Additional Blessings of Obedience

1  לֹֽא־ (Not) תַעֲשׂ֨וּ (you⁺ shall make) לָכֶ֜ם (for yourselves) אֱלִילִ֗ם (idols); וּפֶ֤סֶל (and graven image) וּמַצֵּבָה֙ (or standing image) לֹֽא־ (not) תָקִ֣ימוּ (shall you⁺ rear up) לָכֶ֔ם (for yourselves); וְאֶ֣בֶן (and a stone) מַשְׂכִּ֗ית (engraved) לֹ֤א (not) תִתְּנוּ֙ (shall you⁺ set up) בְּאַרְצְכֶ֔ם (in your⁺ land) לְהִֽשְׁתַּחֲוֺ֖ת (to bow down) עָלֶ֑יהָ (to it). כִּ֛י (For) אֲנִ֥י (I am) יְהוָ֖ה (YHWH) אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃ (your⁺ God).

2  אֶת־ (-) שַׁבְּתֹתַ֣י (My Sabbaths) תִּשְׁמֹ֔רוּ (you⁺ shall keep), וּמִקְדָּשִׁ֖י (and My sanctuary) תִּירָ֑אוּ (you⁺ shall revere). אֲנִ֖י (I am) יְהוָֽה׃ס (YHWH).

3  אִם־ (If) בְּחֻקֹּתַ֖י (in My statutes) תֵּלֵ֑כוּ (you⁺ walk), וְאֶת־ (and) מִצְוֺתַ֣י (My commandments) תִּשְׁמְר֔וּ (keep) וַעֲשִׂיתֶ֖ם (and do) אֹתָֽם׃ (them), 4  וְנָתַתִּ֥י (and I will give) גִשְׁמֵיכֶ֖ם (to you⁺ rain) בְּעִתָּ֑ם (in its season), וְנָתְנָ֤ה (and shall yield) הָאָ֙רֶץ֙ (the land) יְבוּלָ֔הּ (its produce), וְעֵ֥ץ (and the trees) הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה (of the field) יִתֵּ֥ן (shall yield) פִּרְיֽוֹ׃ (their fruit). 5  וְהִשִּׂ֨יג (And shall last) לָכֶ֥ם (your⁺) דַּ֙יִשׁ֙ (threshing) אֶת־ (-) בָּצִ֔יר (until the time of vintage), וּבָצִ֖יר (and the vintage) יַשִּׂ֣יג (shall last) אֶת־ (-) זָ֑רַע (until the time of sowing), וַאֲכַלְתֶּ֤ם (and you⁺ shall eat) לַחְמְכֶם֙ (your⁺ bread) לָשֹׂ֔בַע (to the full) וִֽישַׁבְתֶּ֥ם (and dwell) לָבֶ֖טַח (safely) בְּאַרְצְכֶֽם׃ (in your⁺ land).

6  וְנָתַתִּ֤י (And I will give) שָׁלוֹם֙ (peace) בָּאָ֔רֶץ (in the land), וּשְׁכַבְתֶּ֖ם (and you⁺ shall lie down), וְאֵ֣ין (and nothing) מַחֲרִ֑יד (will make you afraid). וְהִשְׁבַּתִּ֞י (And I will cause to cease) חַיָּ֤ה (beasts) רָעָה֙ (evil) מִן־ (out) הָאָ֔רֶץ (of the land), וְחֶ֖רֶב (and the sword) לֹא־ (not) תַעֲבֹ֥ר (will go) בְּאַרְצְכֶֽם׃ (into your⁺ land). 7  וּרְדַפְתֶּ֖ם (And you⁺ will pursue) אֶת־ (-) אֹיְבֵיכֶ֑ם (your⁺ enemies), וְנָפְל֥וּ (and they shall fall) לִפְנֵיכֶ֖ם (before you⁺) לֶחָֽרֶב (by the sword). 8  וְרָדְפ֨וּ (And shall pursue) מִכֶּ֤ם (of you⁺) חֲמִשָּׁה֙ (five) מֵאָ֔ה (a hundred), וּמֵאָ֥ה (and a hundred) מִכֶּ֖ם (of you⁺) רְבָבָ֣ה (a myriad) יִרְדֹּ֑פוּ (shall pursue), וְנָפְל֧וּ (and shall fall) אֹיְבֵיכֶ֛ם (your⁺ enemies) לִפְנֵיכֶ֖ם (before you⁺) לֶחָֽרֶב׃ (by the sword).

9  וּפָנִ֣יתִי (And I will turn) אֲלֵיכֶ֔ם (to you⁺) וְהִפְרֵיתִ֣י (and make you fruitful) אֶתְכֶ֔ם (-) וְהִרְבֵּיתִ֖י (and multiply) אֶתְכֶ֑ם (you⁺), וַהֲקִימֹתִ֥י (and I will establish) אֶת־ (-) בְּרִיתִ֖י (My covenant) אִתְּכֶֽם׃ (with you⁺). 10  וַאֲכַלְתֶּ֥ם (And you⁺ shall eat) יָשָׁ֖ן (the old store) נוֹשָׁ֑ן (a long time) וְיָשָׁ֕ן (and kept), מִפְּנֵ֥י (because) חָדָ֖שׁ (of the new) תּוֹצִֽיאוּ׃ (you⁺ bring out).

11  וְנָתַתִּ֥י (And I will set) מִשְׁכָּנִ֖י (My tabernacle) בְּתוֹכְכֶ֑ם (in your⁺ midst), וְלֹֽא־ (and not) תִגְעַ֥ל (shall abhor) נַפְשִׁ֖י (My soul) אֶתְכֶֽם׃ (you⁺). 12  וְהִתְהַלַּכְתִּי֙ (And I will walk) בְּת֣וֹכְכֶ֔ם (in your⁺ midst) וְהָיִ֥יתִי (and I will be) לָכֶ֖ם (your⁺) לֵֽאלֹהִ֑ים (God), וְאַתֶּ֖ם (and you⁺) תִּהְיוּ־ (will be) לִ֥י (My) לְעָֽם׃ (people). 13  אֲנִ֞י (I am) יְהוָ֣ה (YHWH) אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֗ם (your⁺ God), אֲשֶׁ֨ר (who) הוֹצֵ֤אתִי (brought) אֶתְכֶם֙ (you⁺) מֵאֶ֣רֶץ (out of the land) מִצְרַ֔יִם (of Egypt), מִֽהְיֹ֥ת (that you should not be) לָהֶ֖ם (their) עֲבָדִ֑ים (slaves). וָאֶשְׁבֹּר֙ (And I have broken) מֹטֹ֣ת (the bands) עֻלְּכֶ֔ם (of your⁺ yoke) וָאוֹלֵ֥ךְ (and made you walk) אֶתְכֶ֖ם (-) קֽוֹמְמִיּֽוּת׃פ (upright).

Punishments for Disobedience
(Leviticus 20:1–9; Deuteronomy 28:15–68)

14  וְאִם־ (But if) לֹ֥א (not) תִשְׁמְע֖וּ (you⁺ do obey) לִ֑י (Me) וְלֹ֣א (and not) תַעֲשׂ֔וּ (do observe) אֵ֥ת (-) כָּל־ (all) הַמִּצְוֺ֖ת (the commandments) הָאֵֽלֶּה׃ (these), 15  וְאִם־ (and if) בְּחֻקֹּתַ֣י (My statutes) תִּמְאָ֔סוּ (you⁺ despise), וְאִ֥ם (and if) אֶת־ (-) מִשְׁפָּטַ֖י (My ordinances) תִּגְעַ֣ל (abhors) נַפְשְׁכֶ֑ם (your⁺ soul), לְבִלְתִּ֤י (so as not) עֲשׂוֹת֙ (to perform) אֶת־ (-) כָּל־ (all) מִצְוֺתַ֔י (My commandments)— לְהַפְרְכֶ֖ם (to your⁺ breaking) אֶת־ (-) בְּרִיתִֽי׃ (My covenant)— 16  אַף־ (also) אֲנִ֞י (I) אֶֽעֱשֶׂה־ (will do) זֹּ֣את (this) לָכֶ֗ם (to you⁺): וְהִפְקַדְתִּ֨י (And I will appoint) עֲלֵיכֶ֤ם (over you⁺) בֶּֽהָלָה֙ (terror), אֶת־ (-) הַשַּׁחֶ֣פֶת (wasting disease), וְאֶת־ (and) הַקַּדַּ֔חַת (fever) מְכַלּ֥וֹת (which shall consume) עֵינַ֖יִם (the eyes) וּמְדִיבֹ֣ת (and cause sorrow) נָ֑פֶשׁ (of heart); וּזְרַעְתֶּ֤ם (and you⁺ shall sow) לָרִיק֙ (in vain) זַרְעֲכֶ֔ם (your⁺ seed), וַאֲכָלֻ֖הוּ (and shall eat it) אֹיְבֵיכֶֽם׃ (your⁺ enemies). 17  וְנָתַתִּ֤י (And I will set) פָנַי֙ (My face) בָּכֶ֔ם (against you⁺), וְנִגַּפְתֶּ֖ם (and you⁺ shall be defeated) לִפְנֵ֣י (by) אֹיְבֵיכֶ֑ם (your⁺ enemies). וְרָד֤וּ (And shall reign) בָכֶם֙ (over you⁺) שֹֽׂנְאֵיכֶ֔ם (those who hate you⁺), וְנַסְתֶּ֖ם (and you⁺ shall flee) וְאֵין־ (when none) רֹדֵ֥ף (pursues) אֶתְכֶֽם׃ס (you⁺).

18  וְאִ֨ם־ (And if) עַד־ (after) אֵ֔לֶּה (these things) לֹ֥א (not) תִשְׁמְע֖וּ (you⁺ do obey) לִ֑י (Me), וְיָסַפְתִּי֙ (and I will add) לְיַסְּרָ֣ה (to punish) אֶתְכֶ֔ם (you⁺) שֶׁ֖בַע (sevenfold) עַל־ (for) חַטֹּאתֵיכֶֽם׃ (your⁺ sins). 19  וְשָׁבַרְתִּ֖י (And I will break) אֶת־ (-) גְּא֣וֹן (the pride) עֻזְּכֶ֑ם (of your⁺ power), וְנָתַתִּ֤י (and I will make) אֶת־ (-) שְׁמֵיכֶם֙ (your⁺ heavens) כַּבַּרְזֶ֔ל (like iron) וְאֶֽת־ (and) אַרְצְכֶ֖ם (your⁺ earth) כַּנְּחֻשָֽׁה׃ (like bronze). 20  וְתַ֥ם (And shall be spent) לָרִ֖יק (in vain) כֹּחֲכֶ֑ם (your⁺ power), וְלֹֽא־ (and not) תִתֵּ֤ן (shall yield) אַרְצְכֶם֙ (your⁺ land) אֶת־ (-) יְבוּלָ֔הּ (its produce), וְעֵ֣ץ (and the trees) הָאָ֔רֶץ (of the land) לֹ֥א (not) יִתֵּ֖ן (shall yield) פִּרְיֽוֹ׃ (their fruit).

21  וְאִם־ (And if) תֵּֽלְכ֤וּ (you⁺ walk) עִמִּי֙ (to Me) קֶ֔רִי (contrary) וְלֹ֥א (and not) תֹאב֖וּ (are willing) לִשְׁמֹ֣עַֽ (to obey) לִ֑י (Me), וְיָסַפְתִּ֤י (then I will add) עֲלֵיכֶם֙ (to you⁺) מַכָּ֔ה (a plague) שֶׁ֖בַע (sevenfold) כְּחַטֹּאתֵיכֶֽם׃ (according to your⁺ sins). 22  וְהִשְׁלַחְתִּ֨י (And I will send) בָכֶ֜ם (among you⁺) אֶת־ (-) חַיַּ֤ת (beast) הַשָּׂדֶה֙ (the wild), וְשִׁכְּלָ֣ה (and it shall rob you) אֶתְכֶ֔ם (of your⁺ children) וְהִכְרִ֙יתָה֙ (and destroy) אֶת־ (-) בְּהֶמְתְּכֶ֔ם (your⁺ livestock) וְהִמְעִ֖יטָה (and make few in number) אֶתְכֶ֑ם (you⁺), וְנָשַׁ֖מּוּ (and shall be desolate) דַּרְכֵיכֶֽם׃ (your⁺ highways).

23  וְאִ֨ם־ (And if) בְּאֵ֔לֶּה (by these things) לֹ֥א (not) תִוָּסְר֖וּ (you⁺ are reformed) לִ֑י (by Me), וַהֲלַכְתֶּ֥ם (and you⁺ walk) עִמִּ֖י (to Me) קֶֽרִי׃ (contrary), 24  וְהָלַכְתִּ֧י (and will walk) אַף־ (also) אֲנִ֛י (I) עִמָּכֶ֖ם (to you⁺) בְּקֶ֑רִי (contrary), וְהִכֵּיתִ֤י (and will punish) אֶתְכֶם֙ (you⁺) גַּם־ (even) אָ֔נִי (I) שֶׁ֖בַע (sevenfold) עַל־ (for) חַטֹּאתֵיכֶֽם׃ (your⁺ sins). 25  וְהֵבֵאתִ֨י (And I will bring) עֲלֵיכֶ֜ם (against you⁺) חֶ֗רֶב (a sword) נֹקֶ֙מֶת֙ (that will kill) נְקַם־ (the vengeance) בְּרִ֔ית (of the covenant). וְנֶאֱסַפְתֶּ֖ם (And you⁺ are gathered together) אֶל־ (within) עָרֵיכֶ֑ם (your⁺ cities), וְשִׁלַּ֤חְתִּי (and I will send) דֶ֙בֶר֙ (pestilence) בְּת֣וֹכְכֶ֔ם (in your⁺ midst), וְנִתַּתֶּ֖ם (and you⁺ shall be given) בְּיַד־ (into the hand) אוֹיֵֽב׃ (of the enemy). 26  בְּשִׁבְרִ֣י (In My breaking) לָכֶם֮ (your⁺) מַטֵּה־ (staff) לֶחֶם֒ (of bread), וְ֠אָפוּ (and shall bake) עֶ֣שֶׂר (ten) נָשִׁ֤ים (women) לַחְמְכֶם֙ (your⁺ bread) בְּתַנּ֣וּר (in oven) אֶחָ֔ד (one), וְהֵשִׁ֥יבוּ (and they shall bring back) לַחְמְכֶ֖ם (your⁺ bread) בַּמִּשְׁקָ֑ל (by weight), וַאֲכַלְתֶּ֖ם (and you⁺ shall eat) וְלֹ֥א (and not) תִשְׂבָּֽעוּ׃ס (be satisfied).

27  וְאִ֨ם־ (And if) בְּזֹ֔את (after all this) לֹ֥א (not) תִשְׁמְע֖וּ (you⁺ do obey) לִ֑י (Me), וַהֲלַכְתֶּ֥ם (and if you⁺ walk) עִמִּ֖י (to Me) בְּקֶֽרִי׃ (contrary), 28  וְהָלַכְתִּ֥י (and also I will walk) עִמָּכֶ֖ם (to you⁺) בַּחֲמַת־ (in fury) קֶ֑רִי (contrary), וְיִסַּרְתִּ֤י (and I will chastise) אֶתְכֶם֙ (you⁺), אַף־ (even) אָ֔נִי (I), שֶׁ֖בַע (sevenfold) עַל־ (for) חַטֹּאתֵיכֶם׃ (your⁺ sins). 29  וַאֲכַלְתֶּ֖ם (And you⁺ shall eat) בְּשַׂ֣ר (the flesh) בְּנֵיכֶ֑ם (of your⁺ sons), וּבְשַׂ֥ר (and the flesh) בְּנֹתֵיכֶ֖ם (of your⁺ daughters) תֹּאכֵֽלוּ׃ (you⁺ shall eat). 30  וְהִשְׁמַדְתִּ֞י (And I will destroy) אֶת־ (-) בָּמֹֽתֵיכֶ֗ם (your⁺ high places), וְהִכְרַתִּי֙ (and cut down) אֶת־ (-) חַמָּ֣נֵיכֶ֔ם (your⁺ incense altars), וְנָֽתַתִּי֙ (and cast) אֶת־ (-) פִּגְרֵיכֶ֔ם (your⁺ carcasses) עַל־ (on) פִּגְרֵ֖י (the lifeless forms) גִּלּוּלֵיכֶ֑ם (of your⁺ idols), וְגָעֲלָ֥ה (and shall abhor) נַפְשִׁ֖י (My soul) אֶתְכֶֽם׃ (you⁺).

31  וְנָתַתִּ֤י (And I will lay) אֶת־ (-) עָֽרֵיכֶם֙ (your⁺ cities) חָרְבָּ֔ה (waste) וַהֲשִׁמּוֹתִ֖י (and bring to desolation) אֶת־ (-) מִקְדְּשֵׁיכֶ֑ם (your⁺ sanctuaries), וְלֹ֣א (and not) אָרִ֔יחַ (I will smell) בְּרֵ֖יחַ (your⁺ aromas) נִיחֹֽחֲכֶֽם׃ (pleasing). 32  וַהֲשִׁמֹּתִ֥י (And will bring to desolation) אֲנִ֖י (I) אֶת־ (-) הָאָ֑רֶץ (the land), וְשָֽׁמְמ֤וּ (and shall be astonished) עָלֶ֙יהָ֙ (at it) אֹֽיְבֵיכֶ֔ם (your⁺ enemies) הַיֹּשְׁבִ֖ים (who dwell) בָּֽהּ׃ (in it). 33  וְאֶתְכֶם֙ (And you⁺) אֱזָרֶ֣ה (I will scatter) בַגּוֹיִ֔ם (among the nations), וַהֲרִיקֹתִ֥י (and draw out) אַחֲרֵיכֶ֖ם (after you⁺) חָ֑רֶב (a sword). וְהָיְתָ֤ה (And shall be) אַרְצְכֶם֙ (your⁺ land) שְׁמָמָ֔ה (desolate), וְעָרֵיכֶ֖ם (and your⁺ cities) יִהְי֥וּ (will become) חָרְבָּֽה׃ (waste).

34  אָז֩ (Then) תִּרְצֶ֨ה (shall enjoy) הָאָ֜רֶץ (the land) אֶת־ (-) שַׁבְּתֹתֶ֗יהָ (its sabbaths), כֹּ֚ל (all) יְמֵ֣י (the days) הֳשַׁמָּ֔ה (of the desolation), וְאַתֶּ֖ם (and you⁺ are) בְּאֶ֣רֶץ (in the land) אֹיְבֵיכֶ֑ם (of your⁺ enemies); אָ֚ז (then) תִּשְׁבַּ֣ת (shall rest) הָאָ֔רֶץ (the land) וְהִרְצָ֖ת (and enjoy) אֶת־ (-) שַׁבְּתֹתֶֽיהָ׃ (its sabbaths). 35  כָּל־ (All) יְמֵ֥י (the days) הָשַּׁמָּ֖ה (of the desolation) תִּשְׁבֹּ֑ת (it shall rest) אֵ֣ת (-), אֲשֶׁ֧ר (for) לֹֽא־ (not) שָׁבְתָ֛ה (it did rest) בְּשַׁבְּתֹתֵיכֶ֖ם (in your⁺ Sabbaths), בְּשִׁבְתְּכֶ֥ם (when you⁺ dwelt) עָלֶֽיהָ׃ (in it).

36  וְהַנִּשְׁאָרִ֣ים (And those remaining) בָּכֶ֔ם (of you⁺) וְהֵבֵ֤אתִי (and I will send) מֹ֙רֶךְ֙ (faintness) בִּלְבָבָ֔ם (into their heart) בְּאַרְצֹ֖ת (in the lands) אֹיְבֵיהֶ֑ם (of their enemies), וְרָדַ֣ף (and shall cause to flee) אֹתָ֗ם (them). ק֚וֹל (The sound) עָלֶ֣ה (of a leaf) נִדָּ֔ף (shaken) וְנָס֧וּ (and they shall flee) מְנֻֽסַת־ (as though fleeing from) חֶ֛רֶב (a sword), וְנָפְל֖וּ (and they shall fall), וְאֵ֥ין (when none) רֹדֵֽף׃ (pursues). 37  וְכָשְׁל֧וּ (And they shall stumble) אִישׁ־ (one) בְּאָחִ֛יו (over another), כְּמִפְּנֵי־ (as it were before) חֶ֖רֶב (a sword), וְרֹדֵ֣ף (and pursues) אָ֑יִן (when none). וְלֹא־ (And no) תִֽהְיֶ֤ה (shall have) לָכֶם֙ (you⁺) תְּקוּמָ֔ה (standing) לִפְנֵ֖י (before the face of) אֹֽיְבֵיכֶֽם׃ (your⁺ enemies).

38  וַאֲבַדְתֶּ֖ם (And you⁺ shall perish) בַּגּוֹיִ֑ם (among the nations), וְאָכְלָ֣ה (and shall eat up) אֶתְכֶ֔ם (you⁺) אֶ֖רֶץ (the land) אֹיְבֵיכֶֽם׃ (of your⁺ enemies). 39  וְהַנִּשְׁאָרִ֣ים (And those who are left) בָּכֶ֗ם (of you⁺) יִמַּ֙קּוּ֙ (shall waste away) בַּֽעֲוֺנָ֔ם (in their iniquity) בְּאַרְצֹ֖ת (in the lands) אֹיְבֵיכֶ֑ם (of your⁺ enemies), וְאַ֛ף (and also) בַּעֲוֺנֹ֥ת (in the iniquities) אֲבֹתָ֖ם (of their fathers) אִתָּ֥ם (with them) יִמָּֽקּוּ׃ (they shall waste away).

God Remembers Those Who Repent

40  וְהִתְוַדּ֤וּ (And if they confess) אֶת־ (-) עֲוֺנָם֙ (their iniquity) וְאֶת־ (and) עֲוֺ֣ן (the iniquity) אֲבֹתָ֔ם (of their fathers), בְּמַעֲלָ֖ם (with their unfaithfulness) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (in which) מָֽעֲלוּ־ (they were unfaithful) בִ֑י (to Me), וְאַ֕ף (and also) אֲשֶׁר־ (that) הָֽלְכ֥וּ (they have walked) עִמִּ֖י (to Me) בְּקֶֽרִי׃ (contrary), 41  אַף־ (and also) אֲנִ֗י (that I) אֵלֵ֤ךְ (have walked) עִמָּם֙ (to them) בְּקֶ֔רִי (contrary), וְהֵבֵאתִ֣י (and have brought) אֹתָ֔ם (them) בְּאֶ֖רֶץ (into the land) אֹיְבֵיהֶ֑ם (of their enemies)— אוֹ־ (if) אָ֣ז (then) יִכָּנַ֗ע (are humbled) לְבָבָם֙ (their hearts) הֶֽעָרֵ֔ל (uncircumcised) וְאָ֖ז (and then) יִרְצ֥וּ (they accept) אֶת־ (-) עֲוֺנָֽם׃ (their guilt), 42  וְזָכַרְתִּ֖י (and I will remember) אֶת־ (-) בְּרִיתִ֣י (My covenant) יַעֲק֑וֹב (with Jacob), וְאַף֩ (and) אֶת־ (-) בְּרִיתִ֨י (My covenant) יִצְחָ֜ק (with Isaac), וְאַ֨ף (and) אֶת־ (-) בְּרִיתִ֧י (My covenant) אַבְרָהָ֛ם (with Abraham) אֶזְכֹּ֖ר (I will remember); וְהָאָ֥רֶץ (and the land) אֶזְכֹּֽר׃ (I will remember).

43  וְהָאָרֶץ֩ (And the land) תֵּעָזֵ֨ב (shall be left empty) מֵהֶ֜ם (by them), וְתִ֣רֶץ (and it will enjoy) אֶת־ (-) שַׁבְּתֹתֶ֗יהָ (its sabbaths) בָּהְשַׁמָּה֙ (while it lies desolate) מֵהֶ֔ם (without them). וְהֵ֖ם (And they) יִרְצ֣וּ (will accept) אֶת־ (-) עֲוֺנָ֑ם (their guilt), יַ֣עַן (because) וּבְיַ֔עַן (and because) בְּמִשְׁפָּטַ֣י (My ordinances) מָאָ֔סוּ (they have despised), וְאֶת־ (and) חֻקֹּתַ֖י (My statutes) גָּעֲלָ֥ה (have abhorred) נַפְשָֽׁם׃ (their souls).

44  וְאַף־ (And also) גַּם־ (even) זֹ֠את (this), בִּֽהְיוֹתָ֞ם (in their being) בְּאֶ֣רֶץ (in the land) אֹֽיְבֵיהֶ֗ם (of their enemies), לֹֽא־ (not) מְאַסְתִּ֤ים (I will cast them away), וְלֹֽא־ (and not) גְעַלְתִּים֙ (shall I abhor them) לְכַלֹּתָ֔ם (to utterly destroy them), לְהָפֵ֥ר (and break) בְּרִיתִ֖י (My covenant) אִתָּ֑ם (with them). כִּ֛י (For) אֲנִ֥י (I am) יְהוָ֖ה (YHWH) אֱלֹהֵיהֶֽם׃ (their God). 45  וְזָכַרְתִּ֥י (And I will remember) לָהֶ֖ם (for their sake) בְּרִ֣ית (the covenant) רִאשֹׁנִ֑ים (of their ancestors), אֲשֶׁ֣ר (whom) הוֹצֵֽאתִי־ (I brought) אֹתָם֩ (-) מֵאֶ֨רֶץ (out of the land) מִצְרַ֜יִם (of Egypt) לְעֵינֵ֣י (in the eyes) הַגּוֹיִ֗ם (of the nations), לִהְיֹ֥ת (that I might be) לָהֶ֛ם (their) לֵאלֹהִ֖ים (God). אֲנִ֥י (I am) יְהוָֽה׃ (YHWH).

46  אֵ֠לֶּה (These are) הַֽחֻקִּ֣ים (the statutes) וְהַמִּשְׁפָּטִים֮ (and ordinances) וְהַתּוֹרֹת֒ (and laws) אֲשֶׁר֙ (that) נָתַ֣ן (made) יְהוָ֔ה (YHWH) בֵּינ֕וֹ (between Himself) וּבֵ֖ין (and between) בְּנֵ֣י (the sons) יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל (of Israel) בְּהַ֥ר (on Mount) סִינַ֖י (Sinai), בְּיַד־ (by the hand) מֹשֶֽׁה׃פ (of Moses).
