1  וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר (And spoke) יְהוָ֖ה (YHWH) אֶל־ (to) מֹשֶׁ֥ה (Moses), לֵּאמֹֽר׃ (saying), 2  דַּבֵּר֙ (Speak) אֶל־ (to) בְּנֵ֣י (the sons) יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל (of Israel) וְאָמַרְתָּ֖ (and say) אֲלֵהֶ֑ם (to them): כִּ֣י (When) תָבֹ֗אוּ (you⁺ enter) אֶל־ (into) אֶ֙רֶץ֙ (the land) מוֹשְׁבֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם (you⁺ are to inhabit), אֲשֶׁ֥ר (which) אֲנִ֖י (I) נֹתֵ֥ן (am giving) לָכֶֽם׃ (to you⁺), 3  וַעֲשִׂיתֶ֨ם (and you⁺ make) אִשֶּׁ֤ה (a fire offering) לַֽיהוָה֙ (to YHWH), עֹלָ֣ה (a burnt offering), אוֹ־ (or) זֶ֔בַח (a sacrifice) לְפַלֵּא־ (to fulfill) נֶ֙דֶר֙ (a vow) א֣וֹ (or) בִנְדָבָ֔ה (as a freewill offering), א֖וֹ (or) בְּמֹעֲדֵיכֶ֑ם (in your⁺ appointed times), לַעֲשׂ֞וֹת (to make) רֵ֤יחַ (an aroma) נִיחֹ֙חַ֙ (pleasing) לַֽיהוָ֔ה (to YHWH) מִן־ (from) הַבָּקָ֖ר (the herd) א֥וֹ (or) מִן־ (from) הַצֹּֽאן׃ (the flock). 4  וְהִקְרִ֛יב (Then he who is bringing near) הַמַּקְרִ֥יב (shall bring) קָרְבָּנ֖וֹ (his offering) לַֽיהוָ֑ה (to YHWH), מִנְחָה֙ (a grain offering) סֹ֣לֶת (of fine flour) עִשָּׂר֔וֹן (a tenth of an ephah) בָּל֕וּל (mixed) בִּרְבִעִ֥ית (with a fourth) הַהִ֖ין (of a hin) שָֽׁמֶן׃ (of oil). 5  וְיַ֤יִן (And wine) לַנֶּ֙סֶךְ֙ (as a drink offering), רְבִיעִ֣ית (a fourth) הַהִ֔ין (of a hin), תַּעֲשֶׂ֥ה (you shall prepare) עַל־ (with) הָעֹלָ֖ה (the burnt offering) א֣וֹ (or) לַזָּ֑בַח (the sacrifice) לַכֶּ֖בֶשׂ (for the lamb) הָאֶחָֽד׃ (one).

6  א֤וֹ (Or) לָאַ֙יִל֙ (for a ram), תַּעֲשֶׂ֣ה (you shall prepare) מִנְחָ֔ה (as a grain offering) סֹ֖לֶת (fine flour), שְׁנֵ֣י (two) עֶשְׂרֹנִ֑ים (tenths of an ephah), בְּלוּלָ֥ה (mixed) בַשֶּׁ֖מֶן (with the oil) שְׁלִשִׁ֥ית (a third) הַהִֽין׃ (of a hin). 7  וְיַ֥יִן (And wine) לַנֶּ֖סֶךְ (as a drink offering), שְׁלִשִׁ֣ית (a third) הַהִ֑ין (of a hin), תַּקְרִ֥יב (you shall offer) רֵֽיחַ־ (an aroma) נִיחֹ֖חַ (pleasing) לַיהוָֽה׃ (to YHWH).

8  וְכִֽי־ (And when) תַעֲשֶׂ֥ה (you prepare) בֶן־ (a son) בָּקָ֖ר (of the herd) עֹלָ֣ה (as a burnt offering), אוֹ־ (or) זָ֑בַח (as a sacrifice) לְפַלֵּא־ (to fulfill) נֶ֥דֶר (a vow), אֽוֹ־ (or) שְׁלָמִ֖ים (as peace offerings) לַֽיהוָֽה׃ (to YHWH), 9  וְהִקְרִ֤יב (then shall be offered) עַל־ (with) בֶּן־ (a son) הַבָּקָר֙ (of the herd) מִנְחָ֔ה (a grain offering) סֹ֖לֶת (of fine flour), שְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה (three) עֶשְׂרֹנִ֑ים (tenths of an ephah), בָּל֥וּל (mixed) בַּשֶּׁ֖מֶן (with the oil) חֲצִ֥י (half) הַהִֽין׃ (a hin). 10  וְיַ֛יִן (And wine) תַּקְרִ֥יב (you shall bring) לַנֶּ֖סֶךְ (as the drink offering), חֲצִ֣י (half) הַהִ֑ין (a hin) אִשֵּׁ֥ה (of as a fire offering), רֵֽיחַ־ (an aroma) נִיחֹ֖חַ (pleasing) לַיהוָֽה׃ (to YHWH). 11  כָּ֣כָה (Thus) יֵעָשֶׂ֗ה (it shall be done) לַשּׁוֹר֙ (for bull) הָֽאֶחָ֔ד (one), א֖וֹ (or) לָאַ֣יִל (for ram) הָאֶחָ֑ד (one), אֽוֹ־ (or) לַשֶּׂ֥ה (for a lamb) בַכְּבָשִׂ֖ים (of the sheep), א֥וֹ (or) בָעִזִּֽים׃ (young goat). 12  כַּמִּסְפָּ֖ר (By the number) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (that) תַּעֲשׂ֑וּ (you⁺ prepare), כָּ֛כָה (so) תַּעֲשׂ֥וּ (you⁺ shall do) לָאֶחָ֖ד (for each one) כְּמִסְפָּרָֽם׃ (according to their number).

13  כָּל־ (All) הָאֶזְרָ֥ח (the native) יַעֲשֶׂה־ (shall do) כָּ֖כָה (in this manner) אֶת־ (-) אֵ֑לֶּה (these things) לְהַקְרִ֛יב (in presenting) אִשֵּׁ֥ה (a fire offering), רֵֽיחַ־ (an aroma) נִיחֹ֖חַ (pleasing) לַֽיהוָֽה׃ (to YHWH). 14  וְכִֽי־ (And if) יָגוּר֩ (sojourns) אִתְּכֶ֨ם (with you⁺) גֵּ֜ר (a sojourner) א֤וֹ (or) אֲשֶֽׁר־ (whoever is) בְּתֽוֹכְכֶם֙ (in your⁺ midst) לְדֹרֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם (throughout your⁺ generations), וְעָשָׂ֛ה (and he would present) אִשֵּׁ֥ה (a fire offering), רֵֽיחַ־ (an aroma) נִיחֹ֖חַ (pleasing) לַיהוָ֑ה (to YHWH). כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר (As) תַּעֲשׂ֖וּ (you⁺ do), כֵּ֥ן (so) יַעֲשֶֽׂה׃ (shall he do). 15  הַקָּהָ֕ל (Of the assembly) חֻקָּ֥ה (ordinance) אַחַ֛ת (one) לָכֶ֖ם (is for you⁺) וְלַגֵּ֣ר (and for the sojourner) הַגָּ֑ר (who is sojourning), חֻקַּ֤ת (an ordinance) עוֹלָם֙ (everlasting) לְדֹרֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם (throughout your⁺ generations). כָּכֶ֛ם (As you⁺ are), כַּגֵּ֥ר (as the sojourner) יִהְיֶ֖ה (shall be) לִפְנֵ֥י (before the face) יְהוָֽה׃ (of YHWH). 16  תּוֹרָ֥ה (Law) אַחַ֛ת (one) וּמִשְׁפָּ֥ט (and ordinance) אֶחָ֖ד (one) יִהְיֶ֣ה (shall be) לָכֶ֑ם (for you⁺) וְלַגֵּ֖ר (and for the sojourner) הַגָּ֥ר (who is sojourning) אִתְּכֶֽם׃פ (with you⁺).

17  וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר (And again spoke) יְהוָ֖ה (YHWH) אֶל־ (to) מֹשֶׁ֥ה (Moses), לֵּאמֹֽר׃ (saying), 18  דַּבֵּר֙ (Speak) אֶל־ (to) בְּנֵ֣י (the sons) יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל (of Israel) וְאָמַרְתָּ֖ (and say) אֲלֵהֶ֑ם (to them): בְּבֹֽאֲכֶם֙ (When you⁺ come) אֶל־ (into) הָאָ֔רֶץ (the land) אֲשֶׁ֥ר (to which) אֲנִ֛י (I) מֵבִ֥יא (bring) אֶתְכֶ֖ם (you⁺) שָֽׁמָּה׃ (there), 19  וְהָיָ֕ה (and it will be) בַּאֲכָלְכֶ֖ם (that when you⁺ eat) מִלֶּ֣חֶם (of the bread) הָאָ֑רֶץ (of the land), תָּרִ֥ימוּ (you⁺ shall offer up) תְרוּמָ֖ה (a contribution) לַיהוָֽה׃ (to YHWH). 20  רֵאשִׁית֙ (From the first) עֲרִסֹ֣תֵכֶ֔ם (of your⁺ ground meal) חַלָּ֖ה (a cake) תָּרִ֣ימוּ (you⁺ shall offer up) תְרוּמָ֑ה (as a contribution), כִּתְרוּמַ֣ת (as a contribution) גֹּ֔רֶן (of the threshing floor), כֵּ֖ן (so) תָּרִ֥ימוּ (shall you⁺ offer up) אֹתָֽהּ׃ (it). 21  מֵרֵאשִׁית֙ (Of the first) עֲרִסֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם (of your⁺ ground meal) תִּתְּנ֥וּ (you⁺ shall give) לַיהוָ֖ה (to YHWH) תְּרוּמָ֑ה (a contribution) לְדֹרֹ֖תֵיכֶֽם׃ס (throughout your⁺ generations).

Offerings for Unintentional Sins

22  וְכִ֣י (And if) תִשְׁגּ֔וּ (you⁺ err) וְלֹ֣א (and not) תַעֲשׂ֔וּ (do observe) אֵ֥ת (-) כָּל־ (all) הַמִּצְוֺ֖ת (the commandments) הָאֵ֑לֶּה (these) אֲשֶׁר־ (that) דִּבֶּ֥ר (has spoken) יְהוָ֖ה (YHWH) אֶל־ (to) מֹשֶֽׁה׃ (Moses), 23  אֵת֩ (-) כָּל־ (all) אֲשֶׁ֨ר (that) צִוָּ֧ה (has commanded) יְהוָ֛ה (YHWH) אֲלֵיכֶ֖ם (to you⁺) בְּיַד־ (by the hand) מֹשֶׁ֑ה (of Moses), מִן־ (from) הַיּ֞וֹם (the day) אֲשֶׁ֨ר (that) צִוָּ֧ה (commanded) יְהוָ֛ה (YHWH) וָהָ֖לְאָה (and onward) לְדֹרֹתֵיכֶֽם׃ (throughout your⁺ generations)— 24  וְהָיָ֗ה (and it will be), אִ֣ם (if) מֵעֵינֵ֣י (away from the eyes) הָעֵדָה֮ (of the congregation) נֶעֶשְׂתָ֣ה (it is committed) לִשְׁגָגָה֒ (in error), וְעָשׂ֣וּ (that shall offer) כָל־ (all) הָעֵדָ֡ה (the congregation) פַּ֣ר (a bull), בֶּן־ (a son) בָּקָר֩ (of the herd) אֶחָ֨ד (one), לְעֹלָ֜ה (as a burnt offering), לְרֵ֤יחַ (for an aroma) נִיחֹ֙חַ֙ (pleasing) לַֽיהוָ֔ה (to YHWH), וּמִנְחָת֥וֹ (and with its grain offering) וְנִסְכּ֖וֹ (and its drink offering) כַּמִּשְׁפָּ֑ט (according to the ordinance), וּשְׂעִיר־ (and a kid) עִזִּ֥ים (of the goats) אֶחָ֖ד (one) לְחַטָּֽת׃ (for a sin offering).

25  וְכִפֶּ֣ר (And shall make atonement) הַכֹּהֵ֗ן (the priest) עַֽל־ (upon) כָּל־ (whole) עֲדַ֛ת (the congregation) בְּנֵ֥י (of the sons) יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל (of Israel), וְנִסְלַ֣ח (and it shall be forgiven) לָהֶ֑ם (for them), כִּֽי־ (for) שְׁגָגָ֣ה (was an error) הִ֔וא (it). וְהֵם֩ (And they) הֵבִ֨יאוּ (shall bring) אֶת־ (-) קָרְבָּנָ֜ם (their offerings), אִשֶּׁ֣ה (a fire offering) לַֽיהוָ֗ה (to YHWH), וְחַטָּאתָ֛ם (and their sin offering) לִפְנֵ֥י (before the face of) יְהוָ֖ה (YHWH), עַל־ (for) שִׁגְגָתָֽם׃ (their error). 26  וְנִסְלַ֗ח (And it shall be forgiven) לְכָל־ (all) עֲדַת֙ (the congregation) בְּנֵ֣י (of the sons) יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל (of Israel), וְלַגֵּ֖ר (and the sojourner) הַגָּ֣ר (who is sojourning) בְּתוֹכָ֑ם (in their midst), כִּ֥י (because) לְכָל־ (all) הָעָ֖ם (the people) בִּשְׁגָגָֽה׃ס (did it in error).

27  וְאִם־ (And if) נֶ֥פֶשׁ (person) אַחַ֖ת (one) תֶּחֱטָ֣א (sins) בִשְׁגָגָ֑ה (in error), וְהִקְרִ֛יבָה (and he shall bring) עֵ֥ז (a female goat), בַּת־ (a daughter) שְׁנָתָ֖הּ (of a year), לְחַטָּֽאת׃ (as a sin offering). 28  וְכִפֶּ֣ר (And shall make atonement) הַכֹּהֵ֗ן (the priest) עַל־ (upon) הַנֶּ֧פֶשׁ (the soul) הַשֹּׁגֶ֛גֶת (the one who is erring) בְּחֶטְאָ֥ה (when he sins) בִשְׁגָגָ֖ה (in error), לִפְנֵ֣י (before the face of) יְהוָ֑ה (YHWH), לְכַפֵּ֥ר (to make atonement) עָלָ֖יו (upon him), וְנִסְלַ֥ח (and it shall be forgiven) לֽוֹ׃ (for him). 29  הָֽאֶזְרָח֙ (The native) בִּבְנֵ֣י (among the sons) יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל (of Israel) וְלַגֵּ֖ר (and for the sojourner) הַגָּ֣ר (who is sojourning) בְּתוֹכָ֑ם (in their midst), תּוֹרָ֤ה (law) אַחַת֙ (one) יִהְיֶ֣ה (there shall be), לָכֶ֔ם (for you⁺) לָעֹשֶׂ֖ה (for the one who sins) בִּשְׁגָגָֽה׃ (in error).

30  וְהַנֶּ֜פֶשׁ (And the soul) אֲשֶֽׁר־ (who) תַּעֲשֶׂ֣ה׀ (does) בְּיָ֣ד (by hand) רָמָ֗ה (beguile), מִן־ (from) הָֽאֶזְרָח֙ (the native) וּמִן־ (and from) הַגֵּ֔ר (the sojourner), אֶת־ (-) יְהוָ֖ה (YHWH) ה֣וּא (he) מְגַדֵּ֑ף (reviles), וְנִכְרְתָ֛ה (and shall be cut off) הַנֶּ֥פֶשׁ (the person) הַהִ֖וא (that) מִקֶּ֥רֶב (from among) עַמָּֽהּ׃ (his people). 31  כִּ֤י (Because) דְבַר־ (the word) יְהוָה֙ (of YHWH) בָּזָ֔ה (he has despised), וְאֶת־ (and) מִצְוָת֖וֹ (His commandment) הֵפַ֑ר (has broken), הִכָּרֵ֧ת׀ (being cut off) תִּכָּרֵ֛ת (shall be cut off) הַנֶּ֥פֶשׁ (the person) הַהִ֖וא (that); עֲוֺנָ֥ה (his guilt is) בָֽהּ׃פ (upon him).

32  וַיִּהְי֥וּ (And while were) בְנֵֽי־ (the sons) יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל (of Israel) בַּמִּדְבָּ֑ר (in the wilderness), וַֽיִּמְצְא֗וּ (and they found) אִ֛ישׁ (a man) מְקֹשֵׁ֥שׁ (gathering) עֵצִ֖ים (sticks) בְּי֥וֹם (on day) הַשַּׁבָּֽת׃ (the Sabbath). 33  וַיַּקְרִ֣יבוּ (And brought) אֹת֔וֹ (him) הַמֹּצְאִ֥ים (those who found) אֹת֖וֹ (him) מְקֹשֵׁ֣שׁ (gathering) עֵצִ֑ים (sticks) אֶל־ (to) מֹשֶׁה֙ (Moses) וְאֶֽל־ (and) אַהֲרֹ֔ן (Aaron) וְאֶ֖ל (and to) כָּל־ (all) הָעֵדָֽה׃ (the congregation). 34  וַיַּנִּ֥יחוּ (And they put) אֹת֖וֹ (him) בַּמִּשְׁמָ֑ר (under guard), כִּ֚י (because) לֹ֣א (not) פֹרַ֔שׁ (it had been explained) מַה־ (what) יֵּעָשֶׂ֖ה (should be done) לֽוֹ׃ס (to him).

35  וַיֹּ֤אמֶר (And said) יְהוָה֙ (YHWH) אֶל־ (to) מֹשֶׁ֔ה (Moses), מ֥וֹת (Dying) יוּמַ֖ת (must be put to death) הָאִ֑ישׁ (the man); רָג֨וֹם (shall stone) אֹת֤וֹ (him) בָֽאֲבָנִים֙ (with stones) כָּל־ (all) הָ֣עֵדָ֔ה (the congregation) מִח֖וּץ (outside) לַֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃ (of the camp).

36  וַיֹּצִ֨יאוּ (And brought) אֹת֜וֹ (him) כָּל־ (all) הָעֵדָ֗ה (the congregation) אֶל־ (to) מִחוּץ֙ (the outside) לַֽמַּחֲנֶ֔ה (of the camp), וַיִּרְגְּמ֥וּ (and stoned) אֹת֛וֹ (him) בָּאֲבָנִ֖ים (with stones), וַיָּמֹ֑ת (and he died), כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר (as) צִוָּ֥ה (had commanded) יְהוָ֖ה (YHWH) אֶת־ (-) מֹשֶֽׁה׃פ (Moses).

The Law of Tassels

37  וַיֹּ֥אמֶר (And again spoke) יְהוָ֖ה (YHWH) אֶל־ (to) מֹשֶׁ֥ה (Moses), לֵּאמֹֽר׃ (saying), 38  דַּבֵּ֞ר (Speak) אֶל־ (to) בְּנֵ֤י (the sons) יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ (of Israel) וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ (and tell) אֲלֵהֶ֔ם (to them) וְעָשׂ֨וּ (and to make) לָהֶ֥ם (for themselves) צִיצִ֛ת (tassels) עַל־ (on) כַּנְפֵ֥י (the corners) בִגְדֵיהֶ֖ם (of their garments) לְדֹרֹתָ֑ם (throughout their generations), וְנָֽתְנ֛וּ (and to put) עַל־ (in) צִיצִ֥ת (the tassels) הַכָּנָ֖ף (of the corners) פְּתִ֥יל (a thread) תְּכֵֽלֶת׃ (blue). 39  וְהָיָ֣ה (And shall have) לָכֶם֮ (you⁺) לְצִיצִת֒ (the tassel), וּרְאִיתֶ֣ם (that you⁺ may look upon) אֹת֗וֹ (it) וּזְכַרְתֶּם֙ (and remember) אֶת־ (-) כָּל־ (all) מִצְוֺ֣ת (the commandments) יְהוָ֔ה (of YHWH) וַעֲשִׂיתֶ֖ם (and do) אֹתָ֑ם (them), וְלֹֽא־ (and not) תָתֻ֜רוּ (that you⁺ follow) אַחֲרֵ֤י (after) לְבַבְכֶם֙ (your⁺ own heart) וְאַחֲרֵ֣י (and) עֵֽינֵיכֶ֔ם (your⁺ own eyes), אֲשֶׁר־ (to which are inclined) אַתֶּ֥ם (you⁺) זֹנִ֖ים (to prostitute yourselves) אַחֲרֵיהֶֽם׃ (after them).

40  לְמַ֣עַן (Then) תִּזְכְּר֔וּ (you⁺ will remember) וַעֲשִׂיתֶ֖ם (and do) אֶת־ (-) כָּל־ (all) מִצְוֺתָ֑י (My commandments), וִהְיִיתֶ֥ם (and you⁺ shall be) קְדֹשִׁ֖ים (holy) לֵֽאלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃ (unto your⁺ God). 41  אֲנִ֞י (I am) יְהוָ֣ה (YHWH) אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֗ם (your⁺ God), אֲשֶׁ֨ר (who) הוֹצֵ֤אתִי (brought out) אֶתְכֶם֙ (you⁺) מֵאֶ֣רֶץ (of the land) מִצְרַ֔יִם (of Egypt) לִהְי֥וֹת (to be) לָכֶ֖ם (your⁺) לֵאלֹהִ֑ים (God); אֲנִ֖י (I am) יְהוָ֥ה (YHWH) אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃פ (your⁺ God).
