your statutes, so that I might observe it continually. 33Teach me, LORD, about the way of your statutes, and I will observe them without fail.
Give me understanding so that I might observe your law, and keep it with all my heart. 34Give me understanding and I will observe your instruction. I will keep it with all of my heart.
Guide me in the path of your commands, for I delight to walk in it. 35Help me live my life by your commands, because my joy is in them.
Give me a desire for your rules, rather than for wealth gained unjustly. 36Turn my heart to your decrees and away from unjust gain.
Turn my eyes away from what is worthless! Revive me with your word! 37Turn my eyes away from gazing at worthless things, and revive me by your ways.
Confirm to your servant your promise, which you made to the one who honors you. 38Confirm your promise to your servant, which is for those who fear you.
Take away the insults that I dread! Indeed, your regulations are good. 39Turn away the shame that I dread, because your ordinances are good.
Look, I long for your precepts. Revive me with your deliverance! 40Look, I long for your precepts; revive me through your righteousness.
May I experience your loyal love, O LORD, and your deliverance, as you promised. 41May your gracious love come to me, LORD, your salvation, just as you said.
Then I will have a reply for the one who insults me, for I trust in your word. 42Then I can answer the one who insults me, for I place my trust in your word.
Do not completely deprive me of a truthful testimony, for I await your justice. 43Never take your truthful words from me, For I wait for your ordinances.
Then I will keep your law continually now and for all time. 44Then I will always keep your Law, forever and ever,
I will be secure, for I seek your precepts. 45I will walk in liberty, for I seek your precepts.
I will speak about your regulations before kings and not be ashamed. 46Then I will speak of your decrees before kings and not be ashamed.
I will find delight in your commands, which I love. 47I will take delight in your commands, which I love.
I will lift my hands to your commands, which I love, and I will meditate on your statutes. 48I will lift up my hands to your commands, which I love, and I will meditate on your statutes.
Remember your word to your servant, for you have given me hope. 49Remember what you said to your servant, by which you caused me to hope.
This is what comforts me in my trouble, for your promise revives me. 50This is what comforts me in my troubles: that what you say revives me.
Arrogant people do nothing but scoff at me. Yet I do not turn aside from your law. 51Even though the arrogant utterly deride me, I do not turn away from your instruction.
I remember your ancient regulations, O LORD, and console myself. 52I have remembered your ancient ordinances, LORD, and I take comfort in them.
Rage takes hold of me because of the wicked, those who reject your law. 53I burn with indignation because of the wicked who forsake your instruction.
Your statutes have been my songs in the house where I live. 54Your statutes are my songs, no matter where I make my home.
I remember your name during the night, O LORD, and I will keep your law. 55In the night I remember your name, LORD, and keep your instruction.
This has been my practice, for I observe your precepts. 56I have made it my personal responsibility to keep your precepts.
The LORD is my source of security. I have determined to follow your instructions. 57The LORD is my inheritance; I have given my promise to keep your word.
I seek your favor with all my heart. Have mercy on me as you promised! 58I have sought your favor with all of my heart; be gracious to me according to your promise.
I consider my actions and follow your rules. 59I examined my lifestyle and set my feet in the direction of your decrees.
I keep your commands eagerly and without delay. 60I hurried and did not procrastinate to keep your commands.
The ropes of the wicked tighten around me, but I do not forget your law. 61Though the ropes of the wicked have ensnared me, I have not forgotten your instruction.
In the middle of the night I arise to thank you for your just regulations. 62At midnight I will get up to thank you for your righteous ordinances.
I am a friend to all your loyal followers, and to those who keep your precepts. 63I am united with all who fear you, and with everyone who keeps your precepts.
O LORD, your loyal love fills the earth. Teach me your statutes! 64LORD, the earth overflows with your gracious love! Teach me your statutes.
You are good to your servant, O LORD, just as you promised. 65LORD, you have dealt well with your servant, according to your word.
Teach me proper discernment and understanding! For I consider your commands to be reliable. 66Teach me both knowledge and appropriate discretion, because I believe in your commands.
Before I was afflicted I used to stray off, but now I keep your instructions. 67Before I was humbled, I wandered away, but now I observe your words.
You are good and you do good. Teach me your statutes! 68LORD, you are good , and do what is good; teach me your statutes.
Arrogant people smear my reputation with lies, but I observe your precepts with all my heart. 69The arrogant have accused me falsely; but I will observe your precepts wholeheartedly.
Their hearts are calloused, but I find delight in your law. 70Their minds are clogged as with greasy fat, but I find joy in your instruction.
It was good for me to suffer, so that I might learn your statutes. 71It was for my good that I was humbled; so that I would learn your statutes.
The law you have revealed is more important to me than thousands of pieces of gold and silver. 72Instruction that comes from you is better for me than thousands of gold and silver coins.
Your hands made me and formed me. Give me understanding so that I might learn your commands. 73Your hands made and formed me; give me understanding, that I may learn your commands.
Your loyal followers will be glad when they see me, for I find hope in your word. 74May those who fear you see me and be glad, for I have hoped in your word.
I know, LORD, that your regulations are just. You disciplined me because of your faithful devotion to me. 75I know, LORD, that your decrees are just, and that you have rightfully humbled me.
May your loyal love console me, as you promised your servant. 76May your gracious love comfort me in accordance with your promise to your servant.
May I experience your compassion, so I might live! For I find delight in your law. 77May your mercies come to me that I may live, for your instruction is my delight.
May the arrogant be humiliated, for they have slandered me! But I meditate on your precepts. 78May the arrogant become ashamed, because they have subverted me with deceit; as for me, I will meditate on your precepts.
May your loyal followers turn to me, those who know your rules. 79May those who fear you turn to me, along with those who know your decrees.
May I be fully committed to your statutes, so that I might not be ashamed. 80May my heart be blameless with respect to your statutes so that I may not become ashamed.
I desperately long for your deliverance. I find hope in your word. 81I long for your deliverance; I have looked to your word, placing my hope in it.
My eyes grow tired as I wait for your promise to be fulfilled. I say, "When will you comfort me?" 82My eyes grow weary with respect to what you have promised— I keep asking, "When will you comfort me?"
For I am like a wineskin dried up in smoke. I do not forget your statutes. 83Though I have become like a water skin dried by smoke, I have not forgotten your statutes.
How long must your servant endure this? When will you judge those who pursue me? 84How many days must your servant endure this? When will you judge those who persecute me?
The arrogant dig pits to trap me, which violates your law. 85The arrogant have dug pitfalls for me disobeying your instruction.
All your commands are reliable. I am pursued without reason. Help me! 86All of your commands are reliable. I am persecuted without cause—help me!
They have almost destroyed me here on the earth, but I do not reject your precepts. 87Though the arrogant nearly destroyed me on earth, I did not abandon your precepts.
Revive me with your loyal love, that I might keep the rules you have revealed. 88Revive me according to your gracious love; and I will keep the decrees that you have proclaimed.
O LORD, your instructions endure; they stand secure in heaven. 89Your word is forever, LORD; it is firmly established in heaven.
You demonstrate your faithfulness to all generations. You established the earth and it stood firm. 90Your faithfulness continues from generation to generation. You established the earth, and it stands firm.
Today they stand firm by your decrees, for all things are your servants. 91To this day they stand by means of your rulings, for all things serve you.
If I had not found encouragement in your law, I would have died in my sorrow. 92Had your instruction not been my pleasure, I would have died in my affliction.
I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have revived me. 93I will never forget your precepts, for you have revived me with them.
I belong to you. Deliver me! For I seek your precepts. 94I am yours, so save me, since I have sought your precepts.
The wicked prepare to kill me, yet I concentrate on your rules. 95The wicked lay in wait to destroy me, while I ponder your decrees.
I realize that everything has its limits, but your commands are beyond full comprehension. 96I have observed that all things have their limit, but your commandment is very broad.
O how I love your law! All day long I meditate on it. 97How I love your instruction! Every day it is my meditation.
Your commandments make me wiser than my enemies, for I am always aware of them. 98Your commands make me wiser than my adversaries, since they are always with me.
I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on your rules. 99I am more insightful than my teachers, because your decrees are my meditations.
I am more discerning than those older than I, for I observe your precepts. 100I have more common sense than the elders, for I observe your precepts.
I stay away from the evil path, so that I might keep your instructions. 101I keep away from every evil choice so that I may keep your word.
I do not turn aside from your regulations, for you teach me. 102I do not avoid your judgments, for you pointed them out to me.
Your words are sweeter in my mouth than honey! 103How pleasing is what you have to say to me— tasting better than honey.
Your precepts give me discernment. Therefore I hate all deceitful actions. 104I obtain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every false way.
Your word is a lamp to walk by, and a light to illumine my path. 105Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light for my pathway.
I have vowed and solemnly sworn to keep your just regulations. 106I have given my word and affirmed it, to keep your righteous judgments.
I am suffering terribly. O LORD, revive me with your word! 107I am severely afflicted. Revive me, LORD, according to your word.
O LORD, please accept the freewill offerings of my praise! Teach me your regulations! 108LORD, please accept my voluntary offerings of praise, and teach me your judgments.
My life is in continual danger, but I do not forget your law. 109Though I constantly take my life in my hands, I do not forget your instruction.
The wicked lay a trap for me, but I do not wander from your precepts. 110Though the wicked lay a trap for me, I haven't wandered away from your precepts.
I claim your rules as my permanent possession, for they give me joy. 111I have inherited your decrees forever, because they are the joy of my heart.
I am determined to obey your statutes at all times, to the very end. 112As a result, I am determined to carry out your statutes forever.
I hate people with divided loyalties, but I love your law. 113I despise the double-minded, but I love your instruction.
You are my hiding place and my shield. I find hope in your word. 114You are my fortress and shield; I hope in your word.
Turn away from me, you evil men, so that I can observe the commands of my God. 115Leave me, you who practice evil, that I may observe the commands of my God.
Sustain me as you promised, so that I will live. Do not disappoint me! 116Sustain me, God, as you have promised, and I will live. Do not let me be ashamed of my hope.
Support me, so that I will be delivered. Then I will focus on your statutes continually. 117Support me, that I may be saved, and I will carry out your statutes consistently.
You despise all who stray from your statutes, for they are deceptive and unreliable. 118You reject all who wander from your statutes, since their deceitfulness is vain.
You remove all the wicked of the earth like slag. Therefore I love your rules. 119You remove all the wicked of the earth like dross; therefore I love your decrees.
My body trembles because I fear you; I am afraid of your judgments. 120My flesh trembles out of fear of you, and I am in awe of your judgments.
I do what is fair and right. Do not abandon me to my oppressors! 121I have acted with justice and righteousness; do not abandon me to my oppressors.
Guarantee the welfare of your servant! Do not let the arrogant oppress me! 122Back up your servant in a positive way; do not let the arrogant oppress me.
My eyes grow tired as I wait for your deliverance, for your reliable promise to be fulfilled. 123My eyes fail as I look for your salvation and for your righteous promise.
Show your servant your loyal love! Teach me your statutes! 124Act toward your servant consistent with your gracious love, and teach me your statutes.
I am your servant. Give me insight, so that I can understand your rules. 125Since I am your servant, give me understanding, so I will know your decrees.
It is time for the LORD to act--they break your law! 126It is time for the LORD to act, since they have violated your instruction.
For this reason I love your commands more than gold, even purest gold. 127I truly love your commands more than gold, including fine gold.
For this reason I carefully follow all your precepts. I hate all deceitful actions. 128I truly consider all of your precepts—all of them—to be just, while I despise every false way.
Your rules are marvelous. Therefore I observe them. 129Your decrees are wonderful— that's why I observe them.
Your instructions are a doorway through which light shines. They give insight to the untrained. 130The disclosure of your words illuminates, providing understanding to the simple.
I open my mouth and pant, because I long for your commands. 131I open my mouth and pant as I long for your commands.
Turn toward me and extend mercy to me, as you typically do to your loyal followers. 132Turn in my direction and show mercy to me, as you have decreed regarding those who love your name.
Direct my steps by your word! Do not let any sin dominate me! 133Direct my footsteps by your promise, and do not let any kind of iniquity rule over me.
Deliver me from oppressive men, so that I can keep your precepts. 134Deliver me from human oppression and I will keep your precepts.
Smile on your servant! Teach me your statutes! 135Show favor to your servant, and teach me your statutes.
Tears stream down from my eyes, because people do not keep your law. 136My eyes shed rivers of tears, when others do not obey your instruction.
You are just, O LORD, and your judgments are fair. 137LORD, you are righteous, and your judgments are right.
The rules you impose are just, and absolutely reliable. 138You have ordered your decrees to us rightly, and they are very faithful.
My zeal consumes me, for my enemies forget your instructions. 139My zeal consumes me because my enemies forget your words.
Your word is absolutely pure, and your servant loves it! 140Your word is very pure, and your servant loves it.
I am insignificant and despised, yet I do not forget your precepts. 141Though I may be small and despised, I do not neglect your precepts.
Your justice endures, and your law is reliable. 142Your righteousness is an eternal righteousness, and your instruction is true.
Distress and hardship confront me, yet I find delight in your commands. 143Though trouble and anguish overwhelm me, your commands remain my delight.
Your rules remain just. Give me insight so that I can live. 144Your righteous decrees are eternal; give me understanding, and I will live.
I cried out with all my heart, "Answer me, O LORD! I will observe your statutes." 145I have cried out with all of my heart. Answer me, LORD! I will observe your statutes.
I cried out to you, "Deliver me, so that I can keep your rules." 146I have called out to you, "Save me, so I may keep your decrees."
I am up before dawn crying for help. I find hope in your word. 147I get up before dawn and cry for help; I place my hope in your word.
My eyes anticipate the nighttime hours, so that I can meditate on your word. 148I look forward to the night watches, when I may meditate on what you have said.
Listen to me because of your loyal love! O LORD, revive me, as you typically do! 149Hear my voice according to your gracious love. LORD, revive me in keeping with your justice.
Those who are eager to do wrong draw near; they are far from your law. 150Those who pursue wickedness draw near; they remain far from your instruction.
You are near, O LORD, and all your commands are reliable. 151You are near, LORD, and all of your commands are true.
I learned long ago that you ordained your rules to last. 152I discovered long ago about your decrees that you have confirmed them forever.
See my pain and rescue me! For I do not forget your law. 153Look on my misery, and rescue me, for I do not ignore your instruction.
Fight for me and defend me! Revive me with your word! 154Defend my case and redeem me; revive me according to your promise.
The wicked have no chance for deliverance, for they do not seek your statutes. 155Deliverance remains remote from the wicked, for they do not seek your statutes.
Your compassion is great, O LORD. Revive me, as you typically do! 156Your mercies are magnificent, LORD; revive me according to your judgments.
The enemies who chase me are numerous. Yet I do not turn aside from your rules. 157Though my persecutors and adversaries are numerous, I do not turn aside from your decrees.
I take note of the treacherous and despise them, because they do not keep your instructions. 158I watch the treacherous, and despise them, because they do not do what you have said.
See how I love your precepts! O LORD, revive me with your loyal love! 159Look how I love your precepts, LORD; revive me according to your gracious love.
Your instructions are totally reliable; all your just regulations endure. 160The sum of your word is truth, and each righteous ordinance of yours is everlasting.
Rulers pursue me for no reason, yet I am more afraid of disobeying your instructions. 161Though nobles persecute me for no reason, my heart stands in awe of your words.
I rejoice in your instructions, like one who finds much plunder. 162I find joy at what you have said like one who has discovered a great treasure.
I hate and despise deceit; I love your law. 163I despise and hate falsehood, but I love your instruction.
Seven times a day I praise you because of your just regulations. 164I praise you seven times a day because of your righteous ordinances.
Those who love your law are completely secure; nothing causes them to stumble. 165Great peace belongs to those who love your instruction, and nothing makes them stumble.
I hope for your deliverance, O LORD, and I obey your commands. 166I am looking in hope for your deliverance, LORD, as I carry out your commands.
I keep your rules; I love them greatly. 167My soul treasures your decrees, and I love them deeply.
I keep your precepts and rules, for you are aware of everything I do. 168I keep your precepts and your decrees because all of my ways are before you.
Listen to my cry for help, O LORD! Give me insight by your word! 169May my cry arise before you, LORD; give me understanding according to your word.
Listen to my appeal for mercy! Deliver me, as you promised. 170Let my request come before you; deliver me, as you have promised.
May praise flow freely from my lips, for you teach me your statutes. 171May my lips utter praise, for you teach me your statutes.
May my tongue sing about your instructions, for all your commands are just. 172May my tongue sing about your promise, for all of your commands are right.
May your hand help me, for I choose to obey your precepts. 173May your hand stand ready to assist me, for I have chosen your precepts.
I long for your deliverance, O LORD; I find delight in your law. 174I am longing for your deliverance, LORD, and your instruction is my joy.
May I live and praise you! May your regulations help me! 175Let me live, and I will praise you; let your ordinances help me.
I have wandered off like a lost sheep. Come looking for your servant, for I do not forget your commands. 176I have wandered away like a lost sheep; come find your servant, for I do not forget your commands.
